The Beyerdynamic T 1 2nd Gen are over-ear semi-open headphones with anew and improved Tesla driver & lowered impedance. T 1's increased efficiency also provides greater power reserves for dynamic, undistorted sound and electric signals are converted nearly losslessly into soundwaves.

The headphones' impressively wide frequency range gives an outstanding precision and precise bass, while its 600 Ohm voice coil provides perfect transient- and phase fidelity. Unlike the older verion, the Beyerdynamic T 1 2nd Gen come with detachable cables.

The minutely and hand selected details of these headphones along with the elegant design perfectly compliment the high quality technical details. The Five-Year manufacturer's warranty is another fantastic plus.

    Handcrafted Design & Supreme Comfort

Made in Germany, the T 1's elegant looks compliment its technical achievements. And even the smallest of details have been selected by hand. They also provide very high wearing comfort due to its velour earpads and leather headband pad.

    Made in Germany

Beyerdynamic is a German audio equipment manufacturer renowned the world over for making some of the finest headphones. There's no convincing a staunch studio professional to consider any other brand if they're looking for monitoring headphones. The DT Series (770, 880, 990, 1770, 1990) are easily the greatest studio headphones we've ever known.

    Tesla Technology

Completely re-engineered transducers (drivers) based on a neodymium ring magnet with optimized magnetic field characteristics. This combination creates a magnetic field inside the transducer which is far stronger (> 1,2 Tesla - measuring unit for magnetic flux density - with current headphones the strength of the magnetic field is(< 0,65 Tesla) than in standard headphones. Because of this increased magnetic field, the voice coil is more compact but still provides a very high degree of efficiency. The membrane, consisting of a 3 layer "compound foil", delivers an extremely precise frequency response and guarantees, in collaboration with the strong magnet, a transparent and distortion free sound.

    Most Powerful Headphone Magnets

The T1 2nd Gen has a closed-back design and features the world's most powerful headphone magnets. Those ubermagnets dramatically improve efficiency and lower distortion. The T 1 plays crystal clear, excels with faultless impulse fidelity and long-range, power sound quality.

Superb Clarity and Sound with Precise Bass

These semi-open circum-aural headphones also provide dynamic, undistorted sound and nearly lossless conversion of electric signals into sound waves. The highly lightweight 600 Ohm provides transparency and perfect impulse fidelity. Moreover, a carefully intensified bass gives fans of contemporary music, in particular, the low-frequency foundation that they are looking for

Fantastic Headphones (Continuation...)

The T1 is simply better than them in sound quality while listening to music, be it mp3 or FLAC or DSD. However for watching movies, I still prefer the HD650 due to its forward mids (esp the vocals), I can hear the dialogues even at really low volumes (though I am yet to complete the200-hour burn-in for T1). Please note that the T1s are simply fantastic for listening to music even at low volumes even now, its just that for movies, I prefer the HD650 vocals.
I was able to drive the T1 using the JDS Labs C5 amp running from FIIO X3 2nd Gen line-out. However the T1s sounded much better when driven with Chord Mojo (DAC & Amp) and it’s a delight to hear this combination.
To summarize, I would say that the Beyerdynamic T1 2Nd Gen is a clear winner and would please any audiophile. Just that it being a 600-ohm headphones, need to be driven by compatible DAC and amp.
Thanks to headphonezone for making this accessible to India at a very competitive pricing.

very fantastic headphone, detailed and balanced sound. of course one dedicated amplifier is required : i use this headphone with chord mojo. this superbe headphone is more better than sennheiser hd60,audeze el-8 and audiotechnica a1000z all of them i purchased. the price is hight but the quality and performance is high too.

Fantastic Headphones

There are reviews stating that the Beyer dynamic T1 2Nd Gen are equivalent to what a BMW is in the world of cars and opinion polls in head-fi.org where this headphone has more votes than Sennheiser flagships or high end planar magnetics (from Audeze). After hearing the T1 2nd gen for few days, I can tell that all those claims and posts are indeed correct, this headphone is absolutely fascinating.
Out of the box the T1 sounded little bit muddy (esp the vocals). As per some articles these require around 200 hours of burn-in to realise its full potential, so I started with the music playback. Now after around 60 hours of burn-in the headphones sound extremely sweet, and the muddiness seems to have disappeared. So yes, these headphones do require burn-in.
Comfort: These are extremely comfortable even for long listening periods. The ear-pads are soft, and the clamping force is not high.
Isolation: These headphones offer best of both the worlds by being semi-open. I do have other open and closed headphones. But the semi-open design give you the airiness of open headphones, at the same time does not make external noises interfere you from listening to the music. So it’s probably the perfect design for isolation without compromise in sound quality.
Sound signature: This is the most imp aspect of any headphones, and the T1 really shines in this area. What sets them apart are better instrument separation, smooth sound without loss in clarity, exquisite full-bodied bass, rich & slightly recessed vocals, the list can go on and I am running out of words to describe how good these headphones sound. In the premium, highly acclaimed category, I do own the Sennheiser HD650 (open) and the Shure 1540 (Closed) headphones. But the T1 is simply better than them in sound quality while listening to music, be it mp3 or FLAC or DSD. However for watching movies, I still prefer the HD650 due to its forward mids (esp the vocals), I can hear the dialogues even at really low volumes (thou...
