Flat Sound Signature

A Flat sound signature offers an accurate presentation of sounds without adding colour to your music. Simply put, this sound signature presents audio without boosting any frequencies. As a result, it’s the most natural-sounding signature and provides the closest reproduction of how a track was recorded and produced. Due to their accurate sound reproduction, flat sound signature headphones are preferred by Music professionals, Sound Engineers and used in professional studios for mixing and mastering music tracks and are also loved by audiophiles for immersive listening sessions. You can listen to Classical, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Folk & possibly every genre in music.

Ideal for Audiophiles

These headphones are designed for discerning music lovers. If you are someone who cares about audio quality "deeply," you'll want a pair of headphones like these.

You can expect them to present a refined listening experience. The audio quality exhibited by these headphones is a beautiful mix of musicality, technical brilliance and high precision.

These headphones deliver a spacious and open soundstage with utmost clarity and detail. Delve into pure sonic bliss with these headphones!

Ideal for
Indoor Use

Open-Back Design

Headphones with an open-back design, allow air to pass through the earcups. This means that Open-Backs do not block any noise from around you, as closed-backs do, and music being heard will also leak outside to people around you. So they can only be heard in a quiet environment.

However, Open-back headphones do sound more natural and open. Open-back headphones create a feeling of space, presenting audio as if you are sitting at a live concert. Audiophiles swear by open-back headphones, and they sound quite different to closed-backs.

These headphones are perfect for critical listening sessions, mixing and mastering music. They have an accurate soundstage presentation and precise imaging.

Needs Amplification

Headphones and IEMs require a certain level of power to sound their best and work at their full potential. When your headphones or IEMs are underpowered, they can sound thin or muffled.

Amplifiers are required to provide adequate power to your headphone or IEMs to perform at their best. Simply put, amplifiers allow a weak audio signal to be boosted to a powerful one.

To put it into perspective, devices such as your phones and laptops come with an amplifier, but they offer very limited output power. This output may not be sufficient to power headphones and IEMs to shine at their best. This is where a dedicated amplifier is required to deliver adequate power to hear your music in all its glory.

Replaceable Cables

A pair of headphones with a replaceable cable has many benefits, and one of them is if the connecting cable has a problem, it doesn’t mean that you have to buy a new one. If the connecting cable gets pulled or damaged, you can replace it and keep using your good-old headphones or IEMs. This way, your headphones will be protected and will last longer. With the advancements in cable manufacturing, you now get a variety of replacement cables with various termination options, lengths and quality.

Sennheiser has skillfully designed an almost perfect pair of studio monitors, the HD 560S. These headphones deliver a flat bass response, a neutral and uncoloured midrange, extended treble with a subtle emphasis on the lower treble to unveil mastering flaws. Additionally, they are easy to drive and exhibit impressive soundstage and imaging qualities.

Hype is REAL; this is IT!

I own few Sennheisers; HD 599 SE is the one I was using before this one.
Was concerned; if this thing sounds better than HD 599? And.. YES, it does; above and beyond..
Better depth, details; clarity; soundstage, bass; YES to ALL..
Music sounds pleasantly precise! No-added flavor.
Reference Grade? Yes, Sennheiser!

Comfortable headphones that sound great!

The sennheiser HD560-s are an unpretentious set of headphones that work towards a very specific brief and meet it with precision!
They are light, comfortable and remain comfortable for hours on end. A point that usually gets missed in the pre buying phase of many great but painful to wear headphones and iem’s.
They say analytical on the box and that’s what they deliver. Go in with eyes open and you won’t be disappointed.
You can focus on specific instruments and form a very clear sonic image of them as they present themselves in the soundstage. You can also let them play your favourite songs as you go about your tasks and they are a great background listen as well. The twain rarely meet - so well done sennheiser!
Some points for those of you looking for answers that I was looking for;
These headphones are driven well by your iPhone or equivalent and produce the above mentioned pleasing sonic output. They may be improved by an amp and dac - but it’s not a prerequisite (Please check the headphone safety setting if you don’t get sufficient volume on your first go. )
They work great also as WFH headset - you can get your better half to sign off on Yet Another Headphone Purchase :-) (you can pick up a mic enabled cable from sennheiser’s website - originally meant for the 598c and priced at about 2k - photo attached)
Post purchase regret - None. I’m quite pleased with the headphones!
One thing to watch out for - the stock cable is looooong, heavy and terminates in a 6mm jack. A regular 3.5 mm adapter is packaged - but it all adds upto the weight.
All in all these are a solid GO!

So glad to know that you love them:) We look forward to serving you again. Happy listening!

Gaming Bliss Redefined: Sennheiser HD 560S

I got the HD 560s predominantly for FPS gaming. However, I did A/B'ed it against my DT 900 PRO X, HD 599, Meze 99 Neo, ATH m50x and Razer Blackshark V2 in various use cases. Following are my findings,

Comfort and Endurance:
Long gaming or listening sessions demand headphones that prioritize comfort, and the HD 560S meets this need admirably. The lightweight design, coupled with plush ear cushions and an adjustable headband, guarantees comfort even during extended playtime. The breathable open-back design prevents discomfort caused by heat buildup, ensuring that the only heat you'll feel is from the intense gaming action itself. This comfort factor makes the HD 560S headphones an ideal choice for marathon gaming or listening sessions.

Wall-hack tier audio for the gamers:
The HD 560S headphones showcase Sennheiser's dedication to precision sound engineering. Equipped with open-back design and advanced transducer technology, they provide an expansive soundstage that engulfs gamers in a three-dimensional auditory environment. The acurate bass, crystal-clear mids, and sparkling (not sibilant) highs work in harmony to deliver an accurate representation of in-game sounds, ensuring you never miss a subtle footstep or a distant explosion. Whether you're engrossed in the heart of battle or exploring breathtaking landscapes, the HD 560S amplifies the gaming experience to new heights. The highlight of these cans are the precise imaging and wide soundstange. You just cannot go wrong with these in a FPS game situation.

Dead flat for music consumption:
These can be best termed as neutral. The wide soundstage which works like wonder for gamers also boost the musical experience if you like that kind of feel instead of in-head sound. However, they are not as exciting as my DT 900 PRO X or even the cheaper HD 599. Please note that these need some aplification to shine.

In summary, the Sennheiser HD 560S headphones are a revelation for gamers who seek pin point accuracy. With their impeccable sound precision, immersive soundscapes, remarkable comfort, and versatile compatibility, these headphones make every gaming session a journey of sensory delight. However, if you want to consume music using these then be sure that these are dead flat. You need trained ears to enjoy these. Overall, great headphone. Great choice under 25k as an allrounder headphone that can serve multiple use cases.

Thanks a lot for your detailed and genuine feedback, we're glad that you have such positive thoughts about the product and we'll share your thoughts with the brand as well. It'll also help our fellow customers to make the right choice!

Not at all
incredibly analytical

560S are great for analytical listening sessions. Their technical proficiency doesn't make them boring. They are incredibly analytical, which isn't a bad thing, but it can be overpowering—some genres, when properly mixed and mastered, sound outstanding. But when composers did something wrong, it's glaringly apparent.
The best analogy is like eating the world's best vanilla ice cream (whatever you're listening to) from a chilled glass bowl (560S). The idea is to focus on the ice cream and minimize distraction from it. Other brands may suggest adding hot fudge or sprinkle to supplement the experience (in this case, adding "color" to the sound), but the neutral headphones like the 560 want it to speak for themselves. HD560S reveals detail so well it can take away from the musical experience. In my honest opinion, if you are considering purchasing HD560S make sure you have a non-analytical set of headphones as well. I still do highly recommend HD560S, but they do deserve a small warning.

Hey Hardik,
Thank you for the detailed review of the product, we are sure it is going to help others make an informed decision. We hope you had a comfortable shopping experience.

Signature Sennheiser Sound

These sound really good - exactly the nice warm balanced sound that we love from Sennheiser. It's overpriced at release in India at 19K ($260 as of Feb 2021), but I guess discounts will kick in once they aren't so fresh.

The build is sturdy but mostly plastic. I would definitely say my Beyerdynamic DT 880s feel more solid given their metal construction.

Nonetheless, very happy with Headphone Zone as always, and the sound of the 560s did not disappoint, despite not being burnt in fully.

So glad to know that you love them:) We look forward to serving you again. Happy listening!
