May be I am changing my opinion about KZ-AST after a bit of burn in. It sounds better and is as comparable or perhaps even better than my Sony WH 1000 XM4. My dac is FiiO BTR5 and source is tidal from pc/ipad or apple lossless. Never been a fan of an iem , though apple earphones were not sounding bad for sub 16 bit/44 khz. I am not able to experience a wider sound stage neither a distinct imaging for the AST . High frequencies especially mid to highs are muddy. However low frequencies and mids are crisp and base is just right. With the EQ set at flat , this does a decent job for the blues and reggaes and pop which I mostly listen. Be it Eric Clapton's Lyla or Ed Sheeran's Bad habits or Diana Krall's The boy from ipanema or Bob Marley , sound signature is smooth and amazing. May be I will use this mostly for my travel and is money well spent. Noise is adequately blocked by the silicon ear buds. Comfort is ok with a light weight , but the bulk is bit unpleasant.

The KZ AST comes in three color options – Green, Black, and White. I have the black one. First impression they big. A really BIG IEM. You have small ear it is not for you. It is price in size we pay for 12 Driver on each side.
Sound Quality :-
Most Balanced sound but with very good Bass.
KZ has achieved perfect sound detailed High , Mid and vocal. are smooth and Low can be improved further.
In my opinion, this is by far the best earphone KZ has ever made. The price you pay and performance you get there nothing to mention as cons with 12 Balanced Armature.I think this is one of the best I have personally heard. Thumbs up, and let’s hope KZ surpass this with new innovations.
Still haven't done the burn in for the earphones but I'm able to notice details in songs that I've never found on other IEMs. Amazing value IEMs under 10000. Very well built and premium packaging.

Switching from shure se215 to KZ was a unique experience, KZ is very bass heavy and the bass are clean, mid is also good very comfortable, I really like the build quality.

I just want to say after using KZ AS10 since 2017 which were and still are Killer these are next level and I never thought it would be possible.
Also I have KZ ZSN Pros and CCA CA12 these are still even with out the Dynamic Drivers Simply SUPERB... if you did not know that there are no DDs in it you would never realize it at all.
Superb sound accuracy, nice sound stage and Detail BEAST ... I just Love these so much I have even given my favorite KZ AS10s to another family member which I would never allow anyone to even touch them before I got these :)

The eye-catching zinc alloy material used on the KZ AST is polished by highly skilled craftsmen using the five-axis CNC process giving the AST its unique curved surface. The contour curves of the KZ AST adapts to the shape of your ear and to make this experience more comfortable the earpieces are paired with soft silicone earplugs and an ear-hook design so that they stay in place for as long as you want.
0.75MM GOLD-PLATED 2PIN 200-CORE SILVER-PLATED UPGRADEABLE CABLES
The use of 4 strands of 200-core professional silver-plated cables allows the KZ AST to retain the purity of the audiophile-grade sound. The 0.75mm gold-plated pin insert and pull structure, which was independently developed by KZ, expands practically giving you the freedom to replace or upgrade the cables. These earphones are available with and without a microphone. Kindly choose the variant based on your preference.
