Kamal Menon Reviews The Chord Mojo

The Design & Comfort

The first thing I should mention is how easy the Mojo is to use. I paired the device with my laptop as well as my Galaxy Note 5. Barring the resampling issue that is a staple of Android phones, there really weren't any problems to mention. The battery life is quite adequate in my opinion. I did notice that the Mojo tended to heat up a little, but this didn't really affect the listening experience adversely.

What Was The Sound Like?

Coming to the crux of the matter, the music, or more importantly, the effect the Mojo has on it! I don't think I have enough words to describe what the switch felt like to me. Songs I have listened to for years started to take on new dimensions and colors when heard through the Mojo. I started hearing the tiniest of notes and half-hidden details I never knew were there. Many reviews I read prior to ordering the Mojo described the experience as being "visual", and now I understand what they were talking about. I would go so far as to say that in the few days I had with this incredible powerhouse of a DAC, it has had a profound effect on the way in which I listen to music.

I feel like I should mention one thing though, when it came to songs with a lot more intensity, ones that are on the heavier side of the musical spectrum, I had some issues picking out the individual notes and instruments. Don't get me wrong, there was a marked improvement in the listening experience, but at the same time I could feel that the Mojo was capable of more. Maybe I need a pair of headphones with a better soundstage?

In conclusion, the Mojo is a magical little device that makes listening to music, an already fulfilling endeavor, that much more pleasurable.

P.S. I also want to add that the Mojo is more than a little useful to musicians, considering the fact that it really helps one figure out the tiny little details that might have been missed otherwise, and more importantly, it does so on the go."

What Does Music Mean To You?

Quite a lot, actually. I grew up in a family of musicians, and I am currently trying to make it as one!
