        Compatibility

Can I pair my Jabra device with my PC or Mac?
Jabra headsets are optimized to be used with smartphones/mobile phones. They are not specifically optimized to be used directly with a PC or Mac.
Pairing your Jabra device with your PC or Mac may work for audio streaming, but not for call control which is not supported by many PCs or Macs. However, this is highly dependent on the specific model of your computer.
Note: When connected to a PC or Mac, audio quality may vary, because Bluetooth is not optimized for audio streaming on many PCs and Macs.
Before you connect wirelessly, make sure your PC or Mac meets the following requirements:
        - The appropriate Bluetooth drivers from the manufacturer of your PC or Mac have been installed. Jabra does not supply Bluetooth drivers, and Jabra devices are therefore dependent on the drivers already installed on a PC or Mac.
        - Your PC or Mac supports the Bluetooth profiles that support your Jabra device. The Bluetooth profiles for Jabra devices are listed in the technical specifications that are located on the Jabra product support pages.
The latest operating system updates from Microsoft or Apple have been installed on your PC or Mac.

        Headphone-Zone-Jabra-Elite-FAQ-2
Why does the charging case suddenly flash purple when I put in my earbuds?
The charging case will flash purple when the charging case, the earbuds, or both are updating.
When you place the earbuds in the charging case, the firmware version of the charging case is verified to ensure it is up-to-date. The earbuds are only updated when you initiate this from the Jabra Sport Life app.
Do not open the charging case until it stops flashing purple. However, if the update is interrupted, the charging case can be updated later.
How do I update my Jabra Elite Sport?
Prerequisites : Jabra Sport Life app - Android
Jabra Sport Life app - iOS

To update Jabra Elite Sport you need to use the Jabra Sport Life app.
If Jabra Sport Life is open, it will automatically download any new firmware in the background, and then notify you when the firmware is ready to install.
To manually check for an update, follow these steps:
        - Open Jabra Sport Life.
        - Make sure your Jabra Elite Sport is paired with your smartphone.
        - Tap Settings.
        - Tap Headphone settings.
        - When new firmware is being downloaded to the earbuds, the progress will be displayed in Jabra Sport Life.
Tap the new firmware version and follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: Allow the firmware to update completely. This may take up to 15 minutes and is indicated by the LEDs flashing purple. During the firmware update, avoid opening the charging case until at least 10 seconds after it has stopped flashing purple. In case the LEDs do not stop flashing after 15 minutes, open the lid of the charging case and close it again.
How do I reset my Jabra device?
When you reset your Jabra Elite Sport, the list of devices that have been paired with it is cleared. Use the following steps to reset:

How do I change the language on my Jabra Elite Sport?
        Prerequisites

Jabra Sport Life app - iOS
To change the language on your Jabra Elite Sport, you need to use the Jabra Sport Life app. You can choose between English, German, French, Chinese, and Japanese.

        - When the download is complete, you will be notified to install the language.
        - Follow the onscreen instructions.
        - Place the earbuds in the charging case when you are instructed to do so, and then close the lid.
When the update is running, the LED on the charging case will flash purple. DO NOT open the lid until the LED has stopped flashing.
It takes up to 10 minutes to change the language.
Note: Changing the language used in the earbuds does not change the language used in Jabra Sport Life.
Test the fit of the earbuds
To check the fit of your Jabra Elite Sport earbuds, start a workout and jog in place (150 to 160 steps per minute) for approximately 30 seconds. If the heart rate monitor shows your pulse increasing steadily, the fit is correct. If your pulse remains in the 80 to 100 BPM (beats per minute) range, or if it jumps very high, the fit of the earbuds may be incorrect due to the following reasons: the positioning of the sensor, the choice of EarWing, or the size of EarGel. To adjust the fit, use the following guidelines:
        Select the correct EarWing
For the most secure fit during your workout, and for accurate heart rate monitoring, try each of the different EarWing styles. We recommend that you try the small EarWing which is already on the earbud, with all the EarGel sizes. If necessary, you can try the medium or large EarWing.
To change the EarWing, gently pull it off the earbud. Pull on the new EarWing, and ensure that the ridge on the inner lining is aligned with the tab on the earbud. This will secure the EarWing to the earbud and prevent it from falling out during a workout.
        Position the EarWing
The top of the EarWing should fit tightly into the ridge of the ear.
        Select the correct EarGel size
For the optimal audio experience, try each of the different sizes and types (silicon and foam) of EarGel. The fit should feel tight and secure in your ear.
How do I find the firmware version of my Jabra Elite Sport?
Prerequisites : Jabra Sport Life app - Android
Jabra Sport Life app - iOS

To find the firmware version, use the following steps in Jabra Sport Life app.

        iOS:
        - Tap Settings.
        - Tap About.
        - Tap Technical info.
        - In this section, you find the current firmware version and language that are installed.

        - Tap About.
        - Tap Technical info.
        - In this section, you find the current firmware version and language that are installed.
How do I get the correct fit for my Jabra Elite Sport and the heart rate monitor?
The earbuds must fit correctly to enable the accurate detection of your heart rate. If your heart rate cannot be detected, try a different size EarGel or EarWing. The correct fit will also give an optimal audio experience.

        Select the correct EarWing
For the most secure fit during your workout, and for accurate heart rate monitoring, try each of the different EarWing styles. We recommend that you try the small EarWing which is already on the earbud, with all EarGel sizes. You can then try the medium or large EarWing.
To change the EarWing, gently pull it off the earbud. Pull on the new EarWing, and ensure that the ridge on the inner lining is aligned with the tab on the earbud. This will secure the EarWing to the earbud and prevent it from falling out during a workout.

What is the benefit of turning off Bluetooth® Smart?
You can prevent other nearby devices, which are also enabled with Bluetooth Smart, from accidentally selecting and pairing with your earbuds instead of with the intended headset. To turn off Bluetooth Smart, use the following steps:
        1. Turn on your Jabra Elite Sport.
        2. Press and hold the Sports button located on the right ear bud (approximately 10 seconds) until “Bluetooth smart off” is announced.
        3. To turn on Bluetooth Smart again, repeat steps 1 and 2.
Note: When you turn off Bluetooth Smart, you can only use the heart rate monitor with the Jabra Sport Life app. It will not work with third party apps.
Why does my headset keep connecting to another device?
If you use your headset in the vicinity of other devices that also have Bluetooth® Smart turned on, another user may accidently select your earbuds instead of their own when attempting to connect to their device. To prevent this from happening, turn off Bluetooth Smart by using the following steps:
        1. Turn on your Jabra Elite Sport.
        2. Press and hold the Sports button located on the right earbud (approximately 10 seconds) until “Bluetooth smart off” is announced.
        3. To turn on Bluetooth Smart again, repeat steps 1 and 2.
Note: When you turn off Bluetooth Smart, you can only use the heart rate monitor with the Jabra Sport Life app. It will not work with third party apps.
Why does my headset not charge when it is connected to my computer?
Some computers use a USB suspend mode to save power. This may cut off power, so the headset cannot be charged on the USB port.
Some computers may have a dedicated USB charging port, which is identifiable by its yellow color or a battery icon next to it. For more information, refer to the user manual for your computer.

You can also use the following alternative charging methods:
        Jabra options:
Purchase a Jabra AC adapter or Jabra car charger online here or at a nearby retailer.

        Third party options:
Use a third party Micro-USB charger to charge your headset on your mobile phone. A third party charger should meet the following requirements:
        - A mono/stereo Bluetooth headset, such as Jabra Stealth or Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless, is charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 500mA and a maximum of 2100mA.
        - Speakerphones/music speakers, such as Jabra Speak 450 or Jabra Solemate Mini, are charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 500mA and a maximum of 2100mA.
        - In-car speakerphones, such as Jabra Tour, are charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 750mA and a maximum of 2100mA.
        - The Jabra Solemate and Jabra Solemate 2nd generation with NFC are charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 1000mA and a maximum of 2100mA.
        - For the Jabra Solemate Max, only the original AC adapter is recommended.
When using a third party charger, make sure that the charger is certified for use in the country you are located in, and that you use the correct plug for the country you are located in.
Note: Charging time may vary depending on the output of the charger.
Why does the heart rate monitor not respond when I run or cycle?
If the heart rate monitor does not respond during sustained physical exercise, it may be because the earbuds do not fit properly and therefore, do not accurately detect your heart rate. See the following fitting recommendations:

        Position the EarWing
The top of the EarWing should fit tightly into the ridge of the ear.
        Select the correct EarGel size
To find the best fit and for the optimal audio experience, try each EarGel size, both the silicon and the foam types. The fit should feel tight and secure in your ear.

        Select the correct EarWing
For the most secure fit during your workout, and for accurate heart rate monitoring, try each of the different EarWing styles. Remove the current EarWing and pull the new EarWing onto the earbud, as shown. You may have to stretch the EarWing into position. We recommend you try the small comfort wing which is already on the earbud, with all EarGels sizes. You can then try the medium or large EarWing.
Why has my Jabra Elite Sport suddenly turned off?
Jabra Elite Sport will automatically turn off to save battery in the following situations:
The right earbud is out of range, or it has not been connected with your smartphone for at least 15 minutes.
To turn the earbuds back on, press the Multi-function button.
The right earbud has not been active for 1 hour.
To turn the earbuds back on, press the Multi-function button.
The left earbud has not been connected with the right earbud for 15 minutes.
To turn the earbuds back on, press the Volume - button. Alternatively, place both earbuds in the charging case and close the lid. After a few seconds, reopen the lid, and they will turn on again.
