Packaging & Presentation & Features:
The idea from Sennheiser here was to present the IEM's to you, when on opening, as if they were the priciest gemstones, put up on display at the jewelry shop! And boy have they nailed it! It took me a gaze of half an hour & plenty of show-off among the office colleagues where these arrived at, before getting them off the really well built case to actually get hands-on with them!.Solid battery life of 10 hours & seamless connectivity aided by the NFC paring!
How do these Sound?
Simply put, marvelous! The sound signature is so up-beat & fun all over that they can change your mood in a matter of seconds. They are very involving, have a surprisingly wide soundstage & the overall sound has a V-type sound signature. However, before people run away from the V-sound moniker, the presentation of sound is lush & rich and very responsive to an EQ variation. By default, the low end is deep, but without making the midrange muddy & there is an ever so slight weightiness in the mid-bass region making some kick drums really pop! The highs are surprisingly bright & crisp for something which has more emphasis on the low end frequencies. Since they support the USB audio feature, sound via the wired mode is ever so slightly more forward and beats come on with aplomb & since these wireless IEM's do support AptX and AAC, wireless sound reproduction from a compatible source sounds almost on par, if not the same as in being plugged in via the USB cable.
Do they need burn-in?
Yes & a No! Out of the box they sound fantastic, yet for critical listening, pre burn-in they sound a little rough where the bass has plenty of presence but less weighty and impactful and the highs are a little razor edged without being really eerie and sharp & the midrange is a little recessed. Post 80-100 hours of burn-in with the pink & white noise modules, they settle to their sweet spot! Smooth Treble, a little more forward mids, and a punchier bass reproduction!
Headphone is very nice.
But it is made in China
I would have been happier if it would have been made in Germany
