I've been debating whether to go wireless or not. Am glad I took a chance with the XM4s; a perfect balance between convenience and quality - I can use these for all my activities (calls/movies/gaming/training) instead of having a separate headset for each purpose. Apart from the comfort level, the balanced sound for my preferred audio content and the ANC helping with isolating me from the world has elevated the overall experience. Money well spent!

I had purchased Bose headphones way back in 2007 and they've lasted thus far. So when I was looking for a replacement, I wasnt sure if I should go with Sony. I haven't tried a noise cancelation headset before, so I had to rely on the reviews on HeadphoneZone and Youtube. Between Shure Ionic 50 and Sony, I chose to go with the latter as I wanted a compact device. I placed the order on Friday and had the headphone delivered on Saturday. Thank you headphonezone team for the quick delivery. I unboxed the package (neat box and cover) and since then have been pleasantly surprised every day as I continue exploring the headphone. The noise cancelation is amazing and you can literally go in a meditative mode when you have the feature turned on. The controls are easy to follow and the app is amazing. I have tried out a couple of songs from audiophile categories and they all sounded good. I am very happy with this purchase and hope that this device will outlast my Bose headphones.

Top notch product from Sony
These are my first over the ear headphones and my most expensive purchase. I was very much impressed by the product. The build quality and the design is spot on for my taste. The sound is on par with my liking as I am not an audiophile I was not looking for studio-quality flat signature sound but whatever sony did to put it out is good but you can improve the overall audio with built-in EQ and then it becomes a completely different pair of headphones. The ANC is good enough that I don't hear much of the noise coming from TV, keyboards or roads. battery life has lasted me around 4 - 5 days with ANC mostly on as I use them almost 6 - 7 hours daily with features likes speak to chat and location tracking turned off as I found them much gimmicky and battery consuming. I have heard comfort complaints but I haven't faced that issue till now it's comfortable that I can wear them for long hours. The bass is clean and can be adjusted via EQ. The only issue I had is on the laptop if I wanted to do a meeting and selecting a built-in mic just worsen the sound quality and it doesn't sound good either the same can't be said for the phone, It's sound decent when doing meeting for a phone. I will suggest wired headphones with a built-in mic for meeting as it will always work but Bluetooth might cause some issues. Overall nice headphones are totally recommended if you are just looking for good sounding consumer headphones

I am using this headphone for last one year and it was an amazing experience for me. Bass are punchy and sound is clear. ANC is amazing. It is just uncomfortable to wear them long specially in summer time due to sweat. But other than that everything I love about this headphone.

Some months back I bought Sennheiser Momentum 3. Amazing Sound, nice built quality, but often sound would break while watching a movie on my laptop, also didn't look good on my head, but still loved it for its sound. I sold it and bought Sony XM4. Initially I disliked the sound, but after some days of playing, it started to sound amazing. I don't know how. The mobile app is good. I didn't face any connectivity issues on these headphones like I faced on Momentum 3. I had thought I wont like the touch operations. I was wrong, they work fine and I love it. I saw many reviews on YouTube where no one talked good about the Speak to Chat function. I loved it, works perfect, you talk and the music stops, you start to hear the outside world, double tap the right ear cup and it starts again. Ambient sound control works well.
I didn't buy these headphones for ANC, I bought them as I was curious and liked how these look. The noise cancelling on these headphones is too good, amazing, much better than Momentum 3. I don't know why but I found Momentum 3s more comfortable. I am happy I bought these. Only 4 stars because I feel these wont be as durable as, say, Momentum 3 or other durable ones. Comes with a good hard case. The only thing I hated about these is that you leave oil marks on them, happens a lot.

Honestly, I had the MX3 and I returned them because of the call quantity. In the MX4, it's not terrible but it's manageable, the sound and ANC are great, and I personally enjoy wearing them. The case is good and compact. Swiping gestures are fun, and speaking to chat is a nice option too. In the plane, it did a fairly good job , but the high frequencies were noticeable a bit. But for the most part, it worked great, and yeah, go for it!

To begin with I must clarify that I have never owned ANC headphones. I have tried various ANC headphones of friends and families, like Airpods Pro, BOSE QC series and even Momentum 2.
I own non-ANC headphone like M50x and multiple TWS and earbuds.
Following is my review, I will only talk in detail what other reviews might have missed, otherwise, the headphone features can be found anywhere on web.
Build Quality:
The materials seems the usual - very similar to M50x. That means it is going to fray and decay over time. The earpads and headbands dont stand a chance in Mumbai's humidity and heat. But I hope it lasts atleast a couple of years before doing so, and it is giving me confidence it will. The earpads are protein leather (or pleather) and have the softest sponge I have seen inside an headphone.
The hinges dont creak, but please handle it carefully. It is susceptible to breakage if used or moved with force. Overall good build, nothing modern or attractive, with almost no metal (except the size extender strip)
Comfort:
Here I would like to point out, the sponge inside the earpad, i.e. which covers the driver touches your ear when you wear them. The earpads are not at all shallow (like Boses headphones). Because of this, I sometimes get irrirated as the earlobes tend to get warm (or hurt even). With few adjustments it alleviates the discomfort, but doing adjustment should be unforgivable at this price point. This might not be the case with everyone, especially those whose ears dont stick out. Or even driver touching the ears, people might be comfortable with. The headband also being too narrow starts hurting top of the head. The mileage varies, sometimes I wore them for 4-5 hours, and other time had to remove them in less than an hour. I am hoping I would get used to it.
Sound Quality:
The quality on this sound is awesome. The provided equalizer and clear Bass settings also are great. Soundstaging is closed back narrow, but it works, seperation of instruments and positioning is great. Overall very happy with the sound for my EDM and ambient tracks.
ANC:
Started feeling like a cabin pressure on day 1 but then on, I feel fine. ANC is good in cancelling out rumble of my fans and other low frequency noises. Being WFH, I usually switch off the ANC and listen in passive mode. The app is great to control various settings, for ANC and others.
Call Quality:
Calling is bad on this headset. Really bad. I had to switch headphone immediately on couple of Zoom meetings as people started complaining as soon as I spoke. Even on Whatsapp call or normal call, I have had complaints. I have purchased the V-Moda Boom Pro mic for especially the Teams and Zoom meetings. It will arrive in a day or two. (Pro tip - Buy XM4, wait for a week you get about 28k Audiophile points on headphone zone, apply it on boom pro mic to get it in just 1k with 1.5k discount using the points earned from previous purchase)
Connectivity:
Seems fine, no issues. Dual connectivity works fine as well with PC-mobile and mobile-mobile. Need to have a primary phone and the app installed on it to connect.
Battery:
Awesome, after first recharge, its going on 25 hours and upwards with still 20 percent remaining. I have tried running it for 10 hours straight, it dropped about 30% in that period. No complaints.
Overall its a good buy. I hope the Boom pro mic solves my calling issues. For the comfort, I might change the earpads later for the issue I discussed.

Hi HPZ, finally got the headphone in a perfect condition. I have been using the Xm4 from past few days and it really meets the hype around it.
Great sound, good ANC, great build quality. Premium finish, and a super comfortable fit.
One drawback im facing though is when im connecting 2 devices, the audio codec switches to AAC automatically, and no option to switch back to LDAC. Also when two devices are connecy, you are on a teams call from laptop, and suppose you get a phone call, the headphone goes to ghost mode 😅, where i cannot connect back to the teams. Will have to reconnect the device again to start using.
Hope these could be fixed in software upgrades. Overall, if these issues are fixed, i would give it a solid 5 star
