FiiO - DM13

Always a very good experience with Headphone Zone. The package arrived in a short time and I'm very happy with the CD player. I did though, have to calibrate the battery charge levels which was done by draining from 100% to zero and then do a full charge. The buttons require a short learning curve, but nothing impossible about getting the hang of things. Excellent product from FIIO.

Been using this little Fiio DM13 since 1 week, plays all CDs including my old ones which usually I had a hard time with my Denon RCD M41, it's a solid player and does what it has been advertised for. Also, good thing is it has been correctly priced by headphone zone.

The FiiO DM13 is perhaps the most convincing argument yet for resuscitating your interest in CDs.Yet, it is not just a nostalgia throwback for those, like me, significantly longer toothed than those born in the age of .mp3s and Flac music. It is a serious hi-fi component. Via wired headphones, the DM13 delivers clean, detailed and pleasantly neutral sound with excellent dynamics. And this is on the first hearing; it - the sound, I mean, I am told ages well with repeated hearings. Bluetooth transmission supports aptX HD, and with compatible headphones the quality is impressively close to wired listening. The metal chassis feels robust, battery life is around 8–10 hours, and the player offers an unusually generous selection of outputs for home or portable use. A must buy for those with cobweb entangled CD withering in the darkness of long-unopened cabinets.

Very compact yet quite capable, and has full digital outputs, optical and coaxial so can be used as a transport with external dac. Great way to spin the old audio CDs!

My Bose Wave IV cd player wasn’t working and I desperately needed a good CD player which would also be compact (as my player is placed in a bookshelf). This player seems to do the job almost perfectly. It is slightly larger than a CD (can even be used like a discman!). It sits on my Bose Wave player perfectly. Build quality is excellent. It is only 2 weeks old and CDs are playing perfectly. It shows CD track information also (slightly small size though) – most DVD players don’t. It can be connected with a 3.5 mm / 4 mm chord to music system and also through a bluetooth (sound on bluetooth connection is a little low though, but otherwise fine).
The only negatives, I can think of are:
It doesn’t have a remote control device and you will need to get up every time iyou want to play / stop / fast-forward / rewind the CD. If connected through a bluetooth, at least my Bose system remote seemed to work with the cd player, though!
In general, it is not very user friendly and some options seem a little tedious.
Price wise at Rs 14,000, perhaps a little high (on the other hand audiophile cd players are much more expensive), but it is a good player.

Finally, a big thanks to Headphone Zone to help out the audiophiles who are still have a CD collection. Big names like Sony / Philips / Samsung have given up on them and are happier serving only the streamed music crowd.

The Build quality is really good , especially compared to my old school goodmans jogproof disc player , the last portable discman I owned. I was surprised, I thought it would be plastic cheap build , but it is actually made up of sturdy plastic and aluminium combination. The opening flap with the red color reminded me of the same exact material used in the ipod touch 5th gen product red version , the same expensive aluminum feeling.
Coming to the sound quality once again blown away. The fiio cp 13 cassette player (an other exceptional fiio product) , the sound quality was not comparable to the older walkmans or the panasonic players, and I expected this player also to be on that level, but the dm13 is a different beast , it definitely blows my goodman out of the water, and is even comparable or much better than my cmtdx400a disc player from sony. It can easily give out audio on powered speakers with its dedicated line out.
The Cons of this player however is this players laser is very sensitive , because of which many of my old cds from the 90s with slight dings and scratch gets few seconds skipped almost instantly , something which my older players never did.
Also wish the player came with a remote, cause the buttons feels a bit flimsy and I assume if they are continuously used they might start malfunctioning in the future.
A great product, and the old school feeling of reading a cds liner notes while it's being played and laying down in our bed on a lazy afternoon is simply unmatched

Player has good sound quality. sound is crisp and clear with adequate power to run upto 60ohm in SE and upto 120ohms in balanced.
Must have for anyone who has good CD collection and wants portability. Comparing my Sony CD Walkman DM-13 shows how DAC technology has evolved. DM-13 has clear layering sound stage details and micro details and dynamics all far superior. still Sony has enjoyable sound.
Finally I suggest this if you prefer portability else go with regular Desktop DACs which will give you better quality and features combined with a cheap Blu ray or DVD player with digital out.

he FiiO DM13 has brought new life to my CD collection. Exceptional clarity, balanced sound, and an impressively refined listening experience. A truly worthwhile purchase.

I am using this with my headphones, so using the 3.5mm PO on the front. It has another 3.5 mm jack (LO) in the back preferably for speaker I guess. So far works really well. You can toggle between different output with a single power button click, if it isn't working for you. Also, haven't had any issue for a range of CDs I have tested so far. Excited to add more CDs to my collection.

Anything even remotely affordable in the Hi-Fi world usually starts at ₹25,000–₹35,000 and above — but this one hits a sweet spot at around ₹14,000 for the entry-level model, which packs in practically all the features you’d expect!

It offers both balanced and unbalanced headphone outputs, plus coaxial out for your AV receiver or DAC. It charges via USB-C, runs for about 10 hours on battery, and even has a desktop mode that powers it directly through USB-C to preserve the battery for when you’re on the move.

The only real downside? Figuring out how to enable the different output modes — coaxial, Bluetooth, or headphone out — isn’t exactly intuitive. You’d assume they’d work out of the box, but instead, they rely on a series of mysterious long and short presses of the power button that had me baffled until I finally gave in and read the documentation… even then, I still couldn’t figure out how to connect my AirPods Pro 2!

Aside from that quirk, though, it’s an absolute gem — easily the best option at this price point.

FIOO DM13 great product for my audio cd collection. Pairing with my MI Bluetooth speaker works great. But little bit concern about sells after service, if anything goes wrong? Overall good product👍

You've probably kept more than a few CDs and Compilation-CDs from the past, so this is just what the doctor ordered. I chose the DM13 without the window because the difference in price is notable. For those with other FiiO devices, this is perfect. But the value lies in having a modern version of an old CD player you once had, now complete with Record-Out and the all important Bluetooth feature. Two things I note: there are no visible signs when that DM13 is charging when you have it plugged in, and there are too many combination button-presses that perform other functions. Maybe having a remote would solve this. My next target: the FiiO cassette player!

As of now there are no cd players available in the market inthis price range. It does the job well , connected to my dennon 540bt. The battery backup is good, the output decent for this small player size.i am unable to find the right connector for lo/coax/opt slot as 3.5 mm jack gives a buzzing sound.

Bought this to run it into my PC as an external CD drive. I did'nt research it enough and mistakenly thought I could stream music into the PC via the USB output, but it turns out that's unfortunately only for recording to your computer not real time streaming of music. Anyway, I'm now using it mostly with headphone's although headphones are'nt really my thing. Still I must admit this player has a really nice full sound with deep bass and sounds a lot better than the CD drive in my PC. It's punchy, thick & enjoyable to listen to so all's well that ends well.

Exactly what I had been waiting for all these years. Really happy with my purchase 👌👌

Love this variant with a transparent top . Feels like a miniature version on a vinyl player with an acrylic dust cover.
