How will they fare against each other? Read on and find out!

CUTTING THE LONG STORY SHORT

"If you would ask us, We have always been in love with the V-Moda LP² because of the unmatchable comfort that they provide.
Yet some may also be driven by the elegance and style of Beats by Dr Dre.
Even after being used by a lot of Dj's I would consider V-Moda Lp2 more appropriate for the audiophiles, whereas Beats Mixr are purely made for gigs."

V-MODA Crossfade LP²: Named the Headphone of the Year in 2012, these over-ear headphones are built like a military tank. The trademark V-MODA military grade materials have been used in its construction. These over-ear headphones have a super bendable STEELFLEX headband, Kevlar-reinforced cables (two different lengths) and come with an exoskeleton formfitting case. It can withstand high and low temperatures, humidity, salt spray and UV exposure.

The headphones also come with interchangeable shields that can be laser-engraved in whatever design you'd like so that each shield is unique to its owner. You can switch these out for regular shields whenever you'd like to.

They're also really comfortable, the memory foam air cushion makes them extremely soft.

MILITARY LIFE-LIKE LOOKS OR A BEAUTY WITH BRAINS?

Beats by Dr. Dre - Mixr: These on-ear headphones have been made in collaboration with the highly acclaimed spinmaster and DJ, David Guetta. They are lighter than the Crossfade LP² and are also more portable as they can be folded easily. These attractively designed headphones also comes with an extra coiled cable. They surely are dripping with elegance and style. The logos and accents are well placed, add charm and do not feel self-serving or overly indulgent.

The other cord is partially coiled like a DJ’s and features a removable (yet still attached) 1/4-inch connector normally used by DJs. Once that is removed a normal 3.5 mm connector can be seen. This feature is not available in the LP².

COMFORT: V-MODA LP² VS BEATS BY DR DRE MIXR

V-MODA Crossfade LP²: The case fits in any backpack or carrying bag with ease. There is even a retention clip. So you can snap it on to smaller carrying bags, belt clips or purse strings for continued hassle-free transport. Thus, making them comfortable to be carried on the go.

OVER-EAR OR ON-EAR?

Beats by Dr. Dre - Mixr: The Mixr unit ships in a sturdy and sizable red boxed packaging. You get the headphones, a rugged carrying case, company literature, instruction manual an two different cords to connect to your audio device .

Being an on-ear headphones, Beats Mixr are less comfortable than the V-Moda LP2 which are over-ear in nature.

SOUND: V-MODA LP² VS BEATS BY DR DRE MIXR

V-MODA - Crossfade LP²: In these headphones, the bass is pronounced and vibrant and the midrange is vivid. Like all other V-MODAs the cymbals are crystal clear and vocals are lifelike. They also have an immersive 3D soundstage and fairly impressive analog noise cancellation. The sound leakage is also minimal.

The large 40mm driver unit is also noticeably larger than the Mixr's which allows them to produce far more powerful bass than the other.

CRYSTAL CLEAR CYMBALS OR OVERPOWERING BASS?

Beats by Dr. Dre - Mixr: These headphones also emphasize the bass and are one of the loudest Beats headphones out there. There is limited separation between the bass and the rest of the sound. The loudness does tend to be a little overpowering.

However, there’s a good width to the sound, and the smooth, rich mids and treble are very easy on the ear.
