Meet the world's most advanced portable DAC/AMP—the Chord Mojo. Short for 'Mobile Joy', it's perfect for on-the-go usage. It features technology from the popular Hugo series and DAVE, including the FPGA DAC technology. Expect an unbeatable sound, from a device the size of your pocket.
The Chord Mojo can drive headphones up to 800Ω with ease. It has a Line Level Mode of 3v RMS and supports DSD256 (Quad-DSD) with up to 768kHz playback. The two separate data and charging USB ports let you charge it from a portable power bank while simultaneously enjoying music. An 8-hour battery life makes out-of-home listening with this DAC/AMP a breeze.
The powerful FPGA feed a WTA filter with 500 times the processing capacity of a standard DAC chip. This is paired with exceptional crystal oscillators pulsing at 20 times the frequency of regular DACs. The result? You hear audio reproduced as intended, with superlative timing, clarity, pitch, rhythm and sound staging.
The multi-award-winning Mojo can connect to just about any and every device. Use it with your smartphone, DAP, tablet, gaming console or PC seamlessly. It features USB, Optical and Coaxial outputs and two 3.5mm inputs.
Engineered in Britain, utmost attention has been paid to quality and detail. A solid CNC milled aluminium chassis makes the Mojo last through all your trips. The LED indicators change colour based on the digital signal (violet meaning DSD i.e. the best). It easily lets you know the device frequency while looking awesome.

With out wasting much time let me brief what this little dynamite is upto.....
Source: IBasso Dx90, Mi Max 2, Fiio L17 cable, Audioquest Evergreen RCA cable
Headphones used: Sennheiser HD 700, HD 598, HD 380
Earphones: Brainwavz R3, Shure SE 215
Audio samples: FLAC Audio of 16 bit and 24 bit. (Hindi, Telugu and Tamil songs)
I am writing this review after critical listening for a little over three months.
You would be surprised how quiet this Mojo DAC is, Detail and clarity is amazing. No harshness on Sound. Mojo is very Musial and natural without any colouring.
Sound Stage is wide enough and better than the Schiit Magni 2 (which i used earlier) producing balanced audio production. It drives my Senn HD 700 with ease.
Bass is very tight and punchy, producing deep lows and sufficient mid and low bass.
Mid range frequencies are most musically noted. If you listen to some of AR Rahman songs, they sound so natural.
let me give few nuances heard from the song "yeh jo Des Hai Tera" The song starts with a deep Bassy note and rolls forward with ARR voice. The broken chords of guitar, the Ghatam sound, ARR humming and Synth Pads sound so neutral and natural with so much depth and instrumentation separation. The Tabla bhol are so crisp to hear and shehenai tone is so airy which made me so fascinated.
"Hossana" song from (Vinnaithandi varuvaya/ Ye maaya chesaave) the mandolin sound starting at 0.30sec to 0.50sec which gets laid back in some DAC's/amp i heard but the Mojo seperates the instrument so well and brings the sound forward, bringing a new life. solo voice on 02.33 with guitars sounds incredible. I know most of the nuances sometimes get lost with loss of freqency due to less bit rate or Poorly ripped MP3's.
Mojo works with good feed of High quality audio.
For me notable composers like Yuvanshankar Raja, Harris Jayaraj, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Amit Trivedi, Pritam, Thaman, G...
Mojo's DAC is top notch but amp is certainly lacking the timber and richness that you would expect. Amp is more digital than organic
After contemplating several times, Headphonezone team can vouch for that with my activity logs, I finally bought the Chord Mojo. My requirements were simple -portable, less space consuming and, future proof. Thanks to the free DSD album coupon, I am now addicted to the Mojo with my HD6XX! The best portable audio gear upgrade you can gift yourself.
I bought Chord Mojo around six months back from now, but writing a review at this moment. I basically bought it for use as a DAC for my audio system. I am using Marantz CD 6006 CD Player as a source. For High Resolution Flac & WAV audio files, i use my Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. Marantz CD 6006 CD Player has a good DAC in-built, but when i connected digital optical out of Marantz to Chord Mojo's optical input and connected line-out of Mojo with my Amplifier, the result was noticeably good. Sound quality was quite improved. Clarity and soundstage increased and music became more alive. Warm presentation and punchy bass of Chord Mojo was appealing. Every instrument and vocals were emphasized and got its separate place in its dynamic, open and spacious soundstage.
I also wanted to try Mojo's Coaxial input by connecting Coaxial output of my Marantz CD 6006 CD Player, but couldn't find a suitable Cable as Mojo uses 3.5mm 2 pole Coaxial connecter. I searched a lot and found a 3.5mm to RCA Coaxial Cable for Rs. 3500. It was pricey, but i wanted to see the difference in comparison to Optical connection. Although the wire i got was a 3 pole 3.5mm connector, but it worked fine with Mojo. When i connected this Coaxial cable, i didn't find much noticeable difference in sound quality in comparison to Optical connection. Probably the difference would have been more evident in higher frequency files.
When i used Chord Mojo with my Smartphone, sound quality was pretty improved as expected. I connected USB audio out of my Smartphone to Mojo's USB input and performance became more clean, dynamic with open and spacious soundstage. Music was more enjoyable with more punch and rhythm.
To sum it up, all i can say it is a great performing DAC+AMP and it will be difficult to find a better DAC in this range. Highly recommended from my side!
Excellent mobile DAC . Thank you Raghav & Deepa for your help and support.
I just got it and use with ipad pro via usb to camera kit(apple genuine)it not quite better than when i use with andriod tablet via otg cable it look better, sound clarify good, overall i still love chord mojo.
Well, where do I start, for praising Chord Mojo. This small item is so incredibly good that it enhances not just the clarity of the sound, but brings out the hidden emotions in the music. It makes you hear music the way it was intended to be heard. No wonder this product is so popular and has received such a high global acclaim, despite its price, considering its a truly portable DAC and Amp. I have had atleast three DAC/AMPs before purchasing this, but the Mojo makes everything so musical, making me wonder as to what do I do now with the remaining ones.
I have tried using my cell phone and laptop along with mojo and they all sound great. However using my FIIO X3 2nd gen (as transport or storage) and feeding the digital output (via coaxial output) to mojo's coaxial input gives me the best sound quality. It could be because the predefined equilizer settings in the FIIO are good (I am using High gain with Rock mode in equilizer). Mojo drives all my headset extremely well, the most relaxing sound is given when driving the sennheiser HD 650. Mojo brings out the best in any headphones falling within its impedance range to drive.
Mojo makes the sound very natural, and makes you hear things which you never thought was actually there. Overall what I can say is its hard to describe the experience, you need to hear to believe. Thanks to Headphone zone for making this product accessible in India
My unit arrived 4 days ago and I've been listening to non-stop! Gear used: (i) sources - Astell & Kern AK100, iBasso DX90, iPhone 6s, (ii) headphones - Shure SE846, Audeze - EL8 (open), Audio Technica ATH-M50X (closed). When using the iBasso (coaxial to bypassDAC) and the iPhone (CCK to bypass the DAC), I realized that these units were now only storage and browsing devices.
I first started with Jazz - The Vijay Iyer Trio’s album “Break Stuff”. The song “Hood” that has the trio bouncing through variations of a simple theme. I had never heard the bass quite so clearly. It wasn’t the volume, it was the texture, depth and extension that astonished me. I'd bought the Audeze EL-8 headphones for the promise of planar magnetic technology and its reproduction of bass. I heard it the very first time when I plugged them into the iBasso DX90. Clear, punctate and extended without muddying other frequencies, and I thought it can’t get better than this. Boy was I wrong! With the Mojo in between the bass was standing in a corner of the sound stage separated, not from frequencies, but from other instruments. And each instrument was clear and separate. It was almost visual.
For classical I began with “Bach Cello Suites” by Yo-Yo Ma. The heft of the bass notes in this album have always made it a rig-demo favorite for me. At the end of the very first track (Suite No 1 in G Minor: Prelude) I was distracted by a knocking sound on the table I was sitting at. I opened my eyes and shoved my computer aside to see where this noise was coming from and then realized it was coming from the album. Yo-Yo Ma was probably shifting before the next track, and it sounded like the bow may have knocked the wooden surface of the violin. Yes, the Mojo images well and has a soundstage that pops out of the headphone. Brilliant!
I think my hearing just got better. Portable music has never been this pleasurable! Thank you Headphonezone for allowing such a purchase in India in record time (3 days).
The sound quality of mojo is like unmatchable at this price range for portable dac infact using this with A.R. rehman sir 's flac songs is like opening whole new dimensions but the cable provided with this feels like chinese knock off one 's and yeah the cable stopped working within 2 days of delivery though i have not raised any kind of complaint with headphonezone but would like to advice everyone to buy aftermarket cable which support fast charging because normal cable won't work with this device as it doesn't recognize the device when using a normal cable however when connected by fast charging type b cable it works fine I have purchased type C to type B cable from amazon which works as great as the one provided in the box but the build quality of mojo is awesome it is heavier than my note 8 and ipad combined but its worth buying using this device you will never be disappointed.
