PRESENTING THE ALL-NEW HYBRID HEADPHONE AMP AND PREAMP - THE LYR+
Since the company's founding in 2010, Schiit has been a stalwart in the audio industry. All Schiit products have a lot of versatility and are very adaptable. The company is known for its headphone line-up, which offers raw power without jitter or distortions. Schiit, with its all-new Lyr+, has broken all barriers in terms of technology. The Schiit Lyr+ is a super-high-end, super-powerful, tube hybrid headphone amp and preamp. It is the only headphone amp in the world that goes seamlessly from tube to solid state, using Schiit's exclusive Fusion Architecture™.

OFFERS THE VERSATILITY OF SOLID-STATE AND TUBE AMP WITH PREAMP FUNCTIONALITY
Schiit has designed the Lyr+ to be highly versatile. For you to enjoy the best of both worlds, Lyr+ offers maximum versatility. The Lyr+ switches seamlessly to its internal solid-state gain stage, based on exotic depletion-mode MOSFETs if you don't plan to use tube mode. You can always switch to tubes such as 6SN7-type, and Lyr+ switches over to 100% tube voltage gain with the MOSFETs out of the picture. The Schiit Lyr+ is the answer to the magic of Fusion Architecture.

RELAY LADDER VOLUME CONTROL FOR ULTIMATE TRANSPARENCY AND PERFECT CHANNEL MATCHING
The Schiit Lyr+ is the first compact headamp that gives you relay ladder volume control, for ultimate transparency and perfect channel matching, from the lowest to highest volumes. Coupled with a "powerful" Continuity™ bipolar output stage, full DC coupling throughout, separate regulated high-voltage and low-voltage supplies, and microprocessor oversight, Lyr+ is a small marvel.

POWER-PACKED PERFORMER WITH ULTIMATE SCALABILITY AND REMOTE OPERABILITY
The Schiit Lyr+ delivers up to 6W RMS per channel through the standard ¼” headphone jack, so there’s no need for balanced headphones to take advantage of all that power. But, at the same time, advanced oversight ensures Lyr+ is safe for every headphone. DC, overcurrent, and tube sensing mean this is a modern tube amp. Add Bifrost 2 or Modius as a DAC and a Vidar or Aegir as a speaker amp, and Lyr+ is the heart of the system stack, ready for headphones, speakers, and analogue & digital sources. You can even turn off Lyr+’s preamp outs if you want to listen to headphones. The Schiit Lyr+ also comes with a fully functional remote that allows you to access functions like Input select, toggle between Tube/MOSFET mode, Gain control, Mute, Preamp output Enable/Disable, and Volume Up/Down. You can control the Lyr+ from the comfort of your couch using the supplied remote.

MASTERFULLY DESIGNED AND BUILT IN CALIFORNIA
The vast majority of the total production cost of Lyr+ chassis, boards, transformers, assembly, etc., goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. The chassis are made minutes from Schiit's facility. The PCBs are done just over the hill or in NorCal, and transformers are made in California. The Schiit Lyr+ is an elegant device with a minimalistic design. The front panel consists of an Input select switch, a Preamp output enables switch, Volume control, a MOSFET indicator, Gain select, and a 6.35mm headphone jack. The rear panel consists of RCA inputs, a Preamp output, an On-Off switch, and an AC input.

The Schiit Story
The story of Schiit Audio begins with two veteran audiophiles Jason Stoddard, formerly of Sumo, and Mike Moffat, formerly of Theta coming together to shake things up a bit. Both of them have extensive experience in developing lots of audio and A/V products including the Andromeda III, Cobalt 307, DS Pre and Angstrom 200. From power amplifiers, I/V conversion stages, D/A converters, relay-switched stepped attenuator volume controls in preamps to developing the first DTS home theatre surround processor on the market, Schiit Audio has developed a lot of audio products over the years.

Getting into Designing Headphones
Headphones are the need of the hour everyone who likes music uses a headphone. Therefore Schiit Audio moved to develop personal audio equipment while continuing to design a speaker-based system which includes the industry-leading preamps, amps and DACs. So right now Schiit Audio has a plethora of audio products ranging from personal audio to speaker-based systems. Schiit designs affordable audio products that bring happiness in your lives.

True Multibit DACs and Unique Digital Filter
Unlike ordinary DACs that use delta-sigma, NOS (new old stock) D/A chips, multibit chips, high-cost R2R ladders, Schiit uses unique DSP-based closed-form digital filter which improves the sonic performance of the multibit DAC. Therefore the Schiit's multibit technology brings all of it together using the current-production, medical/military grade D/A converters.

Innovation in Analog
Schiit has opted for an innovative approach for the analog side as well. Even the most affordable Schiit headphone amplifier is a miniature, fully discrete, DC coupled, current-feedback power amplifier. Schiit is credited for introducing Continuity output stage to solve the issue of transconductance droop which was common in Class AB amplifier design. Schiit has also developed balanced topologies like Nexus in Ragnarok 2 and a perfect combination of tube and solid-state with Coherence in Lyr 3.

Designed with High-End Materials for Durability
All the Schiit products are designed for solidity and durability. Even the smallest of the products are made of aluminium and steel while the larger products are made of high-end C core transformers, power supply filtering and low-noise control. All the products have to go through severe testing procedures including the latest APx555 audio analyzer and Avermetrics analyzers. Every product from Asgard and up goes through burn-in to address the issues faced during the initial period of usage. Schiit takes care of all the service and support requirements so that you can concentrate on great sound.

Handcrafted in the USA
Schiit believes that local control of all the aspects of production improves the delivering of the product. Therefore all the Schiit products are designed and made in the USA and most of the cost of the components are going to the US-based companies. Assembled in the USA means that Schiit's chassis guys are from San Fernando Valley, Schiit transformers are made in California, Schiit boards come from the east coast of the USA and all the designing, assembling and testing of Schiit products happen in Valencia, California.

When you bias a Class AB amplifier, both transistors conduct at low levels. When the output goes outside of this low level, though, only one half conducts. Effective transconductance is halved. You can pursue an optimum biasing strategy for Class AB that minimizes this transconductance discontinuity, but it is absolutely there. You can squint your eyes and say that the emitter resistors swamp the effects, but it’s still there. You can use a ton of feedback to squash it flat, but, again, it is absolutely still there. Sumo addressed this with its Transconductance Linearization error servo based on the work of Hawksford and Cordell. This was a complicated way to get around it, but it did work. Another way to address the problem is to bolt on huge heatsinks and crank everything as far into Class A as possible, so the transconductance is always doubled. That’s great, except for the fact you end up with huge, heavy, hot amplifiers.
Schiit's Continuity™ constant transconductance output stage is a serious attempt to solve this problem. It uses both N-channel and P-channel devices on both positive and negative sides of the power supply, all conducting at the same time, and it uses additional devices that linearize the transconductance outside of the Class A bias region. It addresses both the problem of transconductance doubling and of mismatch between N-and P-channel devices.
This isn’t just hand-waving—the Continuity output stage measures 10dB better THD to clipping.
