PERFECT PREAMP FOR YOUR PHONO STAGE - THE SCHIIT MANI 2
The Schiit Mani 2 is simply the highest-performing phono preamp available. With super low noise and high RIAA accuracy, plus flexibility for pretty much any cartridge, MM, MC, or MI, it sets the standard for performance and capability. It provides super low-noise performance usually only seen in much more expensive phono preamps. It combines TI’s low-noise OPA1612 with a passive RIAA network with 2% precision film capacitors and 0.1% thin-film resistors in a DC-coupled topology. It also has an advanced dual-filtered power supply and +/-16V rails with a switchable 1- or 2-pole passive LF filter. This passive LF filter offers a high overload margin, outstanding transparency, and precision.
GET TOTAL CONTROL OVER LOADING, GAIN, AND LF FILTERING
The Schiit Mani 2 doesn’t sacrifice flexibility; in contrast, it is the most flexible, capable phono preamp. You have total control over the Gain, Loading, and LF filter. With Gain Choose 33, 42, 48, or 60dB of gain, for virtually any cartridge from Decca to low-output MC and MI models. The loading allows you to choose 47KΩ, 200Ω, 47Ω, or 38Ω, and 47pF, 100pF, 150pF, or 200pF for virtually any MM, MC, or MI cartridge. You can choose 6dB/octave or 12dB/octave of purely passive low-frequency filtering to help with warped records or other subsonic problems with the LF filter.
METICULOUSLY DESIGNED AND BUILT IN TEXAS WITH ATTENTION TO DETAILS
The Schiit Mani 2 was designed and built at Schiit's Corpus Christi, Texas facility, and the vast majority of the total production cost of Mani 2's chassis, boards, assembly, etc., goes to US companies manufacturing in the USA. The chassis is made in California and the PCBs are made in Nevada.

The Schiit Story
The story of Schiit Audio begins with two veteran audiophiles Jason Stoddard, formerly of Sumo, and Mike Moffat, formerly of Theta coming together to shake things up a bit. Both of them have extensive experience in developing lots of audio and A/V products including the Andromeda III, Cobalt 307, DS Pre and Angstrom 200. From power amplifiers, I/V conversion stages, D/A converters, relay-switched stepped attenuator volume controls in preamps to developing the first DTS home theatre surround processor on the market, Schiit Audio has developed a lot of audio products over the years.
Getting into Designing Headphones
Headphones are the need of the hour everyone who likes music uses a headphone. Therefore Schiit Audio moved to develop personal audio equipment while continuing to design a speaker-based system which includes the industry-leading preamps, amps and DACs. So right now Schiit Audio has a plethora of audio products ranging from personal audio to speaker-based systems. Schiit designs affordable audio products that bring happiness in your lives.
True Multibit DACs and Unique Digital Filter
Unlike ordinary DACs that use delta-sigma, NOS (new old stock) D/A chips, multibit chips, high-cost R2R ladders, Schiit uses unique DSP-based closed-form digital filter which improves the sonic performance of the multibit DAC. Therefore the Schiit's multibit technology brings all of it together using the current-production, medical/military grade D/A converters.
Innovation in Analog
Schiit has opted for an innovative approach for the analog side as well. Even the most affordable Schiit headphone amplifier is a miniature, fully discrete, DC coupled, current-feedback power amplifier. Schiit is credited for introducing Continuity output stage to solve the issue of transconductance droop which was common in Class AB amplifier design. Schiit has also developed balanced topologies like Nexus in Ragnarok 2 and a perfect combination of tube and solid-state with Coherence in Lyr 3.
Designed with High-End Materials for Durability
All the Schiit products are designed for solidity and durability. Even the smallest of the products are made of aluminium and steel while the larger products are made of high-end C core transformers, power supply filtering and low-noise control. All the products have to go through severe testing procedures including the latest APx555 audio analyzer and Avermetrics analyzers. Every product from Asgard and up goes through burn-in to address the issues faced during the initial period of usage. Schiit takes care of all the service and support requirements so that you can concentrate on great sound.
Handcrafted in the USA
Schiit believes that local control of all the aspects of production improves the delivering of the product. Therefore all the Schiit products are designed and made in the USA and most of the cost of the components are going to the US-based companies. Assembled in the USA means that Schiit's chassis guys are from San Fernando Valley, Schiit transformers are made in California, Schiit boards come from the east coast of the USA and all the designing, assembling and testing of Schiit products happen in Valencia, California.
THD: Also way lower on Mani 2.
Gains: tweaked a bit, but pretty close to Mani the Original.
Loading: Mani 2 adds a bunch more options versus Mani: Selectable R load of 47KΩ, 200Ω, 47Ω, or 38Ω, and selectable C load of 47pF, 100pF, 150pF, or 200pF
LF Filter: Mani didn’t have any low-frequency filtering at all. Mani 2 adds a selectable 1- or 2-pole passive LF filter, centred at 15 Hz (that is, 6dB/octave or 12dB/octave roll-off.)
Topology: Although both use a passive RIAA filter, Mani was capacitor-coupled, Mani 2 is DC-coupled with a DC servo. Well, unless you use the passive LF filter. But that’s your choice. Choices are good!
Power supply: Mani ran with a total of 10V rails (+/-5V). Mani 2 more than triples this to 32V (+/-16V). This means way more headroom.

This was my second purchase from Headphone Zone and I want to take a moment to thank Raghav and his team on the way this order was handled. I had pre-ordered this on 28th December 2016 due to be delivered in 4 weeks. I got to know on 23rd Jan that due to delays in Shciit fulfilling the order, Mani will not be available till mid-March. I was of course given an option to cancel or wait. I chose to wait and finally got delivery of this on 25th March. Between this period, I got prompt updates from Sanjana whenever I inquired.
Now, was the Schiit Mani worth the 3-month’s wait? Absolutely. I always thought that the Phono stage on my Marantz PM6004 integrated amplifier was good enough. Currently I am using a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC with the factory fitted Ortofon OM2 Red. Was I surprised when I hooked the Mani – it has opened the sound of this set-up by a considerably audible margin. The sound is more detailed now, the bass is a little better (the OM2 Red does not have a great bass in the first place). Most of the impact though has been in the highs which have become less harsh (for lack of a better word) than in my previous set up. The sound is much more smooth and clear. In a nutshell, I like what I hear. Initially, I encountered some hum but that was quickly overcome with a little bit of repositioning efforts and moving the unit away from the amplifier power cord. This little gem is now tempting me to try new cartridges with my Pro-Ject TT.
Thanks to Headphone zone for bringing products like Schiit in India which are great VFM. This is my second Schiit product and I am eying the third one now ;)
I was a bit surprised to find a phono preamp in a website that deals with personal audio. However thanks a lot to headphonezone for getting this here in India. The Mani is a revolutionary product at its price range, almost impossible to believe kind of a product.I had been using a Graham Slee Communicator MM only phono stage for about a year before the Mani. The GS is a great phonostage in its own right. My heavily modified Rega RP3 was supposed to deliver greater goods but was restrained by the abilities of my existing phono stage. So before taking the big plunge into the Avid I decided to give Mani a try.Afterall it was all for 11.9K only. And thank God I did! I have demoed few phono preamps in my life and the Mani surpasses all in every sonic measure possible.Even those that cost in the rage of $1000.Schiit has proved if the basics are done right a great product can be created at very affordable prices. My Rega fitted with Ortofon 2M Bronze now sings. The volume dial of my Naim amp now stays around the 6- 7 o clock position from where it used to be previously-around 10-12.And I may say here, that there are multiple gain settings possible from 30db to 59db by the gain switches to match every possible cartridge output. The Mani is capable of playing both MM and MC cartridges. If you have a turntable which does not have a in built phonostage(In which case you are simply stuck with your bad luck) this is all that you will possibly ever need.Exemplary product.Outstanding value for money!
At first I would like to thank Mr.Ragav & his team for providing us the product in India and also like to request them to make available more turntable accessories like (cartridges, stylus etc.) in reasonable price like they did for Mani.
I booked the product on 7th June at 11.45 AM and delivered on 8th at 14.30 hrs from Chennai to Kolkata, it is really unbelievable for me surprising as well.
Came early from office for my Mani and connected with my stereo system Audio Technica AT LP120, AT95E cart, Schhit Mani peramp and Onkyo HT-S3300 amp.
After setting the Mani's gain at 59db noise distortion started so, I fixed it at 48db and and it is started sounding nice. After few hrs of continuous listening sound improved quite a lot. Next Saturday and Sunday was my weekly off so,I tried to pullout the built in peramp as advised at Youtube by various AT turntable owner. It took one n a half hrs to get the job done and now no built in preamp in between my AT95E cart and Schiit Mani, so I was able to achieve the actual audio quality from my AT95E cart. It was superb experience for me and now I am happy enough to spend huge amount to get such audio quality. Mani not only improves the bass but it also improves high frequencies as well. The clicks and pops are there but it is not so prominent when built in preamp was there. Previously it feels like I am listening a recorded music but now it feels like the artist performing in front of me.
Finally, if you are fond of music of yesteryear's then " Vinyl Is Final", nothing is comparable with it's analog sound quality.
Just started using it. The TT is sounding really awesome now.
Mani is well built and awesome value for money.
The best entry level preamp you can get for your turntable. Sounds great and the build quality is awesome!
So glad to know that you love them:) We look forward to serving you again.
Everything is fine about this phono ,anyone can buy it as price is also affordable, the only thing bugged me was, this is 110 v us version so the Indian version power adapter felt cheap Chinese , although built quality of adapter is above average.phono amp performance is superb, fantastic, mind blowing at this price level
I was on the lookout for a phono amp that will not break the bank as i just wanted to try out the difference the amp would make in the sonic signature. I use a rega planar 1 with Marantz Pm6004 amplifier and Q Acoustics 3050 towers. I did not expect to be knocked off my feet. the treble and mid range became more airy for lack of a better word. The instrument separation became better and overall, the sound was cleaner and more open. At the price point, this si a sure fire winner.
