Everyone enjoys a little peace at some point and wants to shut themselves off from the outside world. This is where Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) comes into the picture. So what exactly is Active Noise Cancellation?
Noise Cancellation refers to blocking out background noise/ambient noise. But let's be clear: No Noise-Cancelling Wireless Headphones can eliminate all sound; they can only considerably reduce outside noise, creating the impression that the noise is suppressed. However, when the phrase "Active Noise Cancellation" is used, it signifies that the Wireless Headphones are actively searching for noise to block it out.
ANC is a technology that reduces or cancels out the surrounding or ambient noise. It reduces low-frequency noise like the sound of a jet engine or car engine. ANC specifically reduces low-frequency noise well. However, it is not capable of cancelling out high-frequency noise optimally. Wireless Headphones with ANC deliver class-leading ambient noise reduction, significantly improving sound quality.

You must have most likely noticed that wireless signals do not travel an infinite distance. The farther a wireless signal goes, the weaker it gets. This loss is known as path loss, and it defines the range of connectivity. This range of connectivity is dependent on the wireless protocol in use like Bluetooth. Three classes offer standard ranges of connectivity with Class 1 devices transmitting at 100 mW with a range of 100 meters or 328 feet. Most Bluetooth headsets and headphones are Class 2 devices that transmit at 2.5 mW with a range of 10 meters or 33 feet. Lastly, Class 3 devices transmit at 1 mW with a range of fewer than 10 meters.

Well straight out of the box, the Focal Bathys are the perfect combination of cutting-edge technology, superior comfort, and stunning design, offering a truly immersive listening experience. The added Noise Cancelling feature makes the Bathys a Maverick in all respects.
The Focal Bathys is an excellent-sounding debut ANC wireless headphone and certainly a considerable upgrade on all the previous wireless closed-backs I have reviewed to date.
The Bathys from Focal are the best-sounding wireless headphones I've heard yet. Exceptionally open sound, Highly detailed, USB DAC, Solid battery/fast charging, Bluetooth multipoint.
The design is eccentric in appearance with real leather used for the headband, with curvy earcups that feature grilles to help provide its distinctive Focal aesthetic.
They sound good. The ANC works well. Balance achieved. But for pure music listening, the Bathys understandably lag behind the rest of Focal’s traditional headphone lineup.
After spending a ton of time with the Bathys, I firmly believe it to be one of a kind. For now, there is no other headphone that blends the experience of premium headphones with Bluetooth.

Coming to the product, first - the design. It is really unlike any other product in the market. It grabs the second stare from everyone. It is an attention grabbing for sure. Glowing logos adds to it(it can be switched off via app). So if you like to flash your stuff, go for it.
Coming to the sound, it possesses a very detailed neutral sound profile. I also used it in the DAC mode thru USC C, it does increase the clarity but not by much.
Sound is really awesome. But, I’ll rate them on 3rd position after Sennheiser momentum 4 on 1st, AirPods Max on 2nd position. But it is way better than Bose NC 700 and QC 45’s.

I hope you are well. I got these after waiting for almost 5 months as an anniversary gift for my father.
Initially they sounded terrible and I wanted to return the product as I felt cheated as if bought Beats headphones or Monster HDMI cable. I was filled with rage and the criticism from my father was heart wrenching. You can imagine how bad an Indian parent's reaction can be for 65k worth headphones.
Aakansha your representative tried to help but their solutions were useless and I was told that I will have to keep the headphones if they find it okay.
More than anything else I questioned my abilities to gauge products and this was a huge dent to my ego. I have been using HiFi audio products such as Shure Se535, iFi xdsd from a very longtime hence out of the box Focals were bad even paired with a dac.
With a dent in my confidence I took matters in my own hands. I did some troubleshooting and noted to add the Focal software on the iPhone, firmware update and personalisation options made all the difference in volume. I also removed headphone safety from the iPhone. It all worked out like a charm. I tried them and was really happy.
But the sad truth is when I went to my father again with the product hoping he would like them to my dismay he didn't and I guess its very true first impression is the last one indeed.
Hence with a heavy heart these Focals since cant be returned are now a showcase for us. The cans have been sadly 'canned'. I wish the your tech support/ focal guide could have given the right solutions in time or there was a better outcome.

The design is simple, flashing lights are cool. ANC is okay-ish. Comfortable but the sound quality is out of this world, especially on DAC mode. Made for audiophiles.
Had to write this review after getting the headphones earlier today and listening to some of my fav tracks. The sound quality met and exceeded my expectations. Brilliant cans! Comfortable enough, decent to good quality hardware and a hi fi sound with good bass weight, mids and highs. Linear response across the frequency range with no overemphasis on lows and mids unlike some consumer grade headphones. Glad I made the purchase.
Just for reference I own Dynaudio Special 40s, KEF R300s, Buchardt S400 MKIIs, REL S/510, Exposure 3510, Primare i35 and Rotel, Primare, Oppo CD/UDP players etc. I was a drummer when I was a teen so my taste in music has gone beyond ordinary over the years. Would highly recommend these to music afficionados.
