I auditioned them on DT 1990 PRo, EL-8 Closed.
They are amazing.
For their size they are pretty powerful. The only DAC of this size that is more powerful is the ₹40k Chord Mojo.
Deep deep bass. I am guye who loves natural tonality, fairly neutral signature, natural and precise soundstage.
ANd these give me everything. They have deep deep bass, extended highs which aren't fatiguing at all. The smooth sound is just eargasmic to listen to.
Fulla 2 is warm, which means that they are not neutral. But consider the fact that many neutral cans are bright sounding and somewhat fatiguing so this shit makes for a great synergy with premium cans too.
The mids are very forward, resolving, smooth and detailed. The sound has crispiness but still quite forgiving.
To me, I would buy this or the Audeze Deckard (Class A monster) or any other Class A monster. Nothing beside Fulla 2 looks attractive at this price for a desktop setup.
And I have compared them against the Deckard too. Deckard is great, but this is not far either. Deckard vs. Mojo are far more significant than Deckard vs. Fulla 2.
I had been on the quest to make my JBL LSR 305 studio moniters sound better than how they sounded stock out from my laptop. The word schiit meant nothing to me 6 months back but now is the essence that flavours my music, be it gospel or death metal, classical or progressive, or any other genre under the sun. The fullness of sound that I enjoy today has made me wonder how I enjoyed music all these years without actually listening to it's finer nuances. Be it the soundstage, the clarity lent to the instruments, the sheer depth of the vocals, listening to music on this system gives an aural orgasm next to none. Schiit has made a product that exudes quality from the very box they come in, which complements the grey aluminium finish and the smooth rotary knob that controls the volume. It makes my life using two powered monitors as simple as using computer speakers, only that these blow most computer speakers I have heard, even from reputable brands such as Bose, swans, creative and jbl (non professional ones) out of the water. Thanks schiit for making me an addict. Schiit bifrost multibit... you are next. And thanks headphonezone for your prompt and knowledgeable sales and service team for making the purchase as easy as it could have been.
AMP : Pretty Powerful Can Drive most of the cans
Pre AMP: Does the Job ...Not very effective though
Fixed DAC: This is where things get interesting, I break it in to 3 parts below:
Low Frequencies : WOW !!!!!...Bass is just as tight as it was recorded ( I guess )...Listening bass line is so sweet
Mids : Vocals come to live... Listening Steven Wilson, Norah Jones , Adam Levine, Adele..Etc..Is treat to ears...Like they are live
High Frequencies: Just hit the sweet spots...Without fatiguing...More engaging and immersive
Overall a great buy...Thanks for Headphone Zone Team for this decision between...Dragonfly ...High five to you Guys !!
I am listening everything 24 bit 96 kHz Wav files every bit of it..Cheers !!
In three words: Oh my gosh!
About my sources: I'm not a seasoned audiophile, so bear with me. PC, smartphones, iPod shuffle 1st gen are my sources. My current headphones/IEMs aren't anything special either: JVC Harx 700, Hifiman Re-400, Soundmagic E80, Brainwavz Delta, Remax 610D.
My favourite nokia 808(modded) headphone jack died and my Samsungs weren't good enough. Searching for something better, led me here.
I was confused between DAC and DAP but then I found the fulla 2, only avaliable here and researched it. Finally took it over the dragonfly black and red, cayin N3, fiio x3iii.
I'm so happy I did. Thank you headphone zone for making this shit available in India. The sound is amazing. Just plug and play and it blows away the pc and Galaxys out of the water. The bass is really deep and nicely present. The midrange has much more detail and vocals shine in a way that gives me goosebumps. The treble is great too, non fatiguing without noticeable sibilance but still quite revealing.
The best combination was with JVC harx 700. It was anemic before and left in the cupboard. But now, (pause...need to wipe some tears of joy :-D) it's ALIVE. Wow!!.
One thing that's a bit puzzling is that it sounds different with different sources. This DAC works with my symbian nokia 808 too!! With the fulla, the sound is noticeably better than my S6 with the fulla. Onkyo HF player improves it on android but still not as "nice" as on symbian. Android probably just needs some tweaking at the kernel level, perhaps other brands like LG have done better. So, keep in mind that your source can influence how good this thing can sound!
The line out and pre out mean I can use this with my computer speakers too which is a bonus! And its small size makes transportability a breeze! I even can take it for walks paired with my phone and powerbank in a small sling bag with compartments.
In a nutshell, go buy this if you're new to the audiophile world and haven't heard far mo...
Went for this after reading a lot of good reviews and they were right: Got this powering my AKG K7xx and they’re notorious for being hungry for power. Although I do have to keep the volume at around 60-70%. Sound wise adds that meat to the bottom end but not anything I could perceive as a colour overall and the highs reach high and no trace of sibilance.
It has a power-in option too if the system shows its drawing too much power (never had that issue). The extra power supply can be any mobile charger with a micro usb tip lying around the home not finicky as long as it’s 500 ma or higher.
Why I chose this is for it’s flexibility to be used as a pre-out to an Amp or a variable out to an amp / powered speakers (I use this quite frequently).
If you’re not going to be rolling OP amps and need a reliable Desktop buddy with a big volume button (oh how I love that) got for it.
When I first placed the order – I was initially apprehensive whether can it drive a power packed CAN like EL8 (Open) but Fulla 2 – did all the magic. It’s a compact USB DAC and headphone amplifier. The price to performance ratio as the audiophile community claim – is just fantastic. Its an out and out desktop set up amp with a simple USB connector. The most convenient part is you don’t need to install any drivers.. Just plug and play – be it windows or MAC. In terms of sound- they produce a kind of punchy and dynamic sound. It can easily drive power to any pair of cans. Headphone out, aux input, power supply options and stack expansion possibilities – all packaged into one product – that’s Fulla 2 for you. I currently pair it with my Audeze EL8 (open back) and it was able to bring out the sound signature of El8s.. It is versatile and ease of use at this price point ..If you want a budget DAC/amp with excellent sound quality…Just go for it
I bought the fulla 2 after spending weeks on research. I bought it mainly to power my AKG K712 headphones. But I also wanted something to enhance my listening experience from my laptop and desktop. I can basically pair the fulla 2 with anything. I was simply blown away with what this little monster can do. The connectivity options are very simple and hassle free. Use it as a dac or amp/dac combo. It delivers a solid performance regardless of what it is used for. The cheaper option to the fulla is the fiio e10k. But the fulla 2 has a lot of driving power than the e10k. Plus the build quality is pretty solid than fiio. Overall listening experience has improved greatly. It may not be a day night difference, but it comes close to achieving the same. All in all a very good buy. Thanks headphonezone for making the fulla 2 available in India.
Design of Fulla 2 is excellent, with this DAC sound quality of my stereo AV Receiver of YAMAHA RXV 465 has improved, Ton has clear and bass, treble, vocal sounds has balanced & up to the mark like BOSE.
GREAT DAC BUT A LITTLE PRICEY. I'M USING IT FOR GAMING AND IT'S QUITE GREAT. I DON'T TURN IT PAST THE 3 O CLOCK MARK, IT CAN GET REALLY LOUD. ALSO FIX YOUR REVIEW SECTION, ALL LOWER CASE LETTER 'C's BECOME 'O'.
