The Astell&Kern A&norma SR15 can play just about any digital audio file up till 24-bit/192kHz, bit-for-bit. For 32-bit files, a Sample Rate Converter is used for downsampling. DSD is native up to 64 MHz and DSD 128 MHz is converted to PCM for playback.

SR15

The A&norma SR15 uses a Cirrus Logic Dual DAC of CS43198, MasterHIFI™ tier chipsets. Cirrus Logic is a highly reputed brand in the field of Audio Integrated Circuit chips and only their best chipsets i.e. those that sound the way the musician/producer intended it to be, are given a MasterHIFI™ designation. The A&norma SR15’s DAC has been built to give you audio that is lively and warm, without any distortion.

A great DAP is not only one that gives you great sound, it also needs to function properly without any lag. That’s what the A&norma SR15 does. Its Quad-core CPU is designed to efficiently power-up the device and make it intuitive. It also removes noise, distortion and other such distractions.

The A&norma SR15 has a simple and intuitive display. Just about all functions are focused on ‘music replay.’ The player is the main element on the screen. The menu has minimum depth and you have simple features to manage your music. There is also secure access to the music database.

The A&norma SR15 can be used as a pre-amp or digital music storage device. It even converts DSD to PCM for USB Audio devices that don’t support DSD over PCM (DoP). It supports Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) files that are known to deliver the sound of the original master recording.

The unique design of the SR15 has been created to look great as well as be super-user-friendly. The slight angle of the screen offers a better grip and an uninterrupted view of the screen. To add panache, there's a rectangular reflective coating that changes shape based on different angles of light to give you a 3D-like space.
