The DAC section of M6 Ultra was designed with four TI-OPA1612, splitting the balanced audio signal between all four DACs achieving a completely independent balanced output. Two TI-OPA2211 are incorporated in its circuitry for low noise and high bandwidth performance. The circuitry is surrounded by top-quality Panasonic tantalum-polymer capacitors, two for each of the four DACs. Smooth as silk!

After using Shanling M3X for almost 2 years, I was looking to upgrade my DAP experience in a price range of INR 70k to 80k. Although I had a great experience with Shanling previously, I was open to other brands as well. After contemplating between Sony's new DAP, Shanling M7 (a higher budget DAP) and Shanling M6 Ultra, finally decided to go with the latter due to following factors: 1. Quad AKM DAC chips which would diversify Dual ESS Sabres which came with M3X; 2. More power than Sony's; 3. Fit perfectly in my budget as compared to M7.

Pros:
1. Ample power to drive my full-sized headphones such as Hifiman Sundara and Sennheiser 660S. No questions about IEMs.
2. Silky smooth, warm and fuller sound as compared to M3X which is more linear.
3. Works very well with neutral IEMs and headphones (connected comment in cons).

Cons:
1. Gets warm quickly and comes without a cover, which I had to buy separately.
2. Due to its warm sound signature, some IEMs or headphones which are already bass forward might sound bassy if the user is looking for a neutral delivery.

Asahi Kasei Chip for the win!!

The Asahi Kasei quad chip makes the listening an exceptional experience, and I am saying this after listening to almost all Sabre and Burr Brown chips.
The UI is smooth with Android 10 trinket and 665 snapdragon processor.
3.5Gigs LG Ram is more thn enuff to drive your music player apps. However, the native Shanling App does not offer gapless playing which cud be a bummer. I use power amp and tidal so I dnt have an issue there.
Only gripe I have is the lack of a protective case with such a purchase!otherwise this M6 Ultra is a solid purchase and has a warmer overall,velvety tone to the music. With a balanced cable this DAP will make sure that u feel that u are sitting in the studio production house while listening to the music!!
Shanling has reached a zenith with this upgrade from its previous M6 versions.

What a Sound

It sounds magical and unheard !!!!! Player is good just that I am trying to update it is showing me error after trying to update , It is very good for all music genres, Talking about the soundstage it is wide, clean vocals highs and mids are well balanced.
