Meet Our Headphone Gurus
Not sure what to buy? Good. That is exactly what we are here for.
Our Headphone Gurus have spent years going deep into the gear. They have listened to everything we carry. They have strong, highly opinionated views on gear that they have arrived at through years of listening. They have no scripts and no playbook. They often disagree with each other, sometimes violently. And that is exactly what makes them great.
In any hobby, there are people so deep into it that their biggest motivation is just spreading the joy. Nothing gives them more satisfaction than watching someone else discover what they have already found. Our Headphone Gurus are those people.
Their job is not to sell you something. It is to share their passion with as many people as they can.

No bots. No scripts. A Guru gets back to you within one working day.

What Makes the Gurus Different
They will never upsell you. Ever.
Anyone can read a spec sheet. But audio needs something more. It needs someone who listens to the music you listen to, and understands what it actually takes to get goosebumps. That is what the Gurus bring. Not information. A point of view.
There is a reason they never upsell, and it is not a policy. It is a philosophy. At every budget, there is a genuinely great-sounding headphone. A Rs. 1,500 IEM done right can do things a Rs. 15,000 headphone cannot. The Gurus know this because they have listened to all of it. So there is no reason to push you toward spending more. The only thing that matters is finding the right match for your ears and your music.
If anything, they are just as likely to tell you your budget is too high as too low.
Opinionated, not neutral.
Every Guru has strong views. They will not hedge. They will tell you what they actually think, even if it is not what you expected to hear. You will get a recommendation, not a menu.
No scripts. No playbook.
There is nothing they are required to say. Every conversation starts from scratch, with your music and your question as the only brief.
Their only qualification is passion.
There is no certification for this. Every Guru got here by loving music, going deep into the gear, and forming opinions through thousands of hours of listening. That is the only credential that matters.

What They Help With
Any question about choosing gear.
If the question is about what to buy, they are the right people to ask. There is no question too basic and no budget too small. Some of the most common things they help with:
Buying your first proper headphones or IEMs without knowing where to start. Upgrading from what you already own and wanting to hear a real difference. Figuring out whether you actually need a DAC or amp. Choosing between two or three options you have already narrowed down. Building a full desktop setup. Finding something specific for a particular genre. Understanding what specs and reviews actually mean for your ears.
If yours is not on the list, ask anyway.
Note: For help with an order, a return, or a warranty issue, our Customer Happiness team is the right place. The Gurus are here to help you choose something, not for help after you have bought.

Questions People Actually Ask
No question is too basic.
- "I do not consider myself an audiophile. Is Headphone Zone even for someone like me?"
- "Will I actually hear a difference, or do you need trained ears for that?"
- "My budget is Rs. 2,000. Is there something genuinely good at that price?"
- "I mostly listen to Bollywood and Punjabi pop. Do audiophile headphones even matter for that?"
- "I have been stuck between two IEMs for ten days. Can someone just tell me which one to pick?"
- "I want to get into this hobby properly but I do not know where to start."
Sound like you? That is exactly what we are here for.
How They Recommend
Where every recommendation starts.
The People Behind the Recommendations
Thousands of hours of listening between them.
Each of them got here the same way: they loved music, they fell into the hobby, and they went deep. They have different tastes, different opinions, and a healthy disregard for agreeing with each other. What they share is that they genuinely care about helping you find your sound.
Hector D'Mello
Leads the Guru team. Harman target fan running the Truthear Nova daily, with an Audeze LCD-5 permanently on his desk. Listens to everything from Rage Against the Machine to K-Pop to film soundtracks.
Shanaia Shrotri
Warm-and-smooth loyalist whose daily driver is the Headphone Zone x Juzear Defiant. When she's not helping customers, she's practicing vocals or nerding out about perfumery. Will defend the Eagles' 1972 self-titled as the only album you need.
Theon Lopes
Balanced sound, no nonsense. Drives the Juzear Defiant daily with an HiFiMAN Arya Unveiled at his desk. Splits his time between gaming, Enduro, and a playlist that jumps from The Killers to Goo Goo Dolls to Progressive House.
Saikiran Shetty
Music producer with a balanced-bright ear and a Sony MDR-7506 that's been with him since day one. His playlist lives in the world of Neurofunk, Experimental EDM, and the complex textures of IMANU.
Mayur Bahadur
Neutral with a bass boost. Keeps Apple wired earphones for the commute and something better at his desk (ask him what's currently plugged in). Loves J-Pop and Alt R&B, and is convinced cables don't actually change your sound.
Pratham Shah
Neutral-bright purist running the Truthear Hexa and FiiO KA13. Probably fixing his Arch Linux install right now. Listens to Post Rock, Shoegaze, and Dream Pop, and will tell you "BA Timbre" isn't a real thing.
Karan Rawat
Bright-neutral fan switching between Grado Hemps and Samson SR850s. Don't try to sell him on burn-in or planar twang. His playlist ranges from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake to JID, and he's always hunting for the perfect printed shirt.

On the Road
They have met thousands of audiophiles across India.
The Gurus are not just behind a screen. Every year, they travel across India for Headphone Connect, our community events in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune and beyond. They set up listening stations, bring the gear, and spend hours in conversation with people they have never met before.
The conversations at Headphone Connect are the same ones they have on email and phone. Someone with a question, a Guru with a point of view, and music somewhere in the middle. The only difference is that at Headphone Connect, you can see their face when you hear something for the first time.

Why the Gurus Exist
"When I started Headphone Zone, I was that person in the store who would spend hours talking to every customer who walked in. Not to sell them something. Because I genuinely wanted them to hear what I had heard. That moment when someone puts on a pair of headphones and their face changes, that is why I started this.
The Headphone Gurus carry that forward. They are not a sales team. They are not a customer service team. They are music lovers who happen to know a lot about gear. When they talk to you, they are not working. They are doing what they would be doing anyway.
Their only qualification is that they love trying new gear and are unafraid to have an opinion.
Anyone can read a spec sheet. But audio needs something more. It needs someone who listens to the music you listen to, and understands what it actually takes to get goosebumps.
There is no script for that. And there should not be."

Real people. Not bots.
Your query goes directly to a member of our team. Not a chatbot, not a ticket queue. Someone reads what you wrote, thinks about it, and writes back. They sign off with their name.
One working day.
We commit to getting back to you within one working day. That is the same standard we hold across all of Headphone Zone, for every customer, every query.
A real recommendation.
You will get a specific suggestion and the reasoning behind it. Not a list of five options and a "it depends." One recommendation, clearly explained, so you know exactly what to do next.
