Midrange disappointment

Ikko OH10 is a beautiful looking shiny iem I have ever had. It's weight will surprise you as soon as you hold these in your hand because of pure copper material I suppose. Here I must tell everyone that the cable looks crap and deserves a better looking cable (I use tripowin c8). Ear tips are just okay not great.
One good news is that having SPL of 106 db and impedance of 18 ohms, one can drive these with almost everything that has a 3.5mm jack. However pairing this with a good dongle amp dac like ibasso or tempotec sonata hd pro or any good bluetooth dac will certainly improve it's sound quality. I pair this with ifi hip dac, tr amp and ibasso dc 03, makes lot of difference in sq and overall volume.
As sound quality goes, these have more than enough bass to rattle your eardrums (but not as good as what I experienced in KZ ZSX). Bass is clean and pleasant. The problem of ikko oh 10 lies in its midrange and a bit of disappointment for me as I prefer a very clean open and forward midrange i.e vocals. Vocals in these are a bit recessed. You always have a kind of craving for more forward vocals and always have wish that the singer could be pushed little bit towards you (again kz zsx, kz A16 and moondrop star field wins in this area). This is the main reason for 4 star only and major cause of disappointment. Treble is nice and sparkly, no issues at all. No sibilance no harshness at higher frequencies. Overall loudness and soundstage is satisfactory.

Hey Mohd Shakil, thank you so much for taking time and writing such a detailed and honest feedback with everyone. We really appreciate it.

Beauty meets performance

The Ikko OH10 obsidian was most wanted IEM for me after I listened to these in DAN's Audio reviews. I requested HPZ for this IEM 2 months back since it was out of stock at that time. They responded and they have restocked. I am very thankful for that, it shows how much they value the customers and have restocked a product which was hard to find in other foreign websites. The product is amazing value for money, this is my 1st investment in an iem of upto 12,999₹ and it will be last because it performs so well, I won't need an iem of higher price other than OH10. The beautiful looks and build quality is it's major plus, for what we pay it definitely satisfies us. I'm not an audiophile to accurately pin point pros and cons in the audio quality, but as an average user, the tuning will make you forget everything about finding any flaws and definitely feels premium. The soundstage is definitely expansive and one more thing can be felt true, which was said on reviews, the bass is fast and accurate. Listening to guitar is best I've ever heard. Listen for yourself in DAN's Audio reviews and decide how it sounds if you want to buy. It didn't disappoint me at all. I feel proud to own this set. Music and movies were great. I have requested one more product in HPZ and it's going to be available soon which is Tin hifi T3 plus. It's an amazing value for money iem, if you can't afford OH10 blindly go for T3 plus. Than you once again to HPZ.

Hey Subhash,
Your review is not only insightful but also quite thorough, thank you for also recommending alternatives. Happy to read that you had a comfortable shopping experience. Cheers!

Absurd combo of fun and comfort

These are the heaviest iems you’ll ever hold, but they just sink in my ears and stay there for long hours without fatigue.

The sound is very lively and exciting, it is a v shaped signature but one that hits all the right spots for electronic and ambient music. The soundstage is noticeably large, imaging is great too and different sounds are easily distinguishable.

People do bash the cable and ear tips of these often but I had no issues using these (I’m in the minority of thin and light cable lovers and not 96core chonkers) out of the box with fit and comfort. Only thing which bothered me is the cable is tangle prone, even if you use the included cable tie (which also seems to be made of leather)

The case is not really protective but it does look different and feels fine in the hands, I won’t be commuting with these anyway so it doesn’t bother me.

Comparing them to my ER2SE around the same price range, these are a different beast altogether in the best way possible. If ER2SE is the analytical and tamed then the Obsidian is it’s chest pounding bass and sparkly treble cousin. I enjoy both of them for different reasons.

I waited this to get back in stock for a long time, attended 2 HPZ connects and tried everything I was interested in. But the obsidian was always intriguing to me with its design and sound impressions from other viewers.

Honestly they were worth the wait and holy hell that I missed that bass after using the etymotics!

Awesome Soundstage

All reviews of this IEM had spoken at length about the soundstage presented by these IEMs. And they were spot on. You definitely get a very soundstage (albeit within your head) for an IEM. Also they sound airy, instrument separation is great as well. Paired them with the recently-purchased (from HPZ as well) Schiit Heresy being fed from Schiit Modi 3 (again from HPZ) DAC. Also tried with Xduoo MT-602 tube amp being fed from Cayin R2R DAC. The bass went up a notch - everything else remained in place - equally enjoyable. Finally - ZEN CAN - no XBass or 3D - slightly laid back but by no means less fun or exciting. Really liked all the pairings and didn't feel any urge to switch - except for comparison

Hey there, nothing makes us happier than knowing you loved your purchase, hope you had a comfortable shopping experience and thank you for the great review and ratings!

Upgrade to Fiio FH3 but weak midrange

This is a clear upgrade to the Fio FH3 for those who like STRONG and fast bass and lively treble.
However, the mids take a backseat with the notes lacking the 'thickness' of either the FH3 or the BGVP DMG.
Be aware, the nozzle is stubby and short. The supplied tips did not work for me but I had a pair of Spinfit CP 100s lying around. They gave the perfect seal.
All in all, an excellent IEM with high clarity and detail retrieval which will cater to all genres, barring pure male vocals.

Hey, thanks for sharing your honest feedback, we really appreciate it!
