  • Audio & Compatibility

Why do I hear static noise on my Jabra headset?
Wireless devices are susceptible to interference that may affect audio quality and result in static. To avoid blocking the Bluetooth signal, follow these guidelines:
Make sure the distance between your headset and the paired device does not exceed 33 feet (10m).
Make sure there is a direct line of sight between your headset and phone. Avoid placing objects that can block radio signals, between paired devices. These include walls, doors, and windows.
Avoid environments where computers, microwave ovens, and high concentration of Wi-Fi are present
Keep your headset and mobile phone on the same side of your body.
Avoid placing your mobile phone in a back pocket.
Note: Low battery capacity in your Jabra headset and mobile phone may affect the Bluetooth range.
Why can I use my Jabra headset for phone calls but not hear music through it?
Verify that your mobile phone supports the A2DP Bluetooth profile. Also, verify in the Bluetooth settings that the headset is selected for media streaming.
Can I pair my Jabra device with my PC or Mac?
Jabra headsets are optimized to be used with smartphones/mobile phones. They are not specifically optimized to be used directly with a PC or Mac.
Pairing your Jabra device with your PC or Mac may work for audio streaming, but not for call control which is not supported by many PCs or Macs. However, this is highly dependent on the specific model of your computer.
Note: When connected to a PC or Mac, audio quality may vary, because Bluetooth is not optimized for audio streaming on many PCs and Macs.

Before you connect wirelessly, make sure your PC or Mac meets the following requirements:
The appropriate Bluetooth drivers from the manufacturer of your PC or Mac have been installed. Jabra does not supply Bluetooth drivers, and Jabra devices are therefore dependent on the drivers already installed on a PC or Mac.
Your PC or Mac supports the Bluetooth profiles that support your Jabra device. The Bluetooth profiles for Jabra devices are listed in the technical specifications that are located on the Jabra product support pages.
The latest operating system updates from Microsoft or Apple have been installed on your PC or Mac.
For more information, visit the support pages for your PC or Mac

    - Intense light reflections may give false feedback even when you are not wearing the headset.
How do I charge my Jabra device?
Charging cables and methods vary depending on the Jabra product. Find the appropriate guidance for your device.
Use the supplied USB cable to charge your device on a computer. Some computers may have a dedicated USB charging port, which is identifiable by its yellow color or a battery icon next to it. For more information, refer to the user manual for your computer.
Some computers use a USB suspend mode to save power. This may cut off power, so the device cannot be charged on the USB port, even though the light indicator on the device shows that it is charging.
If the battery level on the device has not changed after charging for two hours, you can use the following alternative charging methods.

    Jabra options:
Use a Jabra AC adapter or Jabra car charger. You can purchase it online at a nearby retailer.

    Third party options:
Use a third party Micro-USB charger to charge your device on your mobile phone. A third party charger should meet the following requirements:
    - A mono/stereo Bluetooth headset, such as Jabra Stealth or Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless, is charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 500mA and a maximum of 2100mA.
    - Speakerphones/music speakers, such as Jabra Speak 450 or Jabra Solemate Mini, are charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 500mA and a maximum of 2100mA.

For the Jabra Solemate Max, only the original AC adapter is recommended.
When using a third party charger, make sure that the charger is certified for use in the country you are located in, and that you use the correct plug for the country you are located in.
Note: Charging time may vary depending on the output of the charger.
How do I check the fit of my Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless?
    Fit test
To check the fit of your Jabra Sport Pulse earbuds, start a workout and jog in place (150 to 160 steps per minute) for approximately 30 seconds.
If the heart rate increases steadily, the fit is correct.
If the heart rate remains in the 80 to 100 BPM (beats per minute) range, or if the heart rate jumps very high, the fit may be incorrect due to the following: the positioning of the sensor, the choice of EarWing, or the size of EarGel.

To adjust the fit, use the following guidelines.
    Fitting
The earphones must fit correctly to enable accurate heart rate detection. If your heart rate cannot be detected, try a different size EarGel or EarWing. View the Fitting guide in the Jabra Sport Life app.

    Select the correct EarGel size
For the optimal audio experience, try each of the different EarGel sizes. The fit should feel tight and secure in your ear.

To disable Bluetooth Smart, follow these steps:
    Turn on the headset.
Press and hold the Sports button (approximately 10 seconds) until a voice prompt indicates either “Bluetooth Smart on” or “Bluetooth Smart off”.
Note: When you disable Bluetooth Smart, you can use the heart rate monitor only with the Jabra Sport Life app. It will not work with third party apps.
Why does my headset keep connecting to another device?
If you use your headset near other devices that have Bluetooth® Smart enabled, it is possible that another user accidently selected your headset instead of their own when attempting to connect to their device.
To prevent this from happening, disable Bluetooth Smart by using the following steps:
    - Turn on the headset.
    - Press and hold the Sports button (approximately 10 seconds) until a voice prompt indicates “Bluetooth Smart on” or “Bluetooth Smart off”.
Note: When disabling Bluetooth Smart, you can only use the heart rate monitor with the Jabra Sport Life app. It will not work with third party apps.
Why does my headset not charge when it is connected to my computer?
Some computers use a USB suspend mode to save power. This may cut off power, so the headset cannot be charged on the USB port.
Some computers may have a dedicated USB charging port, which is identifiable by its yellow color or a battery icon next to it. For more information, refer to the user manual for your computer.

You can also use the following alternative charging methods:

    Jabra options:
Purchase a Jabra AC adapter or Jabra car charger online here or at a nearby retailer.

    Third party options:
Use a third party Micro-USB charger to charge your headset on your mobile phone.

    - The Jabra Solemate and Jabra Solemate 2nd generation with NFC are charged by a charger/cable that supports a minimum of 1000mA and a maximum of 2100mA.
For the Jabra Solemate Max, only the original AC adapter is recommended.
Why does the heart rate monitor not respond when I run or cycle?
If the heart rate monitor does not respond during sustained physical exercise, it may be because the earphones do not fit properly and therefore, do not accurately detect your heart rate. See the fitting recommendations below, and view the Fitting guide in the Jabra Sport Life app.

For optimal audio experience, try each of the different EarGel sizes. They should fit tightly and securely in your ear.

Why does the Jabra Sport Life app use English instead of the language of my Android phone?
Prerequisites: Jabra Sport Life app - Android

    Japanese
    Chinese Simplified

If your Android phone uses a language that is not supported, then Jabra Sport Life uses English which is the default language.
If you use Chinese Traditional on your Android phone, Jabra Sport Life will use English. To change the language used by Jabra Sport Life from English to Chinese Simplified, you must install Chinese Simplified instead of Chinese Traditional.
Note: This change may be applied to other apps that use the same language logic as Jabra Sport Life, and this could result in corresponding changes to the language they use.
Why does the Jabra Sport Life app use English instead of the language of my iPhone?

If your iPhone uses one of the supported languages, Jabra Sport Life will automatically detect and use the same language. The supported languages are:
    English (default language)

    - Tap Settings on your iPhone.
    - Tap General > Language & Region > iPhone Language.
    - Select the supported language you want to install.
    - You will be prompted to select between Change to Chinese Simplified and Keep Chinese Traditional as the primary language.

    - When the iPhone has rebooted, the Preferred Language Order will appear as follows with Chinese Simplified added as the secondary language.
    - Turn your Jabra headset off and on.

There is a difference between the language of the voice readouts from Jabra Sport Life and the language of the headset. If you follow the preceding scenario, and your headset uses another language, you need to also change the language on the headset so that voice guidance will be in Chinese. If you do not change the language on the headset, the voice readouts from a workout will be in Chinese, and voice guidance from the headset, such as battery status, will be in the default language, which is English.
Note: This change may be applied to other apps that use the same language logic as Jabra Sport Life, and this could result in corresponding changes to the language they use.

  • "Jabra’s Sport Pulse Wireless earbuds deliver fantastic fitness functionality, but a poor seal makes for sub-par sound quality."

"Jabra's delivered a superb pair of sports headphones. The added heart-rate monitoring makes them great for runners and gym-goers who want fewer cables, excellentsound and more useful tracking data."

"If you prize its built-in heart-rate monitor over top-notch sound quality, the Jabra Sport Pulse one of the better wireless sports headphones out there, particularly in terms of fit and features."

"Jabra can't make up for mediocre sound performance, even with the unique, handy heart rate monitor built into its gym-friendly Sports Pulse Wireless Bluetooth earphones."

"You won't get the sound quality that you'd expect with any ordinary pair of headphones at this price, but for the added fitness extras it'll be a price that many sports enthusiasts are willing to pay."

Perfect

Was looking for a good pair of wireless earphones for working out. Good sound quality (Not as good as many of the wired phones i use). Not very heavy on bass (which is good). The heart rate sensor is pretty accurate. Pairing is easy. The bundled smartphone fitness app is also good. Solid build quality, good looks and a handy carrying case. Comes with an assortment of eartips and earwings to chose from. I use mine with comply foam sport eartips(not essential). Doesn't fall off, doesn't require frequent adjusting. Few negatives I noticed, battery life could have been better, I get around 4-5hrs after a full charge. Sound quality could have been better (but again its not intended to be an audiophile level product). A perfect workout companion.
