Our Verdict

A high impedance earphone that requires an AMP to get the optimum output.

Sennheiser's entry-level option with a mic, reasonable sound, and 2-year warranty.

Scottish brand offering a 3-year warranty and the best in class build quality.

Bass that'll feel almost like an earthquake, but will tend to overpower the rest of the sound.

All hype

I chose these over E10C though costlier (I doubt the E10 would have been any better; with lower price, it could have been all the worse!)
They sounded okay out of the box. I thought maybe burn-in would make it better.
It didn't. With DAC-Amp (Fiio Alpen 2 E17K), they fared better than run of the mill variety but nothing spectacular.
Then it happened a few days back. Right in the middle of listening, the bass died. Poof.
Now they sound tinny and very much like the horns of yore. Total flat. So much so that the DAC-Amp cannot rescue the sound.

I have a LG g6 so I wanted earphones of high impedance the only ones we the e80 and e50 I bought the e50. I used them and they r truly wonderful. triggers my hifi DAC and uses it to its utmost extent. So guys if you have an LG g6 or a LG V30 get these for sure

Getting the balance right

There are four aspects which make a good set of earphones, in my opinion.
1. Sound
2. Fit
3. Zing
4. Cost

A lot of pairs get the first two right and are seldom affordable as well. However, they simply aren't something that one would like to own.
This is where E50c nails it. Its got the right amount of everything.
Foremost, the sound is peppy but has the right amount of warmth. The fit is absolutely amazing. The plethora of accessories offered make it easy to customize the fit to your liking and situation. The inclusion of a pair of comply tips is a bonus. The hard case is nice and handy. All in all, it has those bells and whistles that make this pair a desirable set of earphones. The saucy red color and rubberized cable are especially eye catching.
The buttons have a soft touch feel and the centre button has a small rubber dot which makes it easy to recognize what you're pressing without looking down.

E50c gets the balance perfect offering good, smooth sound, amazing custom fit and a lot of bells and whistles. What adds to this deal making it sweeter is that its quite affordable as compared to some higher end models.
PS: the angled input jack feels awkward at first but then I realized how useful it is when I tugged my wires against a lock.
Kudos to headphone zone, my package arrived two days after ordering and the description on site is on point.

Awesome Sound @affordable price

gradually upgrading from Sony>sennhaiser>bayerdynamic byron>Soundmagic E50C, the experience has been eye-opening ( ear-opening?) after each upgrade.
The sounds so far lurked under the mystery fog of low quality configurations are unbounded and revealed in their glory. Even the mediocre songs have some brilliant moments by sound engineered marvel. The throatiness in voices, deep heart-wrenching wails of Cellos, enthralling energy of base guitars could be heard as never were before.
The balanced sound that does not overpower other upper spectrum end by deep bass or boosted treble as experienced in previous gear.
The bass-heads might not be thrilled, because the thumps are not eye-ball shaking, but in EDM tracks, bass is more pronounced and deep enough to feel the punch.
These phones are for discovering new sounds and experience music in next level.
At this price the looks, accessories and quality are a steal. one pair of comply tips are also provided They provide snug fit, but the sound seems changed to suppress some highs, it may be suited to some individual preferences.
Altogether its a very valuable return for the money and will stay in my favorites for long.

Not quite what I expected

Having used multiple soundmagic earphones before, I had a specific idea in mind regarding their sound signature. This has quite a different one, much 'flatter' than the more easy listening variants like E-10 and E-30.
