Cables and Adapters

Cables are a simple, often affordable way to upgrade the audio quality of your Headphones, IEMs and Speakers. High-quality cables can and should ensure that every last drop of performance makes its way from your amplifier and source device to your ears. The analogue information coursing between your source and amplifier is complicated – and there's an awful lot of it. So connect them wisely, because, like every component in your audio chain, your audio cables can make a significant difference to the sound your Headphones, IEMs and Speakers ultimately deliver.

Factors to consider while cables :
Cable Quality - The purpose of a cable is to move an electrical signal from one component to another without degrading the signal significantly or introducing noise. There are audiophile-quality cables designed to keep the audio signal pristine and noise-free. Quality cables will deliver better sound, and you should consider one that offers noise-free transmission of your audio signals. Other “quality” features, such as gold-plated connectors and oxygen-free copper wire, are something you should consider. Gold-plating reduces resistance, and Oxygen-free wire may offer efficient transmission.
Shielding - All audio cables, except speaker wires and optical cables, are shielded to protect the signal from interference that causes noise. The shielding is most often a wire braid. The purpose of shielding is to protect the audio signal from sources of noise, such as radio transmissions, AC power cords, fluorescent lighting, rheostat dimmers, and some appliances. Good shielding blocks interference and also may serve as a ground. When buying a cable you should pick one with sufficient shielding for the best audio transmission.
