What's in the box:
Q1 is my first device from fiio venture . Right now i have Asus zenfone 2 and RHA ma 750 as my daily drivers .. So i must say the quality have improoved but not the magic i expected . By this i mean like my Earphones with q1 and zenfone 2 are sounding better than HTC 10 . As my ma750 are pretty natural so the bass boost switch did just a little magic and i can say that now my rig sounds a bit Fuller. Overall i am really happy with my pruchase its certainly a value for money and can flatten the harsh soundings rig too . Desighn wise they are like awesome. You can strip them to your phone with included accessories. One pro tip use one hand mode if sticking to your phone. Also i love them on sound level 3.5 to 4 which is pretty loud and u can go upto level 9 with no distortion in sound whatsoever . any queries google them .
FiiO - Q1
Audio Input to Q1: USB
Q1 Settings: High Gain with Bass boost On
Software Settings: Equaliser and any other sound Enhancement Switched Off
Audio output: MEE M6 Pro
I purchased the Q1 since I was quite disappointed with my M6 pro's for its lack of punchy lows and somewhat harsh highs. With the settings I have mentioned, it has made the listening experience with the M6 much more enjoyable. The bass is punchier yet does not interfere with the mids. The highs don't sound harsh anymore either. The instrument separation is better than before and the mids have also improved slightly.
Hence paired with the Q1, whatever disappointment I had with M6 pro's are solved!
Please note that using the Q1 as Amp only using 3.5mm Audio input doesn't really improve the sound quality in case of M6 pro ( Could be the same case with other IEMs too).
The cost of my earphone setup (M6 pro + Q1) has turned out to be approximately 7000 INR (~3000 M6 pro , ~4000 Q1).
Do I recommend Q1: Yes definitely, although it would be better if you can get even better pair of Monitors in the first place.
The M6 Pro's are really good as they are, but the Q1 takes it to a whole new level by fulfilling the shortcomings in the M6 pro.
As you can see I have spent 4000 INR more than what I actually set out to spend, hence do checkout some other IEM's costing upwards of 7000 INR. I am sure that there must be some IEM in the range of 7000-10000 INR (RHA 750?) which sounds better than my current setup.
Nice design, Good sound
