  • Your Music. Now Remote Controlled.

Trust Schiit to build a preamp so unique! The Freya is made for those who desire the best for their home audio setup. The custom remote control allows you to control volume, input switching, output switching and muting.

Choose from Passive, JFET Buffer or Tube Gain Modes

Depending on how close you are to your setup as well as what kind of sound you’re in the mood for, the Freya has three modes to choose from. The Tube Gain is great if you want to take advantage of the warm tube sound. This mode uses a serious gain stage. The result? A mean machine running on 300V for incredibly low levels of distortion. The Passive mode is what makes the Freya preamp as cool as it is: a mode which is most ideal for hi-fi systems. With the Passive mode, you get to enjoy the convenience of the remote control. Want to drive long cables? Your best bet would be the JFET buffer stage.

    Potentiometers are so Yesterday

The Freya is advanced in a lot of ways - you can control the volume using its 128-Step relay stepped attenuator for perfect channel matching. Most other preamps are susceptible to channel imbalance at lower volume levels because they use a potentiometer to control volume.

Meet your Yggdrasil’s Match in the Saga

Schiit’s DACs are a demanding bunch and the remote-controlled system on the Yggdrasil or even the Gungnir Multibit offers for a truly no-compromise hi-fi audio listening experience when used together.

    Made in USA

The vast majority of the total production cost of Saga - chassis, boards, assembly goes to American companies manufacturing in the US. Making Schiit's Saga truly 'Made in USA'.

Awesome piece of Schiit!!

An awesome preamp which i believe is the biggest VFM in the market today (i believe all the Schiit products are, I have an Yggdrasil too!).

For this money, u r getting a fully balanced preamp with 3 output options - Passive, Passive with JFET and TUBES!! I am primarily using them with the TUBE output and it sounds fantastic. the soundstage and the sheer 3 dimensionality is a revelation. There is some magic in the midrange, which i believe only tubes can bring!

One important thing to note here is that i have upgraded the tubes the moment i received this preamp. I have not used the stock tubes at all! I have been using 6SN7s from "Northern Electric".

I have used preamps from EXPOSURE and ATC before, costing many times more!. Freya with TUBE output just killed these 2, in terms of almost all the parameters of sound.

IMHO, this preamp is worth the money and more! Moreover, you can venture into the world of tubes without breaking the bank and believe me, that world is something else; at-least when compared to the solid state gears that i have listened (including mine and those from friends) !

For those who are curious enough, my setup is given below..

Auralic Aries Streamer / Marantz SA 8005 SACD Player -> Schiit Yggdrasil -> Schiit Freya -> ATC SCM 19 Active Speakers
