The Balanced Armature drivers bring detail and finesse that you only come to hear from Audiophile IEMs. Z7 is a rare product that offers quality sound and convenience in a single package.
EXCLUSIVE 2BA + 1DD SETUP THAT PROPELS LYPERTEK'S MOST PREMIUM SOUND YET
Magnifying the potential of a mindfully chosen hybrid dual Balanced Armature driver and single dynamic driver along with an exclusive acoustic tuning, the Lypertek PurePlay Z7 delivers Lypertek's most premium sound ever produced to date covering a frequency range of 20 to 20kHz. The COAXIAL structure of the Z7 provides enough space for the balanced armature drivers and a dynamic driver. It not only facilitates the seamless integration of drivers into the system but also brings out their best performance.
PACKS THOROUGHLY TESTED BALANCED DRIVERS AND A TITANIUM-PLATED DYNAMIC DRIVER
The advanced balanced armature drivers employed in the Z7 are tested and adjusted to offer the best possible high frequency while ensuring that they do not sound too harsh. The nozzle of the BA drivers has been removed to have more space. The dynamic driver on the other hand uses the traditional Mylar film along with the high purity PPF titanium plating. This pushes the magnetism to the maximum N52 through the coaxial design for the driver inside.

Update 2: Edit - 23-Feb-22
Very kind of HPZ to give me the warranty replacement after understanding my plight.
I'm still knocking down 2 stars for the headphones; I'm now paranoid the glue holding the two halves may come off again.
This is still a very good headphone pair in its right, if it lasts.
But full 5 stars for HPZ's fuss free pickup and drop service for the warranty claims.
Update: Edit - 14-Feb-22
The left ear bud got progressively quieter for the past few days, because of it's strong magnetic coupling with the case, the top half came off when I tried to remove the left earbud from the case.
This is due to poor gluing of the 2 halves of the ear-buds.
Per headphonezone \ manufacturer, this doesn't amount for a warranty claim but they've offered for a pickup & repair which is nice of hpz.
I doubt re-gluing it back is going to make it sound the same as it came out of the box; so that's INR 16k down the drain for me in just under 7 months.
I'm done with Lypertek, Shanling and their uber expensive Chinese ilk.
For true wireless earbuds I'll just stick to cheaper alternatives from amazon.
It's just too darn bass heavy out of the box; can be tuned to near reference sound using the pureplay software although bass heads might like these out of the box anyway.
After tuning, they have a wide, almost holographic soundstage and instrument separation.
Also thanks to the dynamic driver, the bass extension is superb, it's a phenomenal experience watching Netflix on these. Watched Pacific Rim and Terminator 2 on day 1 and it was a delight.
Some Other things:
Bonkers battery life and wireless range, supplied mic is not very good, not the most comfortable fit, misses on multi device support(why?!), splash proof, hear through mode is almost useless (please fix it with a firmware update), thankfully no touch controls, wireless Qi charging supported, google assistant blah aptx adaptive yadaa.
The following pureplay eq settings work well for me with Dolby Atmos for headphones ON (for that subtle out of head sound without killing fidelity)
Eq for music (Hz dB 80 -4, 250 0, 500 +2, 1K 0, 3k -2, 7k 0, 10k +7)
Eq for movies (Hz dB 80 -2, 250 0, 500 +3, 1K 0, 3k -3, 7k 0, 10k +5)
I also own the Senn HD800, HD 598, AKG K12 pro, HiFiMan Sundara, Sony 1000 XM3, A&K Billie Jean and then some, but I've been using the Shanling mtw100 (BA) headphones for the past year as my daily driver tws and consider them to be a benchmark for true wireless earbuds for their sound, fit, design and features.
Unfortunately the right earpiece for shanling started going bad and the battery started degrading fast, so I ordered Z7 as replacements; a 'leap of faith' of sorts based on gleaming reviews that the Z3 has already garnered, and the Z7 didn't disappoint. Frankly a few years back they'd be costing x4 maybe, but all hail the chi-fi revolution and headphonezone for making these available in India!
Now only if they last a couple years I'd say money well spent.
We thank you for this lovely review & we are glad you are enjoying it! Keep the music playing.
After having used(and loved) the Tevis for over an year, I wanted to upgrade. There were plenty of options with multitude of features in this price range but none of them were standout in terms of sound quality.
As I was already impressed with the Tevis, decided to pull the trigger on this one. These are a clear upgrade. One can feel the 3 drivers put to use as there is clear instrument separation and perceivable depth added to the sound. The sound is sufficiently detailed and the bass & treble are balanced very evenly providing a sound quality at par with those of the decent multi-driver IEMs.
Only con for me is that I like a super bright treble which they don't offer out of the box. But the 7 band EQ in the app can be tuned to one's liking.
Overall, if sound quality is your top priority, these fit the bill perfectly.
We are glad you had a comfortable shopping experience with us & it is delightful to read such positive reviews on your product! Cheers & Welcome to the club!
The sound is awesome but the design is screwed up for these beautiful babies. They remain connected to my iPhone/iPad even when they are back in the case and drain out without usage.
Replacement 1: Stopped charging the right bud
Replacement 2: They remain connected to my iPhone/iPad even when they are back in the case and drain out without usage.
Replacement 3: HPZ sent me someone else's buds and then sent a new pair
The problem still remains - they remain connected to my iPhone/iPad even when they are back in the case and drain out without usage.
Frustrated and tired to give another return to HPZ.
We are extremely sorry for the bad experience you had to go through. As the products are manufactured on the large scale they tend to have manufacturing anomalies. As far as your product is under warranty, we can send you 'n' number of replacements. Our team will get in touch with you soon.
Lypertek PurePlayZ7 - Initial impression
The tevis have been my go to for tws convenience for the past couple of years and i was really happy with them.
Decided to go for their big brother Z7.
Thanks to Headphonezone for great pricing (12.7k) and prompt delivery.
I have been using them since past 2-3 days and these are the initial impressions.
P.S. the only tws i have owned previously have been tevis and i have tried the apple air pods pro. However i have tried/owned various mid range iems/open back headphones.
2BA + 1DD config
Great tuning, will please the audiophile ears
Wide assortment of eartips, 6silicon and 3 pairs of foams
Have additional replacable 3 pairs of filters
Excellent battery life
AptX works great (still figuring out the Aptx -adaptive part)
No active noise cancellation
Hear through mode is pretty meh, works but barely
Large in size( no complaints with the fit whatsoever though)
Day to day use :
Call quality is good in an indoor environment
Its passable outdoors in noisy environments ( was able to do a decent enough quick call in the gym with the music playing in background).Definitely better than tevis( maybe the larger size/placement of microphones)
The app is simple but works fine
The fit is good though the shell is large, multiple eartips/foam tips makeup for it. Lightweight.
Has wireless charging case for those who care but the battery life is great, (haven't got to charging it even once yet, will run 1-2 weeks easy depending on usage)
No delays with netflix/youtube/prime
Decent for casual gaming as well
Respond very well to EQ
LDX mode : increases subbass and treble a bit and slightly widens the staging
Definite upgrade from the tevis in all aspects.
Bass : well controlled, good amounts of subbass, no bleeds into midrange unless you EQ it to extremes. Royals by lorde and teardrop by massive attack both sound great
Midrange : does not disappoint at all. Vocals, guitars are crisp and clear. Vocals are at a distance. Do not expect the sweet sounding mids from particularly tuned earbuds/iems but these do the job very well. Sounds very natural.
Treble : crisp, no sibilance, no peaks, extremely airy, really shine in this department.
Imaging : good, could be better
Soundstage : pillow shaped, good width decent depth, almost at par with ikkoOH 10s for reference.
Details : unexpectedly picks up great detail for a bluetooth tws iem. Obviously not at par with wired iems at same price ranges but still is way better than i was expecting.
Recommended for audiophiles who dont need active noise cancellation (passive noise cancellation is amazing, especially with foams) and dont mind a bit large iem shell size (juts out more than the tevis themselves)
Sound quality better than the z3s but the connection in the slave earbud keeps dropping at frequent intervals. Disappointed!!
With Etymotic ER3XR as my main wired daily drivers it is a really difficult job finding an equally good sounding pair of true wireless buds. My previous TWS were Shanling MTW100 BA version and ever since their battery wore off after an year's usage I've been looking for a similar or better replacement. And the Z7's more than do the job. Really good soundstage with a slightly boomy bass out of the box which can be easily resolved with the EQ in the lypertek app (found the app a little unstable at times though).
The comfort was a concern at the point of buying but they fit comfortably in the ear even though I would have preferred them to be a little less bulky. They come with a healthy assortment of earbuds so the fit won't be a problem for most people. I've seen reviews stating walking with these earbuds might be a problem but I didn't have any discomfort doing so.
I found the Bluetooth connection to be a little jittery and unstable at times. There were instances when the earphones got paired even though they were inside the charging case and sometimes it failed to he recognised in already paired devices unless paired again.
Unfortunately my pair developed a sound imbalance within just 2 days of usage and had to get an replacement for which I'm waiting for now.
The sound is so clear and the bass is good. I can hear the finest of details in the music with Z7. The battery life is really good and doesn’t take much time to charge it too. Could have been a little more compact, but getting a driver as good as this takes a good amount of space and hence the size
Hey there, nothing makes us happier than knowing you loved your purchase, hope you had a comfortable shopping experience & thank you for the great review & ratings!
