You little beauty !

Firstly, let me tell you why it's 4 stars and not 5. 2 reasons from my side

1. the treble rolls off a tab bit quickly for my taste
2. The stock cable is flimsy and doesn't look durable, though it's nice looking and functional.

Apart from these, it's just a fun sounding little beast! The fit and comfort is excellent. It's so light that you won't realize that it's in your ears. It's very very tiny in size and you will only be able to appreciate it when you hold it! Pictures won't do justice.

So fit and comfort- 9/10 ( the included ear tips are so so)

Bass - Punchy and textured. I was actually surprised at the texture presented at this price point! It's not as technical as the big brother Aria but it does a fantastic job nonetheless.

So bass - 8/10 ( loses out on sub bass)

Mids - very clear and crisp vocals. Instrument separation is above average though not as good as it's twin, the ssr. SSR wins hands down in the mids though ssp is not very far. Sound stage is average but this was expected..go for the aria if you have the budget.

Mids - 8/10 ( loses out on sound stage)

Treble as I already said rolls off quite quickly to my liking. SSR seems to have a more brighter signature.

So treble- 7/10

Overall, ssp is a fun sounding Iem that won't disappoint you. You can throw most of the genres at it and it will handle quite well. Build quality of the iem is superb, comfort is excellent.

Ps: the nozzle is a bit long. So if you have a small ear canal it might be a bit pokey..so use the right tip.

Warm&Smooth sound signature

Highs- Clean smooth (Non-fatiguing)
Mids - Little Forward and clean
Bass - Elevated sub bass
Soundstage - Not too wide, Just ok!
Overall an excellent IEM in it's price point !

These are good but needs some tweaks

I really liked the earphones. I generally listen on my phone but yeah the drawback i felt it it do need a portable dac usb . It's detailed in tunes but the lower frequencies i felt shallow sounding. Mixing up with other sounds , probably cause of lower sound production. I'll update the review after a month or so to give my final thoughts

Update : Needs a lot of power , totally not recommended for new audiophiles out there.

Hey Sandip, thanks for sharing your initial thoughts and honest feedback with everyone! :)

Moondrop SSP worth the hype ?

Attracted with the beryllium driver and its tuning and lots of hype in the review, I just wanted to check whether its all worth it.

Its really incredible. Even if its not impressed me with its sound signature, it anyways going to my collection because to it cuteness, well built and comfort.

Feels great even holding it in my hands :-)

I just paired with M0 and it quite impressed me without any EQ with mid-volume. I was told that it will be hard to drive than SSR, but it works good.

Its cute, built like a tank, small, nice cable, great packaging and everything is just so nice. Probably, it might take few more days continuous listening might help it to bring out its best.

But never mind, I love it as it is now. Thanks HPZ.

HI Rajkumar,

SSP is a pair of highly versatile IEMs – they can handle multiple genres of music while presenting an accurate and clean sound. They are now my default recommendation, even to non-audiophile friends who want a good pair of earphones. The Moondrop SSP are a slam dunk at the asking price. Highly recommend!

A BASS ENHANCED NATURAL SOUND FOR AN ENERGETIC LISTENING EXPERIENCE

While the overall sound signature of the Moondrop SSP remains neutral, the bass is slightly enhanced for a pleasant listening experience. This enhancement is done with respect to the Diffuse field Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) and does not affect the soundstage. Materials used to change the density of the 4 dampers of this headphone results in a natural yet energetic sound.

AN ALL-NEW ANTI-CLOGGING FILTER FOR INTERFERENCE-FREE LISTENING

Precisely controlled frequency response is what helps the Moondrop SSP to deliver the sonic performance it does. IEMs often face the risk of vapour or earwax contaminating inner damping but not with the Moondrop SSP. With an all-new triple-layer anti-clogging filter, the Moondrop SSP is free of such clogging issues which result in volume imbalance.
