The title says it all :) fiio's finest single DD iem with pure beryllium diaphragm is a finely crafted piece of exquisite jewelry which oozes class and right from the packaging, to the iems, carry case, cable and the tips all Look very premium. The iem is built like a tank and fitting and comfort are excellent.
I have been a fan of fd5 though at times it was boomy in the mid bass and sibilant on higher frequencies. It did well with most genres. The fd3 was really a let down to say the least. The bass was too much (too boomy) for my liking and it was much more sibilant than the fd5.
I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on fd7 due to its ridiculous pricing but when I saw it available for 45K and combined with my HPZ fiio discount coupon of 10%, I pulled the trigger :). Must admit that I was still concerned about the SQ but after putting the iem through an initial run of my library I must say that I am very relieved :)
This iem will require significant burn-in but let me leave my initial impressions on the sound so far:
U shaped and very refined SQ compared to fd5. Bass quality is awesome, quantity is less than fd5 and fd3 which is actually a good thing as it allows the mids to shine and you get a very transparent and clean presentation. Sub bass is a tad less to my liking and bass nozzle compensates for this a bit but you lose details in the mids and treble.
The treble is nice and airy with lots of shimmer. I am yet to try the nozzle which enhances the treble but so far I am happy with the balanced nozzle. No sibilance noticed whatsoever.
Vs fd5 and fd3 : fd7 is a clear winner for me as it's more balanced and better controlled bass and cleaner mids. I can't listen to fd5 and fd3 anymore after getting the taste of fd7 :)

FiiO nailed this one. FD7 comes with great build quality, excellent cable with replaceable connectors and plenty of accessories.
They fit very easy and are very comfortable. The included tips will do the job but if you are looking for tip rolling, do consider Spinfit W1 tips which are very good.
The sound:
Single DD always has the advantage of great timbre over hybrids, tribrids and all BAs. FD7 has excellent tonality and timbre that almost feels like a open back headphones. The sound is a little warm, thick, smooth and very detailed. It's great for long listening and never fatiguing. It has great textured bass, nice smooth treble which never sounds bright or harsh. The mid range is a little laid back. It sounds very open and big for an IEM. I had a few IEMs (Oxyzen, Blessing 2) before but FD7 sounds significantly better than them.
If you are a single DD lover and prefer nice warm, smooth signature, don't hesitate just buy FD7 blindly. You won't be disappointed.

These sound so great, and pair well with my Fiio M15. One point to note that while the set comes with a multitude of ear plugs, only a select few will fit; depending on the tube. It's setup in such a manner that you can't go with a bass tube and a bass ear plug -- the plugs don't fit the tube diameters. Very strange.

FiiO FD7 continues in the direction of its FD line siblings, using the flagship-grade dynamic driver. The FD7 has a powerful 12mm dynamic driver with a diaphragm made entirely of Beryllium. With this pure Beryllium diaphragm material, the FiiO FD7 sets new standards of high-quality music with its thunderous performance. Because Beryllium is four times more robust than steel and only weighs one-fourth as much as titanium drivers, pure beryllium diaphragm provides excellent performance.
