PRESENTING THE 6-BAND BALANCED EQUALISER - THE LOKIUS
The Schiit Lokius is a 6-band balanced equaliser as in tone control. It is like a Loki Mini+, with two more bands and balanced inputs and outputs. It is a simple device with six knobs that help you get the tonality and the perfect sound from your devices. The Lokius does not involve apps or graphic confusion; it is just a simple equaliser. The Schiit Lokius allows you to tweak the sound to your preference with a super-high-performance, discrete, single-gain-stage, LC-filtered "equaliser" at your fingertips.
SIX BANDS OF EQUALISATION FOR GETTING THE PERFECT SOUND
The Schiit Lokius has six bands of equalisation on tap, together with balanced and single-ended inputs and outputs. It allows you to select the "input" with a convenient front-panel switch. Choose equalised output or complete bypass with nothing in the signal path except a relay and a resistor. The Schiit Lokius integrates with any system, large or small, speaker or headphone, balanced or single-ended, for complete flexibility.
MAKE YOUR RECORDINGS SOUND BETTER WITH THE LOKIUS
Everything that we listen to is not recorded perfectly for most recordings. Additionally, the gear you use, such as a speaker or a pair of headphones, may be dark or bright. Lokius lets you adjust for these imperfections. But more than that, you can make your system sound the way you want. Deep bass? Absolutely. Sparkling highs? Yes again! Go ahead—treat yourself to your perfect sound.
TRANSFORM YOUR AUDIO SYSTEM AND ENJOY TRUE TRANSPARENCY
Lokius uses Schiit’s two-stage load-invariant superbuffer topology to drive a single discrete current-feedback gain stage with a passive inductor-capacitor and gyrator-capacitor network. Lokius features super-high-quality parts, including sealed Alps potentiometers, Wima and Panasonic film capacitors, dual-stage regulation with HF smoothing, 0.5% thin-film resistors, and quality Neutrik connectors. The translation of this tech-speak is that you can forget noisy, veiled equalisers you may have used in the past. Lokius transforms your system without getting in the way or making itself known.
EXPERTLY DESIGNED AND BUILT IN TEXAS
The design, assembly, test, and QC of the Lokius are done in Corpus Christi, Texas. And the vast majority of the total production cost of Lokius chassis, boards, etc., goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. The chassis of the Lokius are made in California, with the PCBs in Nevada. The Lokius has been designed to perfection. The front panel consists of input select, Process/Bypass and various frequency knobs ranging from 20Hz to 16kHz and a Power LED. The rear panel consists of Balanced input, Single-Ended input, Balanced output, Single-Ended output, Power switch, and Power input.

The Schiit Story
The story of Schiit Audio begins with two veteran audiophiles Jason Stoddard, formerly of Sumo, and Mike Moffat, formerly of Theta coming together to shake things up a bit. Both of them have extensive experience in developing lots of audio and A/V products including the Andromeda III, Cobalt 307, DS Pre and Angstrom 200. From power amplifiers, I/V conversion stages, D/A converters, relay-switched stepped attenuator volume controls in preamps to developing the first DTS home theatre surround processor on the market, Schiit Audio has developed a lot of audio products over the years.
Getting into Designing Headphones
Headphones are the need of the hour everyone who likes music uses a headphone. Therefore Schiit Audio moved to develop personal audio equipment while continuing to design a speaker-based system which includes the industry-leading preamps, amps and DACs. So right now Schiit Audio has a plethora of audio products ranging from personal audio to speaker-based systems. Schiit designs affordable audio products that bring happiness in your lives.
True Multibit DACs and Unique Digital Filter
Unlike ordinary DACs that use delta-sigma, NOS (new old stock) D/A chips, multibit chips, high-cost R2R ladders, Schiit uses unique DSP-based closed-form digital filter which improves the sonic performance of the multibit DAC. Therefore the Schiit's multibit technology brings all of it together using the current-production, medical/military grade D/A converters.
Innovation in Analog
Schiit has opted for an innovative approach for the analog side as well. Even the most affordable Schiit headphone amplifier is a miniature, fully discrete, DC coupled, current-feedback power amplifier. Schiit is credited for introducing Continuity output stage to solve the issue of transconductance droop which was common in Class AB amplifier design. Schiit has also developed balanced topologies like Nexus in Ragnarok 2 and a perfect combination of tube and solid-state with Coherence in Lyr 3.
Designed with High-End Materials for Durability
All the Schiit products are designed for solidity and durability. Even the smallest of the products are made of aluminium and steel while the larger products are made of high-end C core transformers, power supply filtering and low-noise control. All the products have to go through severe testing procedures including the latest APx555 audio analyzer and Avermetrics analyzers. Every product from Asgard and up goes through burn-in to address the issues faced during the initial period of usage. Schiit takes care of all the service and support requirements so that you can concentrate on great sound.
Handcrafted in the USA
Schiit believes that local control of all the aspects of production improves the delivering of the product. Therefore all the Schiit products are designed and made in the USA and most of the cost of the components are going to the US-based companies. Assembled in the USA means that Schiit's chassis guys are from San Fernando Valley, Schiit transformers are made in California, Schiit boards come from the east coast of the USA and all the designing, assembling and testing of Schiit products happen in Valencia, California.

It has been a few days since I plugged the Loki into my system and I'm sure I cannot live without it. As the description says it allows you to tune the sound according to your taste. I have found myself enjoying the poorer recordings in my collection much more since the Loki is plugged in. I can also compensate for issues with room acoustics. The unit is sufficiently transparent to allow you to clearly hear differences between cables used upstream in the chain. The build and finish is excellent and the knobs have a firm motion. I would say that this goes a long way towards correcting issues with tonal balance in your recordings or system components. I also like to listen at low volumes and the Loki helps me get a good tonal balance at very low volumes too - people using older stereo amps will remember the loudness control and tone controls (these are no longer common with most audiophile equipment today)
However, do not expect this to make something really crappy sound good - though it will go a long way towards making it sound better!
Everything considered, this is something I would recommend to everybody. Like all the products from Schiit, the value for money proposition is fantastic.
The device does its job well in terms of controlling the frequencies. It works better than 31 channel equalizers in terms of usage as well as distortion. The bypass mode is perfect.
One problem that I am struggling with is a loud hum. I have very sensitive speakers so Loki is almost useless for me unless I find a way out. Plugging into different power sources has not solved the issue. It uses AC power so I cannot try a different power supply. The hum goes off completely in the bypass mode, so it is not related to any other part of my system :(
