by Reedhi Mukherjee April 18, 2015

Pioneering the wireless technology arena, Plantronics as a brand has always gifted human kind with great products that are loved and enjoyed everywhere. Each of their headphones and headsets are extremely efficient when it comes to wireless connections and always provide a no-compromise sound.

The Plantronics Backbeat Pro is one of their best headphones and it gives you enough reasons to actually be that good.

Design and Features

When you look at the Plantronics Backbeat Pro, you know you are looking at a butch and robust pair of headphones, which come in a very tough build quality. The ear-cups are a tad bit smaller as compared to other over-ear headphones, but these prove to be a good advantage as these headphones are travel ready, and hence, the ear-cups can be folded inward to fit snugly in your backpack wherever you go. It also comes with a carry case, for storage purposes. When you look closely at the earcups you will notice a lot of buttons and controls. Its great design hides them well, giving it an efficient look. It comes with a removable cable, so that you can use the headphones the normal way also, by attaching the cable to your source of music or other entertainment.

Its DeepSleep feature allows for optimum energy saving and helps your headphones last longer. The headphones automatically switch off if you have not used them with your phone for over an hour, becoming an important measure for saving energy. To get it back on, all you have to do it press the call button, which is strategically placed on one of the earcups. Plantronics promises a 24 hour wireless music experience, but if you keep away from the ANC or the active noise cancellation, then the headphones last for about 55 to 60 hours, making them a great pair to hang out with. The wireless range is about 100 metres so you can easily walk around the house to the other room if required.  Also, the utmost comfort due to the soft and generous padding allows for these headphones to be worn for long hours so that you can actually listen to long lasting music, just as your headphones.

The OpenMic feature is quite a fascinating addition in these headphones. You can opt in or out of your surroundings by choosing if you want to hear your ambient sounds or not. Especially helpful if on a flight or on a run, you can choose to listen to what is going on around you with the help of this feature, and switch it off to return to a noise-free musical atmosphere. The design and the ANC feature allows for successful and great noise cancelling. The Plantronics BackBeat Pro delivers premium quality sound at all decibel levels.

For those who are particularly fond of bass, these headphones are a good choice as the sound delivers a punchy bass, making the audio quality bass heavy. It also gives you undistorted highs, making it an all round great pair of headphones. It is no wonder that with its novel and modern features and tremendous audio experience, these headphones have turned out to be a must have among the mid-range headphones in India. We agree!
