What does the Eitr do?
To put it simply, three things. Firstly, using a unique transformer coupling method, the Eitr offers electromagnetic & electrostatic isolation from the USB source. Compared to optocouplers, Eitr becomes an impressively low-jitter device. Secondly, the Eitr eradicates the relationship between the system power and the USB power. The convertor’s low-noise and rechecking sections are fully self-powered. Finally, the Eitr offers independent crystal-based clocks operating at 44.1 and 48kHz multiples for both the USB input and the SPDIF output.
Connect to any Audio USB Source & DAC
The Eitr USB input just needs to be connected to any USB source after which you can connect the convertor’s coaxial SPDIF output to a DAC which supports a coaxial input. Thanks to the Eitr, you will enjoy total isolation from source to the DAC. The SPDIF interface allows for some insane bit depths and sample rates up to 24/192!
Technologically Advanced Gen 5 USB Input
Taking inspiration from Schiit’s upgradable DACs, the Eitr has the same unique Gen 5 USB input with electrostatic and electromagnetic isolation through transformers. Long story short, it works great & sounds great, too!
Built-in Low Noise Linear Power Supply
Just like Schiit’s incredible stackable DACs & amps, the Eitr also comes with a built in linear supply with a lot of ultra-low-noise voltage regulators. There are no switching supplies from the 1.5A and 6VAC wall-wart to the output.
Made in USA
The vast majority of the total production cost of the Eitr - chassis, boards, assembly goes to American companies manufacturing in the US. Making Schiit's Eitr truly 'Made in USA'.
