Umesh Dhingra

Passionate about anything and everything!

Umesh Dhingra, Delhiite audiophile, tells us what he thinks of his Sennheiser HD 800 Audiophile Headphones.

Design & Build

Having moved on from the Sennheiser HD 598, the experience from unboxing to wearing the headphone was absolutely mesmerizing and worth remembering. The build has a fine premium look and needless to mention, but even in the humid weather of Delhi, these headphones are indeed too comfortable: it just doesn't get too hot to wear.

Sound & Performance
I am not an audiophile but my music collection which is mainly CD ripped FLAC and I've also just been adding files in the DSD format. I mostly listen to "live" performances and this morning while listening to the John Williams Celebration live music, I felt like I was actually present at the Walt Disney concert hall. The highs and lows sounded so unique that it was impossible to wonder, what exactly did the engineers at Sennheiser do?

Accessories & Complementary Gear

I have found that my HD 800 is just ideally suited for the Oppo HA1. Of course I have just few days back added the FiiO X5 (2nd Gen) Hi-Res Music Player to my setup and all this combination has ensured I have a superb listening experience for life. My music is stored on a 12 TB Western Digital network drive.

Final Verdict
The product is more than value for money and let me put this very emphatically that in case you really want to enjoy any type of music, do own the Sennheiser HD 800.
