The E50 comes equipped with a high-performance 32-bit, 2-channel ES9068AS Sabre chip, that provides transparent audio signal decoding achieving ultra-low distortion and high SNR ratings, ensuring Hi-Res sound output. With the help of careful design and adjustments, E50 reduces distortion to as low as 0.00009% and a dynamic range of 126dB, providing you with perfect sound quality.
EMBEDDED WITH XMOS XU216 16 CORE USB RECEIVER FOR HIGH-RESOLUTION AUDIO
Topping E50 is equipped with the latest-generation 16-core XMOS USB signal receiver chip, the XMOS XU216. MQA DECODING WITH THE CAPABILITY TO PLAY DSD AND PCM AUDIO FORMATS
Topping E50 brings support for MQA decoding along with 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 decoding support. E50, after capturing the recording, MQA folds the file to make it small enough to stream. This is called ‘Music Origami’ - MQA will playback on any device to deliver higher than CD-Quality. When paired with an MQA decoder, the MQA file reveals the original master recording.
ALL NEW CPLD PROCESSING FOR INCREDIBLE JITTER SUPPRESSION
Topping E50 uses CPLD processing to utilise the clock functions and optimise the digital signal, achieving incredible jitter suppression capabilities. With this new CPLD processing, there is no need for an extra femtosecond crystal or an external clock to reduce the jitter. With reduced jitter, the audio transmitted is artefact free and of the highest quality.
PREAMPLIFIER FUNCTIONS WITH AUTOMATIC ON/OFF FUNCTIONALITY FOR INPUT PORTS
The Topping E50 offers preamplifier functions so you can control the output volume on the remote control included. This function will provide great convenience when connected to a power amplifier or monitor speakers. Topping E50 also comes with an automatic on/off function. With this function, the device automatically turns on and is set to the input where an active signal is found. When no signal is detected for about a minute, the E50 turns off automatically.
SELECTABLE INPUT AND OUTPUT OPTIONS
The E50 supports selectable USB+Coaxial+Optical input modes and RCA+TRS output options. USB input supports formats like DSD512 & PCM768kHz of high-resolution audio. On the E50, the optical and coaxial input not only supports 24bit 192kHz PCM but also supports DoP DSD64 with MQA rendering. E50 offers fully balanced TRS output and single-ended RCA output. You can choose “TRS Only”, “RCA Only” or “TRS+RCA” output to meet different usages in the multiple systems.
NOTE: The TRS output of E50 does not support every adapter to convert to single-ended connection, nor can it be directly connected to headphones.

It did not wow me like the iFi Zen DAC v2 , the E50 definitely has more detail and clarity but I love the sound signature of the zen dac v2 better. The E50 is in no slouch either, I just prefer the warm sound of the zen dac v2 over the somewhat sharp sound of the E50. Also, I don't think it is worth 22k. It could be because of my amplifier pairing also which is also somewhat bright, hopefully with a new amplifier, it performs more to my liking. As of right now, 4/5 from me.

Clean and detailed. Worth it considering the price for this balanced dac. Flawless performance from it's balanced output. I have only tested as a source to powered speakers. The interface is not so straightforward. You really need to take care if you are switching from line out to pre out because there is no separate mode in dac. If you are not careful, full line out signal will go to your power amp/speaker.
Will update once I test with my headphones and IEMs (HE 4XX, HD58X, GL2000, koss kph30i, Shuoer Tape and Blon bl03) using SMSL SP200 THX 888 amp.
Edit: Upon pairing this with SMSL SP200, I realise there is a reduction in soundstage using RCA interconnect compared to XLR interconnect. This can be attributed to a crossfeed of about 10dB in single ended output from E50 dac. Other than this I really have to say this a solid dac, punching way above it's weight at this price point.
I attached the DAC to my Yamaha amplifier & was blown by the separation of musical instruments. Have attached to my RPi streamer acting as a Roon endpoint. I'm quite happy with the setup.

VERY VERY GOOD, AS EXPECTED.
The DAC worked fine OOB. The bumps (foot) on the base of the DAC are big enough to not block the vents in your amplifier if you use 10cm AUX cables and need to seat the DAC on top of you amp. Before playing music, go to the Topping website (www.tpdz.net) and download the latest drivers and check if you have the latest firmware. The driver download ZIP file also has PDFs with detailed information how to setup DSD playback in JRiver and Foobar2000. How the DAC sounds and similar information can be found widely on the internet (like Amir's review in Audio Science Review website).
