FiiO introduced its new Portable Hi-Res lossless media player X1 2nd gen in the Autumn launch event which is slimmer, lighter in weight and lesser in width than its predecessor, X1. The product is extremely easy to operate with its advanced scroll wheel and has an added Bluetooth function which would make your music wireless. Not just that, it was designed with arc waist design for a better handhold fit along with full metal housing.

For the first time ever it has launched the new product in Rose Gold color besides Black and Silver, which were previously available for FiiO X1. The Rose Gold color looks absolutely amazing and we can't stop looking at it!

The new FiiO X1 2nd gen is estimated to be in the markets by the end of October and will also be made available through Headphone Zone. The MRP will be the same, as the 1st Gen at Rs. 8999/-

  • FiiO - X1 2nd Gen-1
  • FiiO - X1 2nd Gen-2
  • FiiO - X1 2nd Gen-3
  • FiiO - X1 2nd Gen-4

It supports music formats upto 192 kHz/32 bit which includes audio digital formats like APE, FLAC, AIFF,  WAV, WMA and OGG for all the audiophiles who don't want to settle for anything but the best. It also supports upto 256GB micro SD card which is twofold the expandable external memory of X1. FiiO earphones, apple earpods or standard android earphones will be good to go with the new X1 2nd gen.

X1 2nd gen gives you 12 hours of playback time which increases an additional hour comapared to X1, so that you can listen to your favorite tracks endlessly. You can also keep it on standby mode as per your requirement, your available options are: deep-sleep standby, ultra-long standby or instant on mode. It includes an in-line remote control which lets you play, pause, rewind, fast forward, increase or decrease volume effortlessly.

Once you keep it on vehicle-mode, it lets you synchronize power on/off with your car for maximum convenience. It also comes with a dedicated PCM 5242 Dac chipset which has SNR increased 100% comapring to that of X1 which was PCM 5142. It also contains a  docking expansion function. FiiO X1 2nd gen has a brand new gorgeous looking theme and we love it!

X1 2nd gen does not support DSD non-native decoding as that would take up storage from the main control which would lead to slow system response on operation. FiiObelieves in best or nothing at all, therefore for better and responsive user experience they have decided to abandon it.

Along with X1 2nd gen FiiO has many new products up its sleeve which are namely: Headphone amplifier - A5, F1 and F3 earphones, Lightning Headphone Amplifier & Dac - i1, Lighning earphones - iF3, Bluetooth cable - BTC-MMCX, Flaghship Dac & AMP - Q5 and headphone amplifier Module - Q5.

I haven’t tried any music players so far other than my android phone. Is the sound quality really good than a average android phone? Is it a huge noticeable difference in terms of sound quality?
