Also known as the ‘Swedish Beatles’, ABBA is the biggest Pop quartet to ever come out of Sweden. Right from their breakthrough in 1974 with ‘Waterloo’, ABBA has grown to become one of the biggest pop groups ever topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1983. Formed in 1972 in the Swedish capital city of Stockholm, ABBA was founded by two married couples: Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson.
ABBA is credited to have transformed pure pop into high art and went on to rule the 70s with blockbuster songs like Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on Me. Their songs reached multi platinum sales and dominated the pop radio space around the world.
Today, it's been more than a decade since the band was disbanded but continues to enjoy popularity and following in pop culture.
