Built For The Vinyl Ritual.

Vinyl playback is delicate. The signal coming from a turntable cartridge is incredibly small, and every stage of amplification matters. Get it wrong, and you lose texture, dynamics, and the emotional weight that makes vinyl special in the first place. The iFi Audio ZEN Air Phono 2 is built to preserve that experience without overcomplicating it. It combines accurate RIAA correction, an intelligently designed subsonic filter, support for both MM and MC cartridges, and an impressively low noise floor into a compact phono stage that simply gets out of the way of the music. Clean, quiet, and confidently engineered, this is the kind of upgrade that immediately makes a turntable setup feel more complete.

Ahead Of The Curve

Vinyl records are cut using inverse RIAA equalisation, which means the phono stage plays a critical role in restoring the music accurately during playback. The ZEN Air Phono 2 uses an exceptionally precise RIAA playback curve with a tight +/-0.15dB tolerance, helping preserve the tonal balance, dynamics, and intent of the original recording. The result feels natural and believable. Vocals sit where they should, instruments retain their body, and familiar records sound more coherent and emotionally connected. It’s the kind of refinement you notice the longer you listen.

Bass Intact. Warp Removed.

Older vinyl records often introduce low-frequency rumble caused by warping, and traditional subsonic filters usually solve the problem by cutting away parts of the bass along with it. iFi approaches this differently. The ZEN Air Phono 2 features an in-house intelligent subsonic filter that specifically targets unwanted warp frequencies without thinning out the low end or introducing audible delay. Basslines still feel full and grounded, kick drums retain their weight, and warped records become far easier to enjoy without compromising the musicality of the recording.

Ready For MM And MC Cartridges

Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges require different levels of amplification, and the ZEN Air Phono 2 handles both with ease. A dedicated gain mode selector on the rear lets you switch between MM and MC cartridges depending on your setup, making the phono stage flexible enough to grow alongside future upgrades. Whether you're starting with an entry-level turntable or experimenting with more revealing cartridges later on, the ZEN Air Phono 2 keeps the transition simple. No unnecessary complexity. Just proper compatibility done right.

Quiet Enough To Reveal More

Noise floor matters more than most people realise, especially in vinyl playback where low-level textures and micro-details are easily masked by hiss or circuit noise. The ZEN Air Phono 2 stands apart with an ultra-low EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) of -151dBV, delivering an impressively silent background that allows subtle details to emerge naturally. You hear more air around instruments, more texture in vocals, and more space between notes. Records sound cleaner, calmer, and more articulate without becoming clinical or overly analytical.

Symmetry That You Can Hear

The ZEN Air Phono 2 uses a symmetrical channel layout rarely found at this price point. By designing the circuitry in this way, iFi achieves benefits typically associated with balanced designs, including lower noise, improved channel separation, and cleaner overall output. What this means in practice is simple: stereo imaging feels more stable, instruments occupy more defined positions, and complex recordings sound less congested. It brings a level of organisation and composure to vinyl playback that genuinely elevates the listening experience.
