"Sleep" - Mahesh ft. Adiel
"The song came to life from another life coming into this world. It was inspired by a baby born to someone who I know closely. It is meant to be a lullaby but maybe I interpreted the song in more than one way when I wrote it. It is a lullaby and a love song"

When did you take to playing music? And when did you realize that this is what you were meant to do?

I picked up the guitar when I was 15 and that's when my journey with music began. Soon after, I heard John Mayer's ' Gravity' which inspired me to become a songwriter and to find the need to do it for the rest of my life. I've never looked back since then.

Your most memorable moment as a live musician thus far...

Being the supporting act for Lucy Rose, a wonderful singer songwriter from the UK has to be the highlight for me. The gig has a special place in my heart, especially when Lucy herself has toured with Damien Rice, one of the biggest inspirations ever in my career as a songwriter.

Mahesh's music is about...

It's about expressing something as purely and genuinely as possible. To be able to preserve the emotion felt while writing the song in the music itself. That's what I try to do every single day as a musician. But then again, you've got to know how to use a brush to make a beautiful painting on canvas and so, every day is about learning.

The Cello parts on the track sounds absolutely beautiful! What lead to this amazing collaboration between you and Adiel?

A cell phone video of me performing the song at my friend's birthday party went viral on Facebook. That opened a lot of new opportunities for me and of course, Adiel connected with me for the collaboration because of it. He's done such a beautiful job!

Three of your current, most favorite indie acts that you'd recommend to anybody.

Soulmate, Pinknoise and Beer Puppets

When can we watch you live next?

Mahesh and the Mix is playing at The Bflat Bar on the 11th of June and I will be doing a songwriter set at the Indigo Live Music Bar on the 16th of June. Looking forward to seeing new faces! :)

What can we expect from Mahesh's music in the future?

Mahesh and the Mix has a few music videos and live performance videos lined up in the near future and an album is also in the plans. I've also been working on loads of new music for my songwriter act. I intend to put out lots and lots of music from all directions in the near future.
