Ganesh Talkies and How They Entertain

February 06, 2015

New, energetic, vibrant and a whole lot of fun, defines the Kolkata based band Ganesh Talkies. Influenced by Bollywood, yes Bollywood and Red Hot Chilli Peppers alongside No Doubt and Bappi Lahiri, their music is a perfect mix of varied sounds. Their songs are extremely catchy, unique and colourful, in the way that they’d like to describe it. They came together as a cover band doing Bollywood and pop rock and eventually found a sound that combines catchy Bollywood songs with Western tunes. Their agenda in putting these two elements together wasn't just to stand out but also get their audiences grooving and dancing.

Their track Item Song put them in the limelight of India’s upcoming bands for its extremely interesting sound. They have a full length album called In Technicolor that has trippy tunes with an equally intriguing album art that is enough to make you buy a copy. From roadside romeos, Bollywood item numbers to even the paanwaalas on Indian streets, they write about experiences that are pretty common and something we believe every Indian can relate to. They've played several gigs at major cities in India and the audiences have loved them. Their style on-stage is in sync with their fun, colourful music that makes them an entire package to catch live.

The line-up consists of Suyasha Sengupta on vocals, Ronodeep Bose on guitars, Nabarun Bose on harmonium and keyboards, Roheet Mukherjee on bass and Arka Das on drums.
