Design: HiFiMAN RE400 vs Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear

HiFiMAN - RE400

The HiFiMAN RE400 are small and tiny earphones that are extremely lightweight.Designed to look simple, it boasts of no over the top or fancy design. The earplugs have a nice metallic finish, while the back sports a shiny silver finish with concentric circles. The casing itself is devoid of any branding. We love the understated clean design.

The RE400 is connected via a 50 inch long oxygen cable. The cable is wrapped up in rubber from the earbuds to the Y-splitter. The Extended wire from the connector is covered in braided fabric and do not feel flimsy any bit. The RE400's construction is sturdy to look and feel, and its worth nothing that the L-shaped plug holds better than any other plug.

The Momentum series is known for its stylish design. The Sennheiser Momentum is arguably the most attractive pair of in-ears, courtesy of thatsemi-metal construction in red and black. The Momentum embraces colour and comes as a breath of fresh air. The Subtly metallic shade of the earpieces is far from bright flashy reds, otherwise used.

On the other side, the bright two-toned black-red cable may come across as flashy to some.

The outer body of the earpiece is built of plastic, while the inner part is metal. The build is solid, every part, every joint and jack every component feel well constructed and built for the long run. The fit is fine, nothing spectacular. That bulbous earphone body is ever so slightly larger than the average earbud size.

Comfort: HiFiMAN RE400 vs Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear

HiFiMAN - RE400

The RE400 comes with a fit and comfort that is exceptionally excellent. The tiny earpieces swiftly fit into your ears and stay there like there is nothing. The casing is lightweight which means there is minimum pressure exerted on your ear canal.

What we love about the RE400 is that it comes with an array of eartips included on the package. The double flanged ear-tips only help in conforming easily to the size of your ears, giving you a perfectly snug fit. The combination of the right ear-tip and low weight casing is only instrumental in giving your the most pleasurable fit. This means that you can sport the RE400 for hours at work without feeling fatigue.

The noise isolation is commendable and is more than you could expect from this course.

Sennheiser's Momentum has a narrow aperture, thus you may want to closely inspect these in-ears if you consider your ear canals to be too narrow.

The sloped design of the earpiece meets your ear canal at a slight angle, this may make your earpieces fall off your ear sometimes. However, the right combination of ear tips can salvage the situation.

The plastic metal joint construction helps ensure they're fairly light, with no comfort issues beyond needing to use the right tips.Getting an excellent fit may be questionable, but Comply's Universal Eartips will help you get the best fit.

Sound: HiFiMAN RE400 vs Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear

Sennheiser Momentum

The RE400 boasts of sound that is well balanced and naturally pure. They do take some time to warm up but later come with a bang. The non-boosted treble or any other artificial trickery, makes listening to these in-ears an ultimate pleasure.

The bass, mids and the treble are perfectly proportioned, making it a perfect pair for driving music from all genres. However, if you are a bass head, you will find that these in-ears lack a little thump. The detail and proportion are perfect.

The RE400 is just about business. It lends total justice to the instruments as well as the vocals. The astounding clarity lets you follow every beat of the drum and every string of the guitar. The good noise isolation only aids in the best music experience.

Sennheiser Momentum In-ears, thesound, it is fun, bright and bound to please a large number. However, save for the audiophiles. They’re crackers for electronic tracks, and have plenty of treble presence, too.

Bass lovers will feel right at home with thoseoodles of controlled bass, the highs are boosted. The mids are unfortunately, recessed.

When it comes to the
soundstage, the is admirably open and wide, which came as a surprise.

The Momentum's indubitably have a bass-centric sound. These in-ears will no-doubt please an awful lot of ears, provided you enjoy that thrilly bass.
