Bit Low on bass otherwise all rounder

Build is also weak but sound quality compensate for that, I had sennheiser cx3.00 but i broke them, they were 500rs more expensive so compare it to that these earphones are at same level but bit low in bass, to me sound quality and clarity matter more, vocals are also good so go for it! But if you are rough user do not buy it, they will definitely going to break. THIS REVIEW IS AFTER 5 MONTHS OF USE

Thanks a lot for your detailed and genuine feedback, we'll share your thoughts with the brand as well. It'll also help our fellow customers to make the right choice!

A great start

Ordered on 26.07.21.
Received on 28.07.21
Awesome service.
On first note, I am not a fan of bass and I listen mostly to instrumental songs. I like it flat.
With a change of eartips and S9's Dolby Atmos, this pair of 32ohm is enough to make me happy and satisfied.
As for built-material, its poor (harsh truth) and I am afraid that I might face problems becoz I travel a lot on public transport in Kolkata 😅.

I hope this earphone will last long.

Its a steal!!

Bought them impulsively at 12:40 AM. I was skeptical and even considered cancelling but I didn't. I got them around noon today. Although there wasn't much to unbox, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Spotify playlists included by HPZ. The first song I played was the live version of Hotel California. Just 15 seconds into the song I found myself completely blown away by the sound that came out of these earphones! I believe that there simply isnt anything else that can provide the quality of sound that these do at this price! 10/10 would buy again!

Decent soundstage but shorter jack pin

Be it music instructions or voice, the sound is clear but not rich as RHA or Beyerdynamic. Decent sound, no complaints on sound.

The audio jack connector pin is about 1mm to 1.5mm shorter than standard audio pins. This means you would have to remove the phone cover to be able to plug in the earphone jack.

Hey there,
Thank you for the honest review & we will also pass on your feedback about the audio jack to the brand. Cheers!

Tiny wonder

What happens when a legendary manufacturer who is into high end audio does some thing for the masses? magic !! I was looking for a basic IEM and got this one, as usual spot on quick delivery from HPZ, kudos to the team! For 2000 Rs you get a fantastic sounding IEM which is light as feather. The sound is very neutral but not boring or shouty, the tiny drivers developed by Hifiman themselves rock for the price. The stage is wide, thanks to the vent hole near to the bottom of nozzle tip. There is no feeling of congestion and imaging is quite good only to be limited by the quality of the drivers one can make for the price.

The bass is tight and punchy and does not intrude into the mids, the mids are forward and smooth and voices sound so natural. The highs are clear without harshness, don't expect very high level of technicality here as it is limited by the quality of the driver again. Overall sound signature is very pleasant with a very natural timbre, something that some of the sub $300 IEMS fails to deliver.
The IEM itself is very easy to drive and is good to hear from my Samsung A50 but it sounds even better with my Quloos QA361 DAP which is a purely made for sound DAP like Dethonray DTR1. QA361 is a very picky DAP when it comes to IEMs especially the ones with BA and get harsh with high end and I am surprised that I could hit a sweet spot (please note it is "a" sweet sport) with a 2K IEM.

I get some how reminded of HD6XX which is also a very good match with this DAP and in terms of clarity and stage it is actually much better. I know folks are going to call it a blasphemy to compare a legendary HP with a puny IEM. I am just sharing my experience here with a good synergy I have found. We all know it's all about synergy here. I would highly recommend every one to try this one for casual use and I will not be surprised to hear that you love them. Cheers!!

Best IEM for beginner audiophiles

What a quality of sound does it give??? Completely pure sound without any changes to original audio. It gives the sound that artist really intended to deliver...You wont get the IEM in this price in the first place. So go for it. Completely satisfied with the quality of audio it gives. Though you need to comprimise in build quality. Common, no one is giving you build quality and sound quality in the budget...No argument with this It will give you more than the price...It is FLAT...FLAT...FLAT...sound signature and every other signature lovers has to try it for sure....Buy one ASAP else you may regret...Thank You...

Classic piece of clarity

Great delivery within 24 hours, I'm posting this post after I used 6 days, I love v shaped sound signature, I found each and every instruments are too clearly understand, you can feel real tone of vocals, flat sounded with flat bass, sound wise I became fan for this earphones, earphones are so small that fits anyone's ears, make sure you use better earbuds, as headphone zone reviewed sound signature is too good, a big flaw is the build quality, too low quality of wire, should keep maximum care, I'm not sure that I sustain for a year with this build quality without damage but want to enjoy these earphones until it lasts. #loved the earphones.

Not for bass lovers.
Flat response is 100% flat.
Best for music producers because this earphones will help to listen to the clean mids.

Very, very smooth - a lot more music, just enough bass.

Disclaimers - I won't call myself an audiophile. I just like good music played well. I've used Akai walkmans, Sony digital walkmans & Cowon iAudio before with basic earphones.

I currently use a Sony 1000XM3. The focus on bass is a bit more than I like, and even trying to equalize it doesn't make it as balanced as I would like. The vocals always sound like they are a bit under-emphasized and every song sounds punchy. But I liked the overall clarity, and I wanted to experiment by purchasing new earphones to see if an extremely neutral sound signature would be to my taste. My Sennheiser CX275 had gone bad and I had some fair reason to spend my monies again :P

After a lot of deliberation, I ordered these Hifiman Re400a. True to a lot of other reviews here, these are totally amazing. Every song sounds just like it should - pure & neutral. Bass heavy songs have the required low-end emphasis and I can feel just the right amount of low bass. Note to bass lovers - you might think it is not there, because it almost isn't (yet it is :P). Acoustic versions of bass heavy songs sound equally sweet with emphasis on the vocals. So far after a few days of use, I don't find the highs to be too irritating - they are there and they make me feel nice.

The size is small and comfortable. I wear them around the ear to get a more intimate fit and they stay in position if I clip the wire on my collar.

Sound isolation is much better than expected - I live next to a construction site and it blocks out most of the noise (that noise is what instigated the Sony 1000XM3 purchase!). My flatmates need to shout at me to get my attention. So good for office work I guess!

Overall, I would describe the sound experience as smooth, natural, well isolated, detailed, interesting and comfortable.

I owe this detailed review to the Headphone Zone folks - I messed up my address and the earphones got shipped from extreme south all the way to extreme north and then back to the south. I still got the delivery in good time and the support team was extremely helpful - I just had to pass on a note of the issue and they took care of everything! Thank you!

Looks simple, Sound elegant

Just amazing.

These earbuds do look quite simple. They have no style. Built quality is also not up to the mark. But, when it come to comfort and sound, they deliver. Within the given price range of Rs. 2000.00 these are the best sounding earbuds one can buy. They are pure, gentle and detailed. They are also very light weight and comfortable.

If your preference is audio quality and comfort over looks, style and durability..pls go for it. These sound way better than the RHA MA390...

Much more than meets the eye...

The sound is mind blowing at the price range, although the piece they are giving at the price of 2k is Hifiman RE400a, that doesn't have braided cable, volume controls and the metal slider shown in the pictures. Kindly mention this in the description, HeadphoneZone. Hyper clarity in highs, mids and lows, the lows are not tuned for bassheads though. Appreciable soundstage and excellent sound separation, the flat sound signature being the USP of Hifiman-RE400. The small size and design of the earphones makes for a very comfortable fit, and the small bi-flange ear tips are quite good. The cables look and feel quite flimsy, so handle with care is an understatement in this case. Overall, keeping cable flimsiness aside, an absolute bang for the buck.
