Moondrop - JIU
In-Ears With 1 Dynamic DriverUnfortunately, even if we desire to, we won't be able to resurrect this product. The Museum is where we pay our respects to end-of-life, old, archived, but not forgotten products. This page was made with a lot of love and will live on for posterity. What to say, we're sentimental people. 😔
While this product is gone forever, here are others we recommend
I am.not a audiophile, I just need a audio device which can play variety ofuaic, songs at most it's perfection and I wanna say Moondrop does that for me. Honestly, the raw sound output from ear is clean but lacks thumpy bass, i repeat it only lacks thumpy bass not complete bass. But the right EQ you get whatever you want. I personally liked Moondrop Jiu very much. The only thing which bugs me is wire and i am not complaining I just feel the wore everytime I use it because I was a TWS user for long long time.
The driver works very well, I only listen it at 50-60% volume on my phone and 30-40 volume on my laptop. And this is enough.
If you are planning to buy an IEM at 2k then this definitely should be your list.
Hey Raj, thank you so much for the amazing feedback! It means a lot to us. We are so happy to hear that you are loving our products and services.
Great pair of iems for the price, I previously had the cca cra which were great, these felt like a good step up from those in terms of clarity.. I just boost the bass with wavelet to suit my tastes, other than that, great build quality and packaging..and I also love the leather case they bundled with it. Overall, thank you headphone zone for this great product
Thank you for your kind words! We're glad you're pleased with the Moondrop - JIU and the quality of the sound.
This is my first iem and audio quality is great as I was using cheap boat neckband I can hear audio difference immediately the packaging is great only thing I am concerned is wire quality lets hope it will not break that easily the earpiece is made of metal and heavy but when I attached the hooks I feel weightless then the pouch it comes with is good but it can be bit bigger so I don't squeeze it in and neck hook to clip it can be useful
We are glad you had a comfortable shopping experience with us and it is delightful to read such positive reviews on your product! Cheers and Welcome to the club!
Left side ear piece is damaged and raised a return request and also raised call back request and haven't heard from the headphone zone on this.

It seems that you have already raised a request for a return, which was approved by our team 2 days ago, they have reached out to you by email, and we request you to check your inbox as well as your spam. I sought these as a reliable backup to my Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, and they have certainly exceeded my expectations. These earbuds offer an exceptional audio experience, seamlessly matching the quality of my primary pair. What I particularly appreciate is their balanced sound profile; they don't overwhelm with excessive bass but deliver remarkably crisp audio. Despite their weighty metal construction, they sit comfortably in my ears, making for a truly enjoyable listening experience.
Hey Avinash, thank you so much for the amazing feedback! It means a lot to us. We are so happy to hear that you are loving our products and services.
I recently upgraded to an S23 Ultra, and as is the "industry standard" now, there were no earphones in the box and thus began my search for USB-C earphones (I did not want to use a dongle). After a very short research (since the options are so limited), I shortlisted the Zeros and the Jiu. Some more research later, I decided to go for the Jiu owing to better accessories in the box and a frequency response that seemed better for my taste.
I am no audiophile and I did not go in with a lot of expectations, but the Jiu has been a fantastic pair of earphones so far. It works with my S23U, my iPad, my laptop, and even on my friend's phone, so it really has universal compatibility. The sound quality is balanced, vocals are very clear, bass is clean (not super thumpy but not non-existent either), and the overall instrument separation and whatnot is really good for the price. Treble sometimes get a little shrill for my taste. Overall the sound quality has been very satisfactory for me. No problems with the volume either - ther DSP works well I can hardly get to 50% on my phone.
The IEMs come in a nice magnetic-closure box. The build quality is sturdy but the cable could have been better - it is a little sticky-feeling and braiding would have been good. The bundled accessories are decent - a nice carry pouch and ear-hooks, anas someone else said, the bundled eartips (Moondrop's famous spring-tips) are great for me. The mic quality has been surprisingly good but my S23 had some problems initially where it used to cut off mic access when these were plugged in, but it is a simple fix to re-enable mic access.
Overall, I am surprised by these IEMs and they have really exceeded my expectations. They pack quality in a value-for-money package. Recommended!
Thanks a lot for your detailed and genuine feedback, we're glad that you have such positive thoughts about the product and we'll share your thoughts with the brand as well. It'll also help our fellow customers to make the right choice!
This is my first ever IEM purchase. Since then, I have been able to experience a new range of sounds from music. It was a good experience. I am not an audiophile but this will be one of the many I'll be trying out in the near future.
The music at 40-60% volume is the most pleasant to me. Above that, the trebles feel piercing. Bass is ok'ish. And build quality is awesome. But this is my review after only 2 days. Let's see how well it does in the next 6 months.
PS: I made a friend of mine listen to this set of IEM and he immediately needed it and asked to order a new pair as he had claimed that for himself and I did on the next day itself. 🤣 Now anxiously waiting for my new one.
Hey Gulson, thank you so much for the amazing feedback! It means a lot to us. We are so happy to hear that you are loving our products and services.
Build:
The earbuds are build great but the cable feels a bit cheap and rubbery. It keeps the folded shape which can be a bit annoying to deal with.
Sound:
The high end is a bit exaggerated drowing the mids and low end. Can feel fatigued after long sessions.
We really appreciate the genuine feedback, we'll share your thoughts with the brand as well!
I got this after going through almost very review available. So I knew what to expect. And I was not disappointed. Starting off with the unboxing experience, Moondrop provides you with a wonderful unboxing experience, right from the "lowly" Quarks to the Jiu and beyond.
For the price, this was the best packaged IEM I have ever bought. You open the nice, weighted magnetic closing box with the classy anime graphic and are greeted with the gorgeous face plate of the Jiu, set like branches of a plant with the cables running down into the bottom of the foam cover.
Moondrop Chu/Jiu comes with their famed Spring Tips which alone cost about 1000 bucks for a set. Which makes the Jiu and the Chu good value, if you like the spring tips. Personally I found them to be excellent, but they need a bit of extra care to keep clean, due to the sticky surface which attracts dust.
The same goes for the cables of the Jiu, which has a slightly sticky feel. The cable tends to rub against your clothing and skin, and the noise can be felt in your ear. It is also hard to keep fixed over your ear and tends to slip off. There are a pair of included cable guides that will help the cables stay over your ear, but I found the whole setup to be very fussy.
Once you have set up eveything to your liking, and found the right size eartips and fitted them in your ear, you can really start to enjoy the crip, clear sound that the Jiu offers. The bass is adequate, but personally, I used Wavelet app to boost the bass by 4-5 dB under 150Hz to suit my needs.
The mids and vocals are really crisp. The highs are very well presented too, with a good amount of treble. However, I did think that the treble was a bit too sharp and I couldn't listen to it for too long. I checked the online forums and there was a suggestion to replace the very wide bore spring tips with a more narrow bore ear tip. That did dampen the treble a bit, and made it a lot easier to listen to. I have a very sensitive ear for treble, so your experience may vary. I had a similar experience with the KZ ZEX as well.
Overall, for a DSP IEM, the Jiu is very well priced especially with the kit it provides. Although the cable is a bit fussy, the overall experience exudes quality, and you feel like you are handling a quality product. I have the Quarks DSP as well, IMO, the Quarks has the better cable of the two, and also a bit more bass, even with the smaller driver. But the Jiu feels "heavier" somehow in its overall sound. Overall, for its price, it is a definite add-on to your collection, especially if you don't already have the Chu.
It's beautiful sleek in-ear type c earphone. It indeed has great clarity while enjoying music. If you use a correct ear tip basis on your ear size the bass also gets adjusted pretty well.It doesn't hurt the ear even after long usage during meeting. Its build and quality is remarkable along with the cute pouch.Overall my first purchase is worth it all. Thanks Headphonezone
These are the best Type C headphones / IEM's I have ever heard. Excellent value for the price.

Awesome it is❤️❤️
Thank you for the review! we appreciate it.
Loving it...bass is little low but that voice clearity is awesome...and that complete metal ear piece just feels so premium .
Hey Adarsh, thanks a lot for your amazing review!
I took my time writing this review because I wanted to first have an all-round experience using the Jiu. This is the first IEM that I'm mindfully using, although I had a SoundMagic E10C before and it had great sound. But I used that mostly to listen to podcasts, which didn't really explore the E10C's abilities.
The Jiu, being my first mindful experience of hearing an audiophile grade iEM, is a total revelation. The bass that comes alive in familiar tracks, like ARR's Dil Se, or The Eagles' live MTV performance, or any of the Steely Dan, Floyd numbers, The separation, sound stage, clarity of individual sounds, all means I am re-discovering tracks I thought I knew well.
I have used a SONY MDR-7506 for the past 15 years, and the Jiu blows that out of the water. The studio monitor may still be the best thing for a sound engineer, but if listening for entertainment, the Jiu is far ahead.
Some cons: The ear clip is a little flimsy, the wires keep slipping out. There is a lot of wire entwining that happens. Also, the lack of a removable wire is fine for now, but obviously worrisome long term.
Pro: I am able to use this without a DAC. So i got off the ground without even buying a DAC, and that leapfrogging is an awesome gift the Jiu gives.
I fully recommend this for the sound. Be mindful of the downsides I described (those aren't to do with the sound, anyway).

Why it Sounds Amazing
🔈 Dynamic Driver
The dynamic powerhouse of your sound ⚡!
We believe dynamic drivers are like the "reliable workhorses" of the headphone world they've been perfected over decades and continue to deliver incredible performance. This driver design uses a lightweight diaphragm attached to a voice coil suspended within a permanent magnetic field, enabling precise and responsive movement that produces sound with remarkable efficiency. Think of them like precision engines that convert electrical energy into acoustic energy with impressive power and naturalness.
Dynamic drivers excel at delivering powerful and authoritative bass reproduction, clear midrange frequencies, and vibrant high frequencies. The inherent strengths ensure your music is reproduced with impressive dynamics and energy that stays true to the artist's intent 🎶.
When you see "🔈 Dynamic Driver" products, expect energetic, natural sound with excellent dynamics that bring every note and beat to life with exceptional realism.
⚖️ Balanced Sound Signature
We've found that a balanced sound signature is like a well cooked meal, where nothing overpowers anything else and every ingredient gets its moment. Think of it as gear with no strong opinion about your music. In everyday listening this means you can go from rock to a jazz record to a podcast and never once feel like you picked the wrong headphone for the job 🎧.
Here's what's actually happening. No part of the frequency range is pushed forward at the expense of another. Bass has body without taking over, mids stay present, and treble adds clarity without bite. Small lifts may exist, but nothing shouts. The trade off is drama. A balanced tuning rarely stuns you in the first ten seconds, because it is built to still sound right in the tenth hour.
When you see "⚖️ Balanced Sound Signature" products, expect versatile, easy going sound that handles every genre you throw at it, ideal for a first serious pair or a one headphone collection.
🍿 Crisp Vocals & Instruments
Vocals and instruments sound so good, it's like a warm hug 🤗!
We believe that when vocals are reproduced correctly, they should feel like the artist is performing right there with you. These headphones demonstrate exceptional prowess in reproducing clear, articulate vocals and instruments, with each element rendered in stunning detail and separation. Think of it like having front row seats to an intimate acoustic performance where every breath, every string resonance, every subtle inflection comes through perfectly.
The natural timbre and tonal accuracy create an engaging presentation where every nuance is preserved while maintaining fatigue free listening. Each word, note, and subtle inflection is reproduced with outstanding definition and emotional connection 🎤.
When you encounter "🍿 Crisp Vocals & Instruments" products, expect vocal excellence that brings you closer to the emotional heart of every performance.
🍦 Smooth & Sweet Treble
Seeking something that sounds smooth and devoid of harshness 🥰? We tend to describe these headphones as having "silk like highs" that caress your ears rather than assault them. These products are meticulously designed to deliver high frequencies that are wonderfully gentle, offering a listening experience that's both sophisticated and delightful. Think of it like the difference between premium chocolate and cheap candy both are sweet, but one provides refined pleasure while the other can be overwhelming.
The carefully tuned treble presentation ensures musical details come through with remarkable clarity while maintaining natural, fatigue free character. The refined high frequency presentation maintains excellent detail and air while avoiding any hint of harshness or stridency ✨.
When you see "🍦 Smooth & Sweet Treble" products, expect refined high frequencies that deliver crisp detail with a touch of sweetness and sophistication.
🥃 Perfect to Layback & Relax
In our experience, a laid back sound is like sinking into your favorite armchair after a long day. It doesn’t push details in your face or try to overwhelm you with energy. Instead, it gives your music room to breathe and unfold naturally. Think of it like sipping a glass of smooth whisky there’s warmth, body, and ease. These headphones or IEMs are ideal for those who want to unwind and soak in a mellow vibe, whether it's a jazz trio or acoustic singer songwriter set. 🎧
Now, what’s actually happening here is a tuning that gently rolls off the treble and offers a warm, full low end. The midrange stays intimate, while bass adds comfort without punch, and highs avoid fatigue, making long sessions a pleasure. You won’t get maximum detail or separation but that’s the point. It’s not about dissecting the mix it’s about relaxing into it. For bedtime listening or just zoning out, this is your sonic hammock. 😌
