Looks good, Performs average.

Here's my review of S500 U after 3 days of use :
S500U are probably the best looking earphone I have ever owned and I have owned earphones from more than a dozen brands. The Aluminum driver house, nylon braided cable, everything looks very well done. But looking good is not an earphone's primary objective, they should sound good too and that's where S500 lags a little bit.
S500U has clearly been streamlined for casual music listeners who listen to music while they commute to work.
It's not balanced. It has a very clear V shaped sound signature.
Bass is plenty but never overpowering. It's not overly powerful or thumpy so, Yes Bassheads should stay away.
Highs i:e Treble can be a little sharp but not piercing, totally fixable with the right EQ settings.
What S500 U lacks are the mids, they are recessed, considerably recessed, enough to ruin some tracks. The Bass and the treble together put the mids and vocals on the backstage. This is where I regret not getting the Byron while they were in stock coz everyone's saying they are well balanced.
Anyway, These are still very bright and lively sounding earphones.

Detailed and Balanced!

I have purchased both the MA390U and the S500U.
The first thing that you'll notice is that the Bass is 20% less than the 390u. The design looks really cool and they are pretty durable and comfortable... Blah blah blah... You guys already know that. Lets just talk about the sound. The sound is balanced and very well detailed with a little bit of pump to the higher frequencies. The bass is present but just not dominant. If the song packs a punch you will for sure feel the thumps. The treble notes are very well detailed and stand out in almost every track with a pure and smooth sweeping flow but sometimes a little bit harsh. RHA claims that the 140.1 driver unit provides full-range detailed audio from every track/genre and I think thats 90% true. I've been hearing that they produce recessed mids but honestly I don't think so. The mids/vocals are very well present, pleasant and detailed in almost every track. Audio manufacturers these days create budget earphones with the same sound signature, boosted bass and recessed highs, I think thats why people like me are having a hard time with the (S500's) Balanced or flat sound signature, we are missing the real deal.
Lastly I would like to say that give them a couple of days of burn-in and also music is a very subjective thing but if you try to be a little bit open minded, you'll discover a lot more!!!❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊🎧🎧🎶🎶

Clear sound which is not bass boosted but a narrow soundstage

I had a good experience buying these on Headphonezone - although the earphones were out of stock for a few days, managed to get them eventually. The tracking and delivery were on-point. What impressed me most was how accurate the reviews were - an ordinary listener like me could get a realistic idea of what the product would be like- so my review may seem similar in some aspects. Jumping ahead to the review:

Pros:
1. Clear sound: these earphones sound super clear; very less cable noise
2. Passive noise isolation: these earphones are small so fit into your ear and hardly allow any external sounds to get in
3. Top build quality: the materials feel premium - both the aluminium main body and the fabric wire.. only downside is the plastic wire from the Y
4. Accessories: comes with lots of pairs of earbuds and a clip, so it’ll fit all ears and needs
5. Has a mic: haven’t tested this as such, but the fact it has one is nice
6. Not bass boosted: can be a pro or con depending on what you listen to but I personally prefer faithful frequency reproduction

Cons:
1. Narrow soundstage and okayish resolution: this was disappointing - could really feel the difference between this and more expensive earphones in this department ... the resolution isn’t the greatest and one can hear some muzzling, especially in the mids and lows... even the stereo separation isn’t great
2. Soft carry case: the case is a simple mesh cover and won’t protect your equipment against shocks
3. No in line volume control: they could’ve surely included some universal volume controls there - else just having a play/pause - even non-universal ones have those working on all platforms

Other earphones I considered: Beyerdynamic Byron (didn’t buy because it wasn’t compatible with iOS, but maybe should have)
Sennheiser CX 3 (didn’t see great reviews for it anywhere)
Bang and Olufsen Beoplay H3 (too expensive, will wait for a few years to buy this)
