In case you receive the Topping - E50 with a manufacturing defect, please raise a return request within 7 days of delivery.

However, if you receive an incorrect / damaged / different product or one with missing accessories, please raise a return request within 24 hours of delivery. In case you receive a product with a missing, incorrect, or faulty accessory, you will be given a replacement accessory instead of the entire product.

Please make sure that the product is in the original packaging with all the accessories it came with. We'll also need an unboxing video and images of the parcel to investigate about the discrepancy. You may be asked to share images of the product and the packaging received for us to determine the damage or defect prior to approving the return request. Sampling Rate:

Imagine your favourite song as a complex rollercoaster track. The sampling rate refers to how often the DAC takes measurements of this digital track, measured in kHz (kilohertz) or thousands of times per second. A higher sampling rate, like 96 kHz, is like taking a ton of pictures of the track, capturing every twist and turn with incredible detail. Lower rates, like the standard 44.1 kHz used in CDs, are like taking snapshots at a theme park – fun, but you might miss some of the subtler details that make the ride truly exhilarating.


Bit Depth:

Now, think about the sculptor's tools. Bit depth refers to the precision of each measurement the DAC takes. Imagine the number of colours available to the sculptor. PREAMPLIFIER FUNCTIONS WITH AUTOMATIC ON/OFF FUNCTIONALITY FOR INPUT PORTS

The Topping E50 offers preamplifier functions so you can control the output volume on the remote control included. This function will provide great convenience when connected to a power amplifier or monitor speakers. Topping E50 also comes with an automatic on/off function. With this function, the device automatically turns on and is set to the input where an active signal is found. When no signal is detected for about a minute, the E50 turns off automatically.

SELECTABLE INPUT AND OUTPUT OPTIONS

The E50 supports selectable USB+Coaxial+Optical input modes and RCA+TRS output options. USB input supports formats like DSD512 & PCM768kHz of high-resolution audio. On the E50, the optical and coaxial input not only supports 24bit 192kHz PCM but also supports DoP DSD64 with MQA rendering. E50 offers fully balanced TRS output and single-ended RCA output. You can choose “TRS Only”, “RCA Only” or “TRS+RCA” output to meet different usages in the multiple systems.
NOTE: The TRS output of E50 does not support every adapter to convert to single-ended connection, nor can it be directly connected to headphones.

It is an okay DAC

It did not wow me like the iFi Zen DAC v2 , the E50 definitely has more detail and clarity but I love the sound signature of the zen dac v2 better. The E50 is in no slouch either, I just prefer the warm sound of the zen dac v2 over the somewhat sharp sound of the E50. Also, I don't think it is worth 22k. It could be because of my amplifier pairing also which is also somewhat bright, hopefully with a new amplifier, it performs more to my liking. As of right now, 4/5 from me.

Clean DAC

Clean and detailed. Worth it considering the price for this balanced dac. Flawless performance from it's balanced output. I have only tested as a source to powered speakers. The interface is not so straightforward. You really need to take care if you are switching from line out to pre out because there is no separate mode in dac. If you are not careful, full line out signal will go to your power amp/speaker.
Will update once I test with my headphones and IEMs (HE 4XX, HD58X, GL2000, koss kph30i, Shuoer Tape and Blon bl03) using SMSL SP200 THX 888 amp.
Edit: Upon pairing this with SMSL SP200, I realise there is a reduction in soundstage using RCA interconnect compared to XLR interconnect. This can be attributed to a crossfeed of about 10dB in single ended output from E50 dac. Other than this I really have to say this a solid dac, punching way above it's weight at this price point.

Only one word - Outstanding

I have used E30 previously and it's a very good DAC for Price to performance ratio. Recently I borrowed an E50 for testing purposes and I was blown away by the performance.
Best thing about this device is it supports multiple inputs, so it can be plugged to a Headphone, TV via optical, or PC via USB. It has a PreAmp functionality by which volume can be controlled via remote control but I would not recommend this feature. By default the device comes with PreAmp mode(m-p). You need to change it to Dac Mode(m-d). User manual is very detailed and very easy to reset the functionality.

Coming to performance the E50 sounds neutral and clean to my ears. This DAC is precise and accurate and doesn't emulate the source content. Sound separation is brilliant and it also improves mids, lows and stage sound. I was using E30 and integrated DAC from my amplifier. When I connected E50 to my setup, it just changed the dynamics instantly. It can easily outperform other expensive Dacs which are priced 2x - 3x. Power Adapter is not included so you need to buy it separately.

I bought 2 Dacs and the price was 17,999 during the sale. In fact if you buy it from the USA or outside it will be expensive. Thank you headphone zone for getting this awesome product.

Topping E 50 DAC

I had a E 30 fed through a chromecast audio, connected to a emotiva basx a2 and onwards to a set of Magnepan LRS s. The Topping had some great reviews in the entry level category and was great. When I felt I should upgrade, obviously I went back to Topping, now the E 50,and its reviews were also great. My personal experience has been outstanding ( at this price point). Definitely recommended. Getting these DACs from Headphonezone was a hassle free experience. I managed to sell my E 30 through them and hence upgrading was a breeze.

Great Overall DAC

I attached the DAC to my Yamaha amplifier & was blown by the separation of musical instruments. Have attached to my RPi streamer acting as a Roon endpoint. I'm quite happy with the setup.
