The epitome of flat sound signature

Of all the earphones and headphones with a flat sound signature that I've used, this is the one that actually lives up to that "flat" definition. I've opened the insanely compact and pretty box which is round-shaped and surprised by the very well-thought-out packaging! The build of the earphone is sturdy. There is a very cool iOS-Android toggle switch in the remote of the earphone! I've not seen this kind of implementation anywhere else! The blue variant which I've bought looks very cool! Though I found the wearing mechanism somewhat discombobulating.

Now, the sound. It is divine! Truly flat, as I've said earlier. You'll notice that the moment you put them on. The rated impedance is only 17 ohms, so it is easily driven by any music source. ( I've even used it with an ancient HTC phone with Windows mobile OS in it to test it, and it ran flawlessly!)The mids are crystal-clear, with bass and treble firmly put into their respective places. Now, as I listen to a lot of classical music (both Western and Indian), I was apprehensive about the treble a bit. All my previous flat sounding earphones or headphones leaked treble into the mids; but not in this case.

The list of songs that I've played is as follows, along with the singers and the systems in which I played them:
1. Goodbye Jimmy Reed (Bob Dylan) on Spotify, Android
2. Mother of Muses (Bob Dylan) on Spotify, Android
3. Maze Maaher Pandhari (Pandit Bhimsen Joshi) on Youtube Music, Android
4. Aarambhi Vandin Ayodhyecha Raja (Pandit Bhimsen Joshi) on Youtube Music, Android
5. Can't Truss It (Public Enemy) on Spotify, iOS with bass boost off
6. Can't Truss It (Public Enemy) on Spotify, iOS with bass boost on
7. I Feel The Earth Move (Carole King) on Amazon Music, iOS
8. Hard To Make A Stand (Sheryl Crow) on Apple Music
9. Midnight Sky (Miley Cyrus) on Spotify, Linux
10. Concerto for Violine and Orchestra No. 1 in G minor, op. 26 [Marek Janowski(baton) and Noah Bendix-Balgley(concertmaster)] on Berliner Philharmoniker App, Android

I'm very satisfied with the product! This is the first-ever product that I'm reviewing on the first day of using it. You can bet that I love it very much! The fact that it was delivered by Headphone Zone on the birthday of Begum Akhtar(7th October) was the icing on the cake! I hope this review helps make a purchase decision. Thanks for reading this.

Low on bass

High tonal quality, but suffers on account of bass. Overall, prefer the performance of my Beyerdynamics in-ear over these. Also, the bulky ear-piece does not lend itself to a good in-ear fit.

We really appreciate your review, we hope it will help other potential customers to make an informed decision.

Shure AONIC 215

It was not easy to get the right fitment into the ear. The cable is so stiff. The ear plugs are not easy to replace. It appears as if the the earplugs are glued that it doesnt come out with a twist and pull as shown in the manual. No complaints on the audio quality.

So glad to know that you love sound quality. The MMCX connection can get little sturdy in the beginning but it does loosen up with time. For proper fit we would recommend you get the foam tips it offers a comfortable and secure fit for long hours.

Avoid it

Avoid it if you're a touring musician or a mix engineer.
- extremely bad fit
- if your band has more than 5 members playing in it. This is not for you!
- 3k worth vsonics vsd 3 is better than shure aonic 215.

Pathetic product and yea comes with a mic only cable. So be prepared to spend more on a cable.

Good Isolating In-Ear Monitors with a Mic and Sonics for the price

Design wise, the fit is excellent. With the Foam tips provides fantastic, bordering on riskily silent passive sound isolation; Which adds this sense of focus on the music being played; akin to the tightness of music in an acoustically treated studio, however, here through the 215's sonic character/colour of course.

Talking of which, the image/sound stage feels a bit narrowed if one really pays attention to it, however, the in-ear design with the driver's tuning and in a full sealed fit scenario, brings the music to a convincingly pleasurable musical experience! The low end on these Blue In-ears seems a bit more bloomed out but not necessarily in an annoying destructive way. The presence and strength of many of the mids and high frequencies especially with a certain sense of sheen on vocals makes listening to these a surprisingly enjoyable experience, if one were not really nitpicking.
Also, it may not be considered a benefit to most others out there but in a way I'm glad the high cut roll off starts early and falls to 17.5KHz, as even if you do play it loud, your ears are protected upto a certain extent from the energy of the highest of the frequencies which is the first to go in hearing loss as one ages. A random plus point imho.

I wanted a good sounding wired IEM with a Microphone, well-built cord-damage free, stable and sound isolating earphones, convenient to take on rides outside, hence chose this amongst the others available on HPZ at this price bracket. I also am considering using these IEMs while tracking in the Studio personally, as due to the nature of the isolation with foam tips, I get to also hear the resonance of my body more clearly while singing and hence can adjust my body to deliver a better performance.

All in all, not an IEM with the widest soundstage nor the best frequency balance and spectrum, but for what it delivers in its combination of features and musical performance for the price, I'd recommend them.

The SHURE PLAY App development and bugs on Android are a pain to deal with. Not much response from Shure Support for the App. So, unable to comment on the additional features and sonics available through the PLAY App. Let's hope they fix the bugs soon.

Thanks a lot for your detailed and genuine feedback, we're glad that you have such positive thoughts about the product and we'll share your thoughts with the brand as well. It'll also help our fellow customers to make the right choice!
