THE WORK
We Help People Rediscover Their Music
You know that feeling when you hear a song you've played a hundred times, and suddenly notice something you never heard before?
A hidden guitar riff in Hotel California. The breath before the chorus in Billie Jean. The room the recording was made in. A backing vocal in Chaiyya Chaiyya you'd somehow missed for years.
That's what we do. Every day. One listener at a time.
We help people experience their favourite songs like never before. Not new music. Their music. The albums that shaped them. The tracks they're nostalgic about. Heard again, for the first time.
That moment when someone puts on a great pair of headphones and their face changes? The smile, the closed eyes, the "wait, I never heard that before." That's why we exist.

WHO WE ARE
The Best, Not the Biggest
We're not trying to be the biggest headphone store in India. We're trying to be the best.
Since 2011, we've been on one mission: help people who love music hear it the way it deserves to be heard. We're 100% Indian-owned, bootstrapped, and independent. No outside investors. No pressure to grow at all costs.
We don't run Headphone Zone like a company. We run it like a passion project. Like a community of people who genuinely care about music and about doing good work.
We say no to a lot. Poor products, poor service, shortcuts. That's how we've built trust with audiophiles across the country. We only carry what we believe in. Our credibility rests on the willingness to say no.
OUR ETHOS
"We're Ladies and Gentlemen, Serving Ladies and Gentlemen"
This isn't just a tagline. It's how we actually operate.
We treat customers with the same care, respect, and attention we'd want for ourselves. And we treat each other the same way. No egos. No politics. Just people who want to do great work together.
We're proud to be bringing the world's finest audio gear to music lovers across India. And we take that responsibility seriously.

WHO WE HIRE
Most of Our Team Started Here Fresh Out of College
And we're proud of it.
We've learned that energy and curiosity beat experience every time. We're not looking for people who've "done it before." We want people who are excited to figure it out for the first time.
Fresh perspectives. The willingness to challenge how things are normally done. A mindset that isn't boxed in by "this is how it's always been."
Your degree doesn't matter here. Your drive does.
We don't care where you went to school or what you studied. We care about whether you're the kind of person who gets excited about learning new things and solving problems that don't have obvious answers.

"When I graduated, I knew I was smart. I just needed someone to give me a chance to prove it.
No one did. So I started Headphone Zone at 24 and figured it out myself.
Now when I hire, I'm looking for people like that. People who know they're capable of more than their resume shows.
But being smart isn't enough. I also realized I was going to spend most of my waking hours with whoever I hired. So I decided to only hire people I genuinely liked. People who thought the way I did, cared about the things I cared about, got excited about the same stuff.
Over the past 13 years, I've been privileged to work with people who went on to become lifelong companions, best friends, and wonderful well-wishers. That's not a side effect of working here. It's the whole point."
- RAGHAV SOMANI,
Founder
HOW WE WORK
What Makes Us Different

No hierarchy.
Almost everyone reports directly to our founder. Your ideas matter from day one. You can walk up to anyone, message them on Slack, or grab them for a quick chat. No layers. No gatekeepers.

No ladder to climb.
You grow by getting better at what you do, not by getting promoted. Titles don't matter here. How you think, learn, and contribute does.

No annual plans or quarterly targets.
We trust people to do their best work. We keep the right people on the bus and get out of their way.

No "that's not my job."
If something needs doing, you do it. If you see a problem, you fix it. We call it the founder's mindset: working like you own the place.
You'll Love It Here If...
- You'd rather figure something out than wait to be told what to do
- You care about doing things well, not just getting them done
- You're curious. You want to understand why things work, not just that they work
- You're comfortable saying "I don't know" and then going to find out
- You believe growth comes from discomfort, not comfort
- You put the team first
- You have a song that changed your life (and you can tell us why)
- You get chills from a really good song
This Isn't For You If...
We'd rather be upfront than waste your time:
- You want a predictable, structured corporate job
- You need to be told exactly what to do
- You're applying because you need any job, not because you want this one
- You're not comfortable with ambiguity
- You care more about titles than impact
- You think "it's not my job" is an acceptable sentence
- You believe experience matters more than effort
No hard feelings. We're just not for everyone. And that's ok.
REALITY
What It's Actually Like

Your work matters.
Everything you do connects to helping real people experience music better. You'll see the direct impact. Not reports that disappear into a void.

You'll learn constantly.
We don't have all the answers. You'll figure things out alongside the team. That's how you grow faster than you would anywhere else.

Your ideas count.
In our flat structure, good ideas become reality quickly. You won't spend months getting approvals or fighting bureaucracy.

We've got your back.
While we expect you to take ownership, you're never left to struggle alone. The team is genuinely invested in helping each other grow.

Real relationships.
You'll work with people who care about the same things you do. Friday playlist sessions. Foosball battles. The occasional poker night. This team was literally built around a foosball table. It's been with us since 2011.

Growth is real.
As we grow, new opportunities emerge. Many of our team members have taken on bigger roles over the years. Not because they climbed a ladder, but because they grew into the work.
This is Us. This is Headphone Zone.

- Follow-Up & Execution: Drive effective follow-up on action items, decisions, and key projects. You’ll ensure that tasks move forward and that nothing slips through the cracks.
- Delegation & Team Coordination: Assist the CEO in delegating tasks and coordinating with team members across departments. You’ll help keep the right people aligned and projects on track.

- Ability to anticipate needs and act proactively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Based in Mumbai — this is a full-time, in-office role at our HQ in Andheri West
