Best sound quality

Sound quality wise, in regards to the most accurate/neutral sound, these are probably the best in the price range. But make sure to worry about the DAC, it can damage your IEMs, it did to mine.

Moondrop Chu 2 with ddHiFi DAC – Solid Entry Setup but Pricey Add-On

I started with the Moondrop Chu 2 as my first step into IEMs, and after a few days of adjustment, both in fit and sound, they’ve grown on me. Initially, I felt some discomfort and found the sound flat with weak bass. But over time, the sound signature opened up naturally without EQ, settling into a balanced presentation with a touch of bass.

I paired it with the ddHiFi DAC from Headphone Zone. While the DAC is on the expensive side compared to similar options in the market (the cost seems more about build quality), it does its job well. The difference is noticeable: volume gets a clear boost, the sound feels a bit more balanced, and everything is slightly more amplified—nothing extreme, just a cleaner and fuller output.

Coming from JBL Tune 130 NC TWS and Sennheiser CX 180, I find the Chu 2 closer to the CX 180 but with slightly more bass, though not as warm or bass-heavy as the JBLs. The Chu 2 leans more towards a neutral, balanced sound that grows on you with use.

For beginners, this setup works well, but if you’re budget-conscious, the DAC price might feel a bit steep.
