What difference can a Balanced Cable and a Balanced DAC & Amp make to the sound of your IEMs? Well, it's hard to make a general statement. But here are something's you should know.
Using a Balanced DAC & Amp means using 2 amplifiers doing the job of one. So each channel, Left and Right gets it's own amplifier. So the first thing you should notice, is your IEMs get double the amount of power. What's more, the use of Balanced cables also lower the noise floor on any headphone, and therefore improves the dynamic range, helping you hear softer details on any track. They also notably eliminates cross-talk between the left and right channel, something that can make subtle improvements to the soundstage.
Different Headphones and IEMs respond slightly differently to upgrading the chain to balanced DAC & Amp and balanced cables. But as a general rule of thumb, you should hear a more controlled sound, sharper responses, tighter bass, and a wider soundstage.

Sound and out put is superb on laptop and details are crisp and nuanced on lossless audio but on my iPhone there is static and distortion
I’ve been using the BLON IEMs since 2023, and I paired them with the Shanling UA1s DAC, which I bought for ₹4299. Wanting to upgrade my IEM setup, I reached out to the Headphone Zone team. I didn’t really know much about technical terms like frequency response, so I just explained my needs in simple words.
They suggested the Tangzu Wan’er SG, but I ended up going for their best-value bundle—and honestly, I believe that was the right decision.

Based on our experience we purchased Hi-Res DAC Pro 4.4mm Balanced Type-C Digital-To-Analogue Converter to pair with our Samsung Ultra 24 mobile phone and Galaxy book 4 pro 360 laptop and Tangzu Wan'er IEM (we purchased the same as a Bundle with the DAC and 4.4 mm cable). The product was delivered with 3 days and packaging was exceptionally good.
The DAC is light weight and we are able to comfortably use it on the go with phone during long walks. It looks sturdy and hopefully will last a long time. The DAC is rated at 330mW (32 Ohms load)
and we found that tangzu Wan'er gets plety loud at 30% Galaxy book 4 pro laptop volume and 40% volume of Samsung Ultra 24 smartphone. The DAC worked straight out of the box and has certianly uplifted our audio experience to the next level combined with high quality 4.4 mm cable and Tangzu Wan'er IEM. Thanks to Headphone zone for creating best in class bundle that made decision making easier for us.

I had my "two seconds of fame" moment when I saw this product on the Headphone Zone website. "I asked them for it and they made it! Wow!!!" So thought I. In my previous review of the 3.5mm version of this product, I specifically requested that they make a 4.4mm version. So when I saw this, I felt immense joy and had that "fame" moment! But then I realized that the good folks at Headphone Zone probably got many such requests for this product because this product is rare. And they made it. Anyway, I digress. Let's get on to the review.
Build: It is sturdy, compact, lightweight, and good-looking. This one is a bit thicker on both the terminations than the 3.5mm one. The USB adapter dongle is also good.
Sound impressions:
Source device: Linux desktop, Android phone, Macbook
Apps: Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, IDAGIO, Spotify
Local Albums: 16-44.1, 24-96, 24-192, DSD, DxD, and MQA Albums of various artists
Pro(s):
+ very natural (though in some songs there is a hint of warmness)
+ balanced sound profile, not too analytical and not too warm
+ note-weight, timbre, and tonality are perfect
+ base is superb (somewhat slow to my taste but impactful)
+ midrange is the creme de la creme of the entire frequency spectrum, both male and female vocals sound true to life, and live music sounds superb
+ treble is well extended and also very good, with no harshness
+ no noticeable overlapping of frequency
+ very wide and deep soundstage
+ imaging is too good, position of instruments has pinpoint accuracy
+ sounded superb from the get-go (though I recommend burn-in anyway)
+ NO sibilance (a huge relief for me!)
+ sound retains superb roundness at even the lowest volume (this is the hallmark of an excellent audio product)
+ does not get noticeably warm even after prolonged usage, unlike the 3.5mm one
Con(s):
- very loud due to superlative power output (330 mW at 32ohm nominal), so proper care had to be taken while using sensitive IEMs
- vocals in some vocal-forward tracks might sound overpowering even at low volumes, but I'm sure that this will improve after prolonged usage
Please note that this review is done after about 2 and a half hours of usage. This will get even better with more usage. The cons that I've mentioned are nitpicky ones.
My Take: I got this surprisingly early today (29/11/2024). And since today is Puccini's 100th death anniversary, I listened to Puccini straightaway after getting it! It is good. Really, really good. It is a no-brainer if you want to listen to music at its full glory with IEMs or headphones with balanced terminations! I highly recommend it. And my sincerest gratitude to the folks at Headphone Zone for launching this!
