The Home Audition Program by Headphone Zone is your chance to try expensive audio gear for 3 days by simply paying a security deposit. We will ship the product to you at a convenient time depending on demo unit availability and pick it up when your 3 days are up.
Why we started the program is because headphones are best heard. Being in the headphone business, we realize that headphones are a sensory product. What better way to decide whether you like a headphone than by trying it at leisure in your living room? Since the program is open to all, this is your chance to venture into the world of audiophilia.
Your home = your experience studio with The Home Audition program. It's not easy, nor is it cheap, for us to open up Experience Studios all over the country. Any one who loves audio knows that to really delve into the hobby is to make a generous investment. Our program allows you the luxury of choice so you buy better!
When partaking in the program, please be careful with the units. Goes without saying, but we have very limited demo units available. We expect that you care for it as if it were your own.
I am positively suprised with the "home audition" experience that I had with the campfire cascades and kudos to the Raghav and his team for this idea and making it a hasselfree and smooth process.
Salim as a headphones expert has sound knowledge to guide a lot of music enthusiastics with the appropriate choice for IEM/Headphones. The flexibility offered with some date changes for the pickup is highly appreciated. It just further shows the professionalism and commitment of the team and passion for they do.
I have had great time listening to the headphones and would probably end up buying it post my trials with some if not all of the headphones like the Focals radiance, Audio Technica AWAS, and if possible the nighthawks and Hifiman Ananda's and Final Audio Sonorus III
While none of these are currently available in the catalogue for home audition, hence my buying decision postponed.
As for the cascade's, if it were available at a discounted price of around +/- 50k, I can imagine myself enjoying them right now while I write this review.
Some of my personal views and
humble suggestion would be to keep updating the catalogue more frequently as I see some good stuff missing as mentioned above with other brands - Especially the Japanese brands.
And also have a genre based audiophile section from beginner to hifi recommendations for headphones. The sound signature and brand names correlation explained does help but can be better with specifics as lot of brands do segment their products even within a "house sound signature"
Also maybe its good to have some rare collection of limited edition "used" headphones like the PM1 or nighthawks/nightowls, ultrasounds etc. and have them sold as "used" or maybe even auction😉.
If possible some tie up with bank/cards to avail discounts will only keep the company at par with other players and benefit buyers.
The market for good used headphones is only growing with some companies delivering good condition used headphones to India.
Look forward to my purchase soon.
"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent" - Victor Hugo
I got a chance to listen to these through 3 days home audition program.
Sound quality: First impression the sound was airy.
I do own a few popular headphones like Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and V Moda M100, But I was not satisfied with their sound. They sounded harsh to my ear and congested. So I was looking to go a step up on the ladder and tried Cascade. The first thing that hit me was refined sound, smooth, no harshness.
Comparison with Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro another close back in similar price range Cascade was having a comfy pad and Bass was extenuated but that soft sub bass that you can feel in your gut was not there in either. DT 1770 Pro sound was smoother and easy to listen to.
Ergonomics: Headphone is a bit heavy. The overall construction doesn’t give that snug fit. If you rotate your head too much the headphone will fall away. Though the ear pad was very comfy but missed soft feel of memory foam.
