In a nutshell, ships within 24 hours basically means that your product will be shipped out or dispatched from our warehouse within 24 hours after placing the order. It also indicates that the products are readily available at our warehouse and once we receive your order, we dispatch it out at the earliest either on the same day or the next working day depending on when you’ve placed your order.

A lot of our customers assume that it means their order will get delivered to them within 24 hours, but that’s not what it means. For an order to reach you, it can take anywhere up to 3-4 business days, depending on which part of India you are placing an order from.

In case you receive the DENAFRIPS - Ares 12th-1 with a manufacturing defect, please raise a return request within 7 days of delivery.

However, if you receive an incorrect / damaged / different product or one with missing accessories, please raise a return request within 24 hours of delivery. In case you receive a product with a missing, incorrect, or faulty accessory, you will be given a replacement accessory instead of the entire product.

Please make sure that the product is in the original packaging with all the accessories it came with. We'll also need an unboxing video and images of the parcel to investigate about the discrepancy. The Ares 12th-1 operates as a non-oversampling R-2R DAC, ensuring the incoming signal maintains its original sampling rate without additional processing. As a genuine NOS (Non-Oversampling) DAC, the Ares 12th-1 remains committed to preserving the audio signal's integrity without alteration. The DENAFRIPS Ares 12th-1 incorporates an exclusive Balanced R-2R + 6-bit DSD architecture, offering a pure and organic audio experience. It supports up to 24-Bit/1536KHz, native DSD1024 (Direct Stream Digital), and PCM1536 (Pulse Code Modulation), making it a Digital To Analogue Converter with an R-2R DAC and discrete resistors. A notable addition is the customised AC mains power socket, designed in-house using UPOCC gold-plated copper, emphasising the importance of high-quality power supply for superior sound. The Ares 12th-1 features a non-switched AC mains socket and is further enhanced by a 60VA O-Core Shielded Transformer, also crafted in-house with UPOCC copper. This oversized transformer ensures a stable and ample power supply to the DAC's multi-stage linear power system, enhancing its overall performance.

An essential element in the R-2R DAC architecture is the utilisation of ultra-precise resistors. In the DENAFRIPS Ares 12th-1, these resistors are of the highest quality, boasting 0.01% high precision, and they undergo a meticulous manufacturing process that incurs additional costs, contributing to the DAC's advanced technology. Each of these resistors is handpicked, methodically matched through precision machining, and verified by human oversight to meet stringent quality standards and exhibit minimal thermal impact. A total of 480 of these precision resistors work in harmony to deliver a remarkably musical listening experience. The Ares 12th-1 employs an Altera FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) for its Digital Signal Processing, offering an unparalleled musical journey.

The DENAFRIPS Ares 12th-1 showcases an enhanced Linear Power Supply section, now integrated with a capacitors bank that bears the 'DENAFRIPS' brand, all manufactured according to DENAFRIPS' precise audio specifications. Alongside the constant current LDO Linear Regulators, a substantial heatsink is securely affixed. To cater to the power needs of the FPGA, modular USB module, and balanced R-2R Ladder Networks, eight multi-stage LDO Linear Regulators are deployed. Within this device, DENAFRIPS takes the extra step of hand-winding the oversized O-Core transformer, meticulously including multiple layers of copper shielding between the windings. This particular design choice effectively reduces both electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic fields (EMF).

The DENAFRIPS Ares 12th-1 now boasts an anodised aluminium chassis available in both silver and black colour options, catering to those who prefer a more compact DAC with a silver finish. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the Ares 12th-1 enhances the already impressive build quality of the Ares 12th. This new iteration includes an I²S input and has undergone a redesign of both the back and front panels. The I²S connection enables compatibility with the DENAFRIPS DDC (Digital To Digital Converter) and other I²S transport options. The front panel incorporates input selection buttons for USB, COAX, OPT, I2S, OS/NOS, Phase, and Mute. Meanwhile, the rear panel has been upgraded to offer XLR and RCA as analogue outputs and Coax, Optical, I2S, and USB as inputs, providing increased flexibility for the Ares 12th-1.

Yep! They are different. DENAFRIPS has taken things forward and has redesigned the Ares 12th-1 to include an I2S input. DENAFRIPS has also upgraded and redesigned the chassis of the Ares 12th-1, which is now made of anodised aluminium and also features various performance enhancements.

What is R-2R Ladder DAC and how is it better than the binary-weighted resistor DAC?

The R-2R Ladder DAC (Digital-to-Analogue Converter) uses an R-2R ladder network within the inverting adder circuit to deliver an analogue output that is almost equal to the digital (binary) input. Since the R-2R Ladder DAC uses R and 2R resistors, the development of highly accurate resistors becomes easier. This is an advanced DAC system that efficiently overcomes the limitations of the traditional binary-weighted resistor DAC. If the digital inputs contain more bits, an apt number of additional R-2R resistors are added to the system. Due to these advantages, the R-2R Ladder DAC is considered to be superior to the binary-weighted resistor DAC.

No words to describe the beauty of listening to Denafrips Ares 12th-1DAC. Listening to the all genres of music continuously (non stop) and never I was engaged so profoundly into music.Actually my listening room size is 12><7 (office) and the source is Shanling ET3 CD Transport , WiiM Mini Streamer and FIIO X5 Third Gen High Res DAP along with SMSL DA 09 Class D amp with the MICCA Rb42 Speakers. With the available audio equipment I believe I have not exploited the fullest capabilities of the Denafrips Ares 12 -1 DAC.I have only used the Optical and Coaxial outputs of DAC not yet explored the most popular I2s and USB outputs. Configuration of both USB and I2s functionality is a bit cumbersome so for the time being I have avoided those modes. So far so good.Vinshine team is so courteous to respond to all my silly and petty doubts. I once again thank Mr Raghav and the team of experts of Headphonezone without whose help and support I wouldn’t have had this majestic audio equipment and thereby the joy of listening to them. I recommend this masterpiece of equipment for all audiophiles. After configuring both USB and I2S modes I once again review this beautiful DAC. Good Luck.
