Gotta admit that I am a bass-head. But this headphone totally changed my perception of music. The details on this one is amazing, you get to hear everything the way it's meant to be heard. Not much BASS but then one will easily get used to the flat audio signature which gives priority to the vocals and details. The cushions are comfortable and covers the ears fully. The headphone itself is very light and comfortable. I did a lot of research before going for this one and I feel I chose right!
Headphone is really worthy,Below are my opinions on headphone
Best audio quality,Highs are crisp,Mids are very clear and Lows are punchy
Volume slider is very good
Mic is good
Built quality can be improved.
Guys this one is not meant for people who loves only bass. This is meant for people who loves balanced audio
Bought these from Headphone Zone (props to their quick delivery) last year and here's my review after using them for almost a year :-
First let me start with the positives of the headphone :-
1. They sound great for the price:-
-> Bass is tight, punchy and not overpowering
-> Mids are where they shine. The vocals, instruments sound clear and accurate.
-> Highs are present and sound pleasing to the ear.
2. Great Portability
-> The foldable design of the ear cups and the compact design makes it very portable and can be carried anywhere.
3. Good Features and a decent mic
->The volume slider and the button are a great addition to the headphones. The button can be used to play/pause/change music and can also be used to pick up/mute calls.
-> Mic quality is decent and can be used for recording in quiet environments.
4. Good Noise Isolation
->They block out excess noise from outside
-> Can be used in public environments owing to low sound leakage from the headphones.
-> The ear cushions have a soft & plush feel to it.
Coming to the cons of the device:-
1. They aren't very loud on smartphones due to a relatively high impedance of 40 ohms but when plugged into a laptop/PC immediate difference is noticed.
2. The build quality is not up to the mark and the headphones look like they could break anytime if handled very roughly.
3. Lack of cushion support at the headband.
4. Heat build up over the ears after extended usage. Moreover people with larger ears would find these a tad bit uncomfortable.
Overall Verdict : If you're looking to upgrade from stock earphones in pursuit of better sound with calling functionality at a budget then these are the pair of cans for you! :)
Really nice looking unit....Feels comfortable on the ear. Reduces ambient noise by the sheer fit. The bass is good, though not overpoweringly so. The treble is a bit on the lower side. Good for listening to music with decent bass. The Sennheiser PX80 is bit better for listening to movies and such where voice clarity is needed. But for music, this is really good. The best part is, it almost completely blocks all external noise. So ideal in noisy environments like gyms and so on. Somehow performs better when connected to mobile phones as compared to a laptop or a plain ipod.
Hope this is useful for all potential buyers. All in all, very very happy and enjoying every minute with it!
Is this a joke?
Even at full volume, feels like 50 %, and at so low volume, not able to figure out anything!!
This is the best pair of cans if you are low on budget (
Audio-Technica - ATH-AX1iS. I am a casual music listener, having a taste of music in many genres, so needed a headphone which would provide a balanced, natural sound experience and it does a pretty fine job.
1. Good well balanced sound. The headphones provide good clarity and balance. Do not expect more bass from this one.
2. Good built quality. The cushions are soft, the headphones can be used for a longer period of time. It has the adjustable strap and the fold flat design is quite cool. It doesn't feel flimsy while using.
3.The noise cancellation is top notch, even at low volumes it provides a cut-off from rest of the world.
4. Do you have any annoying friends who always want to talk when you have your headphones on? No worries this one has a slider control to lower the volume while having a conversation and thus no need to get the headphones off Everytime someone interrupts.
5. A very good job by the Headphone zone which is the best platform for choosing between a variety of options of headphones suitable for you and before time delivery. Thank you guys.
Ratings for :
Bass - 6/10
Highs - 8/10
Mids - 8.5/10
So conclusion is if you're looking for a well balanced over the ear headphones under 2k then this is the one.
To start off, these headphones are amazing for the price. Bass is pronounced, highs are clear and the mids don't sound muddy. Singer's from any genre never get lost within the background beat and are crystal clear and for electronic music, you can really hear every individual sound if you listened carefully.
However, the reason for the 4 stars is the fact that they can be pretty uncomfortable for me. There is no padding on the head part and the padding on the ear cups, although soft, is too thin for my ears, making my ears feeling squished. However, they are just tight for my ears and aren't too tight on my head. Furthermore, it is an all plastic build, so make of that what you will but it can handle any realistic bends that might happen due to travel in bag or such.
Lastly, the microphone quality is not legendary but ore than good enough for casual calls and maybe even some recording if you have a decently soundproof room.
Overall, great buy for the price just wearing them for more than 30 minutes caused my ears to ache a bit.
I'd purchased my Audio-Technica - ATH-AX1iS in June 2016. I was looking for something I could use with my Nokia Windows Phone in the Mumbai trains and for daily use (abuse?).
Didn't want to break the bank but wanted something better than the crappy in-ears one gets supplied with any handset one buys. This was also the first time I was buying anything from Headphone Zone. (I'm usually not a great fan of buying electronics online - specially audio).
However, Headphone Zone was located quite near my office (which used be at Blue Wave building - Off Link Rd Andheri) and I thought I'd pop across and check out some stuff. Never got around to visiting their office but did wind up buying gear from the website.
Anyways, the bottom line is this. These headphones are comfortable, lightweight, eye-catching and can take a hell of a lot of rough use. (That doesn't mean you twirl them around your head like a lasso or use them as nanchucks!) Bung them in your rucksack, get bumped by the mass of humanity in the local, maybe drop them a few times (not from your apartment!) - they'll not complain.
Please don't go by most of the reviews about "fantastic sound" or "I-listened-to-these-and-found-nirvana" stuff.
These aren't top of the line headphones. And I won't pretend to be some "audiophile" with super-hearing powers. My music sounded good. Clean bass, nice treble and good sound. Zillion times better than the crap standard earphones usually lying around one's home.
My wife like these so I gave them to her to use. And bought myself the ATHM50x! :) (Am reviewing these separately)
As luck would have it - on a trip to Germany in 2018 - my wife had these flicked from the seat while on a tour bus.
Therefore I had to turn to Headphone Zone again and buy her a pair of RHA S500 Universal's in-ears (as she specifically asked for that type) (Again, reviewed separately)
So what do I recommend?
it's this. If you are in the market looking for an upgrade for shitty earphones and would like to buy an on-ears headphone which is comfortable, doesn't hurt your head or heat up your ears and sounds great - then buy these.
At the price you are paying - you'll be happy you did.
