Affordable Beast

Being a music journalist and music production specialist by profession has given me the opportunity to test out a lot of headphone in my life. But I always prefer Audio Technica headphones for my personal use. And the best way to test out a headphone is to play songs by Steven Wilson in it.
When I played songs like She's Moved On, Trains, Blackest Eyes, Vermillioncore, Harmony Korine and The Raven That Refused To Sing on my Audio Technica-m20x I was quite satisfied with the clarity and balance in sound that this headphone offered. Its not quite powerful as my M50x but it is still awesome for regular and casual use. I would recommend this for listeners who want affordable headphones that have a really good sound quality.

Hey Arka! That was a good review and i hope many would feel this review to be helpful for them. It would be great if you could become a guest writer for us and we would also like to invite you to join our Audiophile community on facebook called The Indian Audiophile Forum. Genuine Headphones

If you love .mp3 songs, don't buy it.
If you know about wav, flac and Apple Lossless Audio formats, BUY IT.

Pros:
1. The headphone pads are soft.
2. Audio quality is perfect. I've tested the quality by using Ableton Live 9's EQ 8 (Loudness dB of audio at each frequency is correct.)
3. It works perfect with my Levono K5 Note (3500 mAh)
(It works well even with feature phones XD.)
4. It comes with a detachable pin for Pioneer Controller, Studio mixer & Sound Card.
5. It's suitable for Electronic Music production.

Cons:
1. Some guys could find hard to hear 808 / Sub-bass sounds. (You will need to purchase a sound card as LOW LATENCY settings are required to hear BASS sounds)
(Note: BASS does not sound like bubble sounds that you normally hear on inexpensive headphones. The BASS sounds like earthquake vibrations.)
2. Frequency range of the headphones: 15Hz - 20000Hz
Human hearing range: 20Hz - (44.1 / 2) Hz

Sorry for my bad English.
Have fun while producing.

Rediscover music.

I'm a bass enthusiast, or may I say I 'was' a bass enthusiast.

I've tried Skullcandy, JBL, Logitech, Beats by Dre, Sennheiser, and this baby. I craved for bass before I got Audio Technica. Here I am today, writing this review with this amazing piece of art on my ears.
You love bass? Need deep thumping bass in every song? Then buy these. No, these headphones do not boost bass, but, when I say it will change how you listen to music, believe it. You will start to appreciate the faintest of sounds in the music, those little touches of sweetness that you did not know existed. These headphones will make you rediscover music. They have the perfect bass that matches effortlessly with the rest of the music, producing the most minute details, making the song sound rich.
They have a flat response, for people who don't know what that means-
headphones like Beats have a bass boosting design. They basically adulterate the music, adding more bass and compromising on the details. Months and millions on mastering music, creating the perfect balance between every part and frequency and bass. Bass boosting headphones go over that balance, crank up the bass high and the rest of the frequencies suffer.
Audio Technica delivers unadulterated, untouched, raw music. Straight from the label, the frequency levels are unchanged, into your ears, produced by 2 speakers, arguably one of the best in traditional electric coil design, which can produce great deep crispy bass if the sound file has it. You listen to music like the artist intended you to listen. If you want to out the bass of the headphone, just search a "bass boosted" version of your favorite song on YouTube.
Pros:
Extremely comfortable.
Unmatched sound.
Abnormally clear.
Excellent bass.
Great build.
Look great.
Great cable, strong and thick, 3m long so it's very handy for me
Cons:
Hard to store, not very portable.
No carry bag.
3m long wire, some might have difficulty with managing the cable.

Audio Technica - ATH-M20x

I am happy with the purchase. Thanks Headphone Zone for their recommendation. Not too bulky. Its very light weight and build quality is very good. The cable is bit long. However, it is very soft and manageable. Sound quality is good compare with previous headphone (Sennheiser 180 cx and PX80). Very comfortable and can be use for long duration. I am using it with Fiio Q1 DAC.

Regarding sound quality, no problem with low. Its enough. Only feel that mid are bit low.

Most of the time I use it with my Moto G5 plus with Q1 DAC. Headphone Zone please suggest a better source device within budget for better listening experience.

It's a good one for what it is.

The free velour ear pads that's provided with this headphones isn't good. Also on the website it's shown as the ear pads are free but in the bill I received the headphones are charged for 3070 and about 700 for the ear pads. Not exactly free is it? Or is it for some other reason? I don't know.

What I do know is it's an entry level headphone into the monitor line and performs well over various frequencies as its pretty flat. Been using this continuously for few days now and if you can work around with an equalizer you can extract pretty decent sound quality from it for various genres of music as you prefer and it's well suited for even casual music listening. The bass is crisp and sharp and doesn't overshadow other frequencies. Coming to build quality, it seems sturdy enough but the fit isn't comfortable for long usage. The ear pads begin to stick to the skin and causes tension and pain as it sweats.
