best headphones of its price range, mic is the only minus
The bass is weird, the sub-bass is there and then the frequencies around 40-60Hz take a dip.
The treble is harsh and results in ear fatigue just in a few minutes.
Doesn't have the Sennheiser sound signature (or Sennheiser veil as some say), I like the Sennheiser sound signature that results in smooth and laid back sound that you can enjoy for hours without getting tired, but this one lacks it and add to that the harsh highs and you got a terrible product that isn't really a Sennheiser (sound wise).
I upgraded from a Sennheiser MX 170 and I can say that sounds much better than the CX 180. CX 180 has no soundstage, poor imaging but the instrument separation is okay, cannot say anything about the clarity though because the sharp highs just make my tinnitus worse, so I cannot really listen to it critically.
So I ditched it and ordered the Soundmagic E10C(the most awarded IEM under $50), it's on the way as I write this review.
I expected more from Sennheiser with their IEMs especially when the MX170 which are old style earbuds and cheap sound so good, and cheap Philips IEMs(that I tested, probably were SHE3590) outdid them in clarity. mids and smooth sound.
So, terrible headphones for the price. But the build is fine.
design & comfort is good. For sound, bass is very impressively crystal clear!! You can easily pickup on bass strings. even at high volume it doesn't get blurred.
Received original product, was impressed by sound qualify, loudness & bass but headset stopped working just after 1 month even thought i took great care of them. Now on papers they have 2 years warranty but service center is 100km+ away so i can't get them replaced :(
its really pleasing
