|BOX CONTENTS||Schiit - Mani|
Don’t sweat it, This Schiit product is covered by a 2 Years manufacturer's warranty.
This was my second purchase from Headphone Zone and I want to take a moment to thank Raghav and his team on the way this order was handled. I had pre-ordered this on 28th December 2016 due to be delivered in 4 weeks. I got to know on 23rd Jan that due to delays in Shciit fulfilling the order, Mani will not be available till mid-March. I was of course given an option to cancel or wait. I chose to wait and finally got delivery of this on 25th March. Between this period, I got prompt updates from Sanjana whenever I inquired.
Now, was the Schiit Mani worth the 3-month’s wait? Absolutely. I always thought that the Phono stage on my Marantz PM6004 integrated amplifier was good enough. Currently I am using a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC with the factory fitted Ortofon OM2 Red. Was I surprised when I hooked the Mani – it has opened the sound of this set-up by a considerably audible margin. The sound is more detailed now, the bass is a little better (the OM2 Red does not have a great bass in the first place). Most of the impact though has been in the highs which have become less harsh (for lack of a better word) than in my previous set up. The sound is much more smooth and clear. In a nutshell, I like what I hear. Initially, I encountered some hum but that was quickly overcome with a little bit of repositioning efforts and moving the unit away from the amplifier power cord. This little gem is now tempting me to try new cartridges with my Pro-Ject TT.
Thanks to Headphone zone for bringing products like Schiit in India which are great VFM. This is my second Schiit product and I am eying the third one now ;)
I was a bit surprised to find a phono preamp in a website that deals with personal audio.However thanks a lot to headphonezone for getting this here in India.The Mani is a revolutionary product at its price range,almost impossible to believe kind of a product.I had been using a Graham Slee Communicator MM only phono stage for about a year before the Mani.The GS is a great phonostage in its own right.My heavily modified Rega RP3 was supposed to deliver greater goods but was restrained by the abilities of my existing phono stage.So before taking the big plunge into the Avid I decided to give Mani a try.Afterall it was all for 11.9K only.And thank God I did! I have demoed few phono preamps in my life and the Mani surpasses all in every sonic measure possible.Even those that cost in the rage of $1000.Schiit has proved if the basics are done right a great product can be created at very affordable prices.My Rega fitted with Ortofon 2M Bronze now sings.The volume dial of my Naim amp now stays around the 6- 7 o clock position from where it used to be previously-around 10-12.And I may say here,that there are multiple gain settings possible from 30db to 59db by the gain switches to match every possible cartridge output.The Mani is capable of playing both MM and MC cartridges.If you have a turntable which does not have a in built phonostage(In which case you are simply stuck with your bad luck) this is all that you will possibly ever need.Exemplary product.Outstanding value for money!
Everything is fine about this phono ,anyone can buy it as price is also affordable,the only thing bugged me was,this is 110 v us version so the Indian version power adapter felt cheap Chinese , although built quality of adapter is above average.phono amp performance is superb, fantastic,mind blowing at this price level
I was on the lookout for a phono amp that will not break the bank as i just wanted to try out the difference the amp would make in the sonic signature. I use a rega planar 1 with Marantz Pm6004 amplifier and Q Acoustics 3050 towers. I did not expect to be knocked off my feet. the treble and mid range became more airy for lack of a better word. The instrument separation became better and overall, the sound was cleaner and more open. At the price point, this si a sure fire winner.
Schiit - Mani
At first I would like to thank Mr.Ragav & his team for providing us the product in India and also like to request them to make available more turntable accessories like (cartridges, stylus etc.) in reasonable price like they did for Mani.
I booked the product on 7th June at 11.45 AM and delivered on 8th at 14.30 hrs from Chennai to Kolkata, it is really unbelievable for me surprising as well.
Came early from office for my Mani and connected with my stereo system Audio Technica AT LP120, AT95E cart, Schhit Mani peramp and Onkyo HT-S3300 amp.
After setting the Mani's gain at 59db noise distortion started so, I fixed it at 48db and and it is started sounding nice. After few hrs of continuous listening sound improved quite a lot. Next Saturday and Sunday was my weekly off so,I tried to pullout the built in peramp as advised at Youtube by various AT turntable owner. It took one n a half hrs to get the job done and now no built in preamp in between my AT95E cart and Schiit Mani, so I was able to achieve the actual audio quality from my AT95E cart. It was superb experience for me and now I am happy enough to spend huge amount to get such audio quality. Mani not only improves the bass but it also improves high frequencies as well. The clicks and pops are there but it is not so prominent when built in preamp was there. Previously it feels like I am listening a recorded music but now it feels like the artist performing in front of me.
Finally, if you are fond of music of yesteryear's then " Vinyl Is Final", nothing is comparable with it's analog sound quality.
